Just started, but I LOVE the graphic on the top corner during the tour. I have a difficult time connecting the videos with layouts when I watch tours from brokers, YTers, etc.. or look at street easy, I wish more people did this.
Very cool and in 12:33 formative! Definitely, felt like I could "see it" and be there.. Shocked that you didn't select any --truthful disclosure on length and duration of hunt helped. So did "compare and contrast".even if in some cases it's 🍅s and 🍊s.
I left NY a few years ago and it's crazy how much prices have increased! I hope you find a good apartment to move into, there are gems out there if you're patient!
I live in Los Angeles but have always wanted to live in NYC. Something about it - the energy...I know I'm glamorizing it but it just seems like such a vibe. Thanks for the tours!
Very detailed and on point. Thanks for not wasting time before providing all the good info. I would watch any apt hunting video you upload if they are in Similar format. Subscribing.❤.
So crazy. 50k a year for just rent when people barely make that from a good job. These places had good amenities, nice to see options. I actually liked the Chelsea apartment more than expected.
Wow , any studio over 2500 should be considered a federal crime like omg , I still am crazy over nyc. Anyways good luck with your channel , you are very good , you just gained a new subscriber !!
Our family is making a big move from the south to the metropolitan area. We have not decided on New York or New Jersey but I am telling you we are looking at McMansion rentals for $4000 in Jersey I think we are going for Jersey! These rents are ridiculous for what you get, but thank you for your informative videos. They are very very good.
I was born in nyc and most my family are all still here :) My bf lives in Sweden so I spend quite a bit of time in both places now. I think NYC is worth the experience, there really is no other city like it!
Wowww thank you so much for sharing your experience ❤ and honestly , I don’t mind paying that much money for very small apartment “it’s New York “ but with a washer and dryer in unit cause it’s insane to pay that much and you don’t even get a washer and dryer’s in unit that’s my humble opinion
1 bedroom for 4-5k dollars to rent? I live in Copenhagen, Denmark one of the richest and expensive countries in the world. But that seems out of this world - how can people afford it? And even if they can afford it - why would they rent instead of owning if they have that sort of money? The most crazy prices we have here are like 2.5 k for 1 bedroom maximum. But I think the average is about 2 k for a two bedroom apartment.
Salaries are also much higher in New York; the average salary in Manhattan is 100,000$ people don't buy because buying is **even more** ludicrously expensive
@@kerboy5397 even if salaries are 100k on average - it doesnt make sense to me. That is still over half your (pre-tax) salary for 1 bedroom. That is not sustainable
That is NOT a "stove " in the 1st apartment that is just a cooktop...a STOVE includes a cooktop AND an OVEN...$4250? WTF that is $51,000 USD a year for just RENT
its a business district, so it has a lot of office buildings and less of the trendy restaurants, shops, bars. During the weekday it's filled with office workers and tourists. During the nights or weekends, it gets incredibly quiet. I've lived in two diff apartments in Fidi, and I personally LOVED it!
Similar to what other cities around the globe have done NY should consider extending your into the harbor to create a new burrow, a NY college professor recently mentioned it and the idea is floating around RUclips but it’s just a smart idea at this point.
$50,000 a year out the window isn't really worth it. I'd rather live with several roommates like a refugee for 5 years, then buy a small studio in Yorkville, UES with $200k cash at the end of that. Then your coop fee/mortgage will only be like $1200 a month and all of that is forced savings and your equity will be great in 10 years. I can't imagine just burning that much cash each year for NYC. If anything, move to central NJ or PA, live for cheap and come into NYC whenever you want. NYC isn't that amazing for $50k a year. I'm a native New Yorker for what it's worth.
Don't rent a place with Gas issues it will come back And also corner unit is best. You need a view. South or West facing North or East will be hard to heat. Bathroom needs to be functional not pretty you won't live in there Thick curtains will cut out Street noise
In my opinion those two first bathrooms were not dark. I would love to have some color in my bathroom. I hate all white bathrooms or basically anything all white.
It’s a bit of a marketing tactic 😐 at renewal, your lease will increase on the listed monthly rate, rather than net effective. And so it ultimately increases a very significant amount

Yes!!! Back then I was paying 1500 for a flex bedroom with 2 other roommates... its just crazy now
Do you miss it ?
I do but I'm glad I moved as well@@FabianKim-z9u

