I started watching, not gonna lie, was a bit like: "oh ok, tassels, yeah hmm alright why not watch, may as well, doubt I'll see anything different"
To then sitting here like 😍😍😍
Oh my! That blue ribbon one! I want a hundred of those threaded onto elastic as a waistband and have an entire skirt of them! Right down to the floor! All jingling gently as you walk! Those blues! Literally the best colour combo ever! Like a peacock or a kingfisher! Jewel tones! This certainly wasn't just "another tassel" video!
Absofuckinglutely gorgeous! I love how you put individual effort into your project pieces rather than bulk making quick-turn-around items to decorate journals en masse! You enjoy the process of creating, rather than knocking out items fast just for profit. Refreshing to be reminded to just make and enjoy, focus on the profit to your wellbeing rather than your purse! Too many videos lately of "let's make 25 journal cards in 1 hour" that kind of thing, turning an enjoyable creative moment into a commission incentive! Yes of course people deserve to make money from their crafts, even a little amount to keep their supplies full so their hobby is basically paid for, let alone profit. But the point of buying hand crafted items is that you want to own something completely individual, something that was made with the joy of creating it woven right into each piece. And you do that! And do it beautifully! 😘😘😘

@@NinaRibenaMixedMedia Well I'm glad I kickstarted your day with a hit of confidence boosting! No more than you deserve! RUclips is flooded with crafting tutorials, it's getting harder and harder to find true inspiration among the thousands of samey demonstrations! My mojo hasn't so much disappeared, as slamming it's head against a wall out of boredom! Now it wants to dance barefoot and play tambourines as it twirls around wearing a ribbon tasseled skirt! 🌼🌹🌷🌸🌺

What a lovely addition using the thimble, I love your tassels the colours are gorgeous and very sumptuous .... Did I spy one of my beadies on the top... Ha ha 😉 so glad you got to use some great tutorial Nina ❤️❤️ I used some eyelash trim/yarn to make a tassel, that came out lovely and fluffy, I don't think I have enough ribbons to do this! Not sure if this Boho is really me but loving seeing what you have come up with! 😊😊❤️❤️🌼🌼

Thanks Elaine. I really enjoyed making these tassels and it feels good to be in bead mode again. Sorry, but these were not your beads. I do however know what I want to make with your beautiful beads, so watch this space. If it makes you feel any better, I’ve had the beads I used for these tassels for approx 10 years, although I did accumulate rather a lot of them because I loved them so much. The maker is a lovely lady called a Robyn Montgomery who is based in the US. They only come out for special projects. Your’s will get used, so please don’t worry 💕💕💕 xxx

Beautiful perfect tassels. I laughed at the idea of a tassel charm in a tassel. I have wondered if aqua and purple are your favorite colours, Nina. If pink is added to those two, it makes my favorite colours. Of course I love all colours as I'm sure you do as well. It's 82F in sunny Arizona up where I live (Northern Arizona) and expected to be 98F Thursday. Summer is my Winter in AZ (I stay inside when it's above 95F)! TFS as always. XOXOJane

Thank you Jane. I can’t honestly say I have a favourite colour as it depends on the season, but I do enjoy putting combinations of colours together. I do love aqua though, and lime green. We don’t often get temperatures that high here, but we are enjoying some warm weather at the moment, and its a very pleasant 60 - 65F. It doesn’t usually get above 75F even in the height of summer! I hope you are having a lovely week. Stay safe 💕 xoxo

I love to go to bead shows but always come home & just stare at them. You have given me the tools to know how to use the charms & beads that I have in my stash. It’s good to be reminded of just how extensive my stash is. I’ve a drawer full of ribbons and trims, boxes of yarn, charms galore. And so very many beads. This sort of tassel is smack dab in the middle of my wheelhouse. It would make for a lovely focal on a simple beaded necklace.
I made my first object at 10 years old and have been crafting ever since. That’s why I have so much stuff; I’ve been crafting for over 40 years now. I think I’ve tried just about every type of craft at one point or another. I know people are intimidated when they see all my stuff. I’m under the impression that Nina has a similar collection.
A tassel like the blue one could easily overwhelm a new crafter just thinking about all the stuff necessary to make it.
In case anyone is thinking they don’t have the supplies on hand to make tassels like this one, keep in mind that the entire tassel can be made from paper. You can even spin your junk mail into yarn with a home made drop spindle. You can also make paper tassel toppers. The cardboard tubes inside cling wrap, aluminum foil, and wax paper make wonderfully sturdy bases for a tassel top. You can use your normal art journal supplies to decorate the top. Die cuts and stamps would make for fabulous charms. I bet everyone could come up with something. I’ve even made very simple beads with just toilet paper, glue, and water. Don’t let the number of supplies keep you from making a tassel if you want to make one.

    • @NinaRibenaMixedMedia
      @NinaRibenaMixedMedia  4 года назад +1

Haha! You would be right in thinking I have a similar collection. Like you I’ve tried many crafts and have accumulated a lot of supplies along the way. Simple things like buttons would make wonderful charms. I have a tassel playlist linked in the video description box showing all kinds of tassels I have made with full tutorials. Wine cork tassels, paper tassels, Jenga piece tassels ...... As you say, there are so many options. Happy Crafting 💕💕💕

Thank you Nina , a great video . I really love how you show how to make alternatives because as you said not everybody has same supplies , good advice especially now. I love how you used a thimble on your dangle. The finished product looks classy .

This is a GREAT video! Great subject. I love how much you enjoy the crafting of the tassel. I'm inspired by you, and will be doing tassels soon. YAY!!!
Your teaching style is perfect. Not too fast. Not too slow. Its not easy to make an exciting video about tassels!! But you did it.
Thanks for sharing your ideas & your talent. One of the best crafting videos I've seen!!!
PS - Oh, and the thimble,...brilliant! I had no idea WHAT to do with all the thimbles I got in MY Mother's sewing box. Can't get rid of them. Sometimes I just sit and put them all at once, on my fingertips, and think about my Mother!!! Now, I can put them to use!!
