    I like that traxxas stays with what they build. And don't discontinue trucks in a year. Even if they upgraded the maxx you can still get parts for the old one

    So you may notice that the tires on the Maxx V2 have like a white chalk layer on them... If you want to make them look darker and look more like well... A tire.. you can use a car tire spray that will blacken them and make them look brand new! I did that with my V2 and it really makes a difference, I highly recommend it!

    Great video! Razor said he loves the durability of the 2.0 but the 1st Maxx handles better. Said it is more nimble and with shock tuning it wont flip as much. After seeing this video and how well it handled for you I'd have to go with the 2.0 for only $20 more. I can also say that I'm thankful Traxxas is finally really listening to the community and although I hate the way the Maxx looks Landing Big Air I believe they are going to resolve that in the near future.

      I saw that! Was a little surprised he didn't like it as much. He mentioned the steering being a little worse with the longer chassis and I agree with that, it does feel a little reduced, but I didn't think it was great to begin with.

      Shoot. Rustler 4X4 VXL vs Maxx 2.0? That is a tough one. They are both beasts in their own way, one a little bigger and more capable in rougher terrain. Bigger trucks need more space though, bigger tires cost more and 4S LiPo's cost more than 3S. Not a bad decision to have to make; you win either way!

      I haven't driven the Maxx or the 2.0 because Traxxas has left a bad taste in my mouth with their history... but I can't deny that everybody says regardless of if this thing handles well or not it is one of the toughest RC's of all time. Did you see Razor RC review? He actually said he likes the way the original Maxx handles better than the new one! He said with the added length and width makes it's much harder to turn and doesn't handle as well. I want one but two things are turning me off: how horrible it typically looks when it lands, and Razor RC saying it is the worst handling monster truck he owns and he owns every single 10 and 8 scale monster truck! 😱 another thing is I've been doing this hobby for only about five years and as much as I used to like tuning RC's I don't have the time I once had but I must say I'm happy that Traxxas it's finally listening to the community and we didn't have to wait 10 for an update!!!

      Yeah, you should be able to do that. You'll need the shorter upper and lower arms, driveshafts and steering links.

    Just so everyone knows, this MAXX 2.0 is a fix for the Version one MAXX. Traxxas should pull the first MAXX off the market so no one else makes the same mistake many of us made buy it. The MAXX 2.0 is how the MAXX should have been made in the first place. Traxxas just doesn't want to admit that the original MAXX was engineered wrong. It wasn't a $50 upgrade, It cost $180 if you did it right. The Traxxas upgrade you're speaking of would still bend or brake the Drive shafts. They did make the MAXX right now, but they're still selling the Version one, and that's just wrong.
    For anyone out there wanting the MAXX, ONLY but the MAXX 2.0.

    I'm good with refinements, but I can't believe they switched the body. I have the original MAXX and can imagine the nightmare its going to be to find the correct body in the future. Its the 2wd/4wd Stampede all over again. I'm hoping some third party options come out and they make it fit either length by adjusting the install location of the clips or something.

    • @AMain_Hobbies
      @AMain_Hobbies  2 года назад +2

      Definitely some potential for headaches here. I was imagining what's going to happen when somebody walks into a hobby shop asking for the "widemaxx" body; that could be either truck and they just might receiver either body unknowingly.

    • @AMain_Hobbies
      @AMain_Hobbies  Год назад +1

      Yeah, they've served us well. They're very flat and rigid belted tires, so they stay flat the whole time. We've only used them to bash around in dirty parking parking lots, but performance was always good and much improved over a nobby tire on that surface.

      @@AMain_Hobbies Cool. Is there a specific Sweep Racing model of wheels/tires that are fit for the Traxxas Maxx?

    • @AMain_Hobbies
      @AMain_Hobbies  Год назад +1

      @@flhandster4395 No, they only offer the one size, with 17mm hex. Have you checked out 1/8 buggy tires? It's another on-road option with shorter tires that are more narrow.
      www.amainhobbies.com/jconcepts-speed-claw-belted-tire-premounted-w-cheetah-speedrun-wheel-white-jco3113-19/p1126937
      The Sweep tires are larger diameter, so it's like gearing up the motor. The 1/8 buggy tires are shorter, like gearing down the motor. In either case, you may need to re-gear the pinion gear once changing tire sizes to keep the motor/esc from overheating; it just depends on your driving style, how hard you drive, the surface you drive in and the ambient outside temperatures.

    You think at that price they would have included more aluminum like aluminum shock towers. HPI Savage has the same problem. Then again is it on purpose ? Is some plastic shock towers "better" then aluminum ? I have never broke one on my Savage X 4.6 nitro. The old school ones. However I see almost all higher end trucks / cars have good quality aluminum. Please share and notice if you like. Id love to learn why.

      Get the Maxx 2.0! The E-Revo 2.0 is a fantastically big and stable basher, but the rod ends and shock ends need some upgrades and TLC to be durable. With the Maxx 2.0, it's ready to rip and needs nothing.