Yes!!! NYC has such a unique vibe… a little grungy, very chaotic, and glamorous all at the same time haha
Those prices are ridiculous, especially considering they don't even have in-unit laundry.
I agree 😩 having to wait for the shared laundry machines on a sunday always sucked
Im so greatful to be living in vegas. These prices are a joke 😮
I love everything about this video. I have the urge to move to New York but those rent prices are criminal 😮💨
Thank you for watching! 🥹 and yes back then I thought 2018 rent prices were crazy but now is just 🤯
I really liked the idea of showing us where are u on a plan!!! Love it!!💘
TY for watching!! 💛
Very thorough and I love that you included floor plans! Thanks!
I'm glad it was helpful! I had fun placing the little guy throughout the floor plan haha
Rent prices are ridiculous in NYC and other cities across the States

@@maddscientist3170 😂 , you have a fair point tbh , but I was talking in New York prices which are known to be crazy 💸💸
Thank you for this! Would be super interested to see studios/1br in the $2000-3000 range (if those exist)
I am going to try and find some and check those out as well! :)

Loved this!! So thorough but to the point. That trapezoid bedroom is so weird, but the other apartments you got to see were actually nice! Haha
thank you for watching :D
I loved the, I think, the 4th apartment. Thank you for sharing. Peace 🕊️
off topic but i love the way you speak
perfect pace
Omg I’m glad bc it always sounds so weird when I hear myself 🤣
Such a lovely and detailed review. Thanks all your efforts.
Love the mini dish washer
It’s kinda cute honestly 😄
At that price point where I live you would be in a luxury gated community 3 bed 2 full bath condo
The bathrooms look great and the apartments overall
Thank you for sharing your tour! ☺ Smile
Thank you for watching!
@@bymichlea Good Morning and you ate welcome.
You did an excellent job with this video!

I agree, too crazy. I heard they are starting to get a little better now! Though “better” probably doesn’t mean much here lol
5 grand for a mini dishwasher is crazy!!! Lolol I’m only 2 minutes in.
lmfaoooo on the bright side no more waiting for a full dishwasher before running it 😅
$4590 for a studio is insane
I completely agree 😩

I didn't know the term for it! learned something new thank you 😀 but yeah i agree absolutely absurd
What makes the financial district not a hip area? Is it just overall quieter? Is it cleaner? Because this appeals to me. 🙃
because all of the artsy/hipster weirdos look down on white collar finance people

Awesome tours, can't wait to see more!
thank you so much!! 🤗

Hi
The corner window in the studio sells that place.
I think that’s what they are banking on too! That view is one of my favorites lol
So expensive l won’t even bother
What do you do for a living? And you are correct, the rent prices are crazy. Way too expensive for such little amount of space.
I work in sourcing and procurement! I have a couple videos on it in case you’re interested :)
this price is crazy
I completely agree 😩
These prices are insane lol. That's why I live in Brooklyn.
I agree! A good amount of my friends live in Brooklyn and absolutely LOVE it, tho it’s also gotten pricier over the years too
@@bymichlea daughter has 2 bed studio under 2500 in Brooklyn, didn't have to have a roommate. Worth not living in the popular area.
Lots of areas in Brooklyn are equally as expensive. Queens is where it’s at if you want good values.
Nyc is a racket and a snare 😅
I love this video
I thought my mortgage was insane in Australia but your rent is 3 x times the cost of my 3 bedroom with a pool a month
Nyc is wild 🫣 I have family in Aus and they said rent and housing there is tough too now 😭
Insane rent
very good information!

It really is!!!! absolutely insane
I didn't think 42nd St. was considered Chelsea
It isn’t :)
do the first two not have ovens? but dishwashers below instead? 😭
YUPPPPP no oven 😩
I don't get it, what kind of job do you need to can afford an apartment for renting which costs between 3000-5000 dollars/month?
Don't rent a place with Gas issues it will come back And also corner unit is best. You need a view. South or West facing North or East will be hard to heat. Bathroom needs to be functional not pretty you won't live in there Thick curtains will cut out Street noise

What is the average monthly income in New York?
I want to know what you all do for a living being able to pay those prices??!! 😅
One word Brooklyn
I totally agree. Though I heard Bklyn has gotten pricey too 😰
@@bymichlea yeah but still not as expensive and better lifestyle... Manhattan is good to visit but Brooklyn is better to live in... 👍🏻😎💯
How much commission client has to Pay to client
I’m Real estate agent in Dubai
I’m not sure about buying and selling for agents, but with renting the broker fee can be anywhere from 1 months rent to 15% of annual rent
It is alway the price 😢😢
Wth is it about New York and that ridiculousssssss rental prices
What’s the logic behind the “one month free” deal? Why not just say the actual price?

Really 4000$??? For studio and u alone?? How much u make monthly 😮
