    Thank you for this review. You are so thorough it is very much appreciated! I went and bought this same bike, just 2 days in and still learning it, but it is an amazing bike! As a former road bike cyclist with very bad knees, this has me back out on the road and I couldn’t be happier!!

    What a great looking bike Court. I've had 3 Specialized bikes (leg bikes) in the past, Stumpjumper, Full Suspension Epic and a Hybrid, really liked them all. I love the sporty build on this, I ride a bit of urban but love to jump curbs and hit some dirt as well and this looks to be perfect for that type of riding. If our family could go down to one car I would surely consider this. Great review!

    I've had 3 Stromers an love this last one ST2 Sport belt drive an Stermy Archer 5 speed. I had 100 miles on it last fall an last ride my problems started. 20% left on battery after near 50 miles an battery wouldn't come out. Rich at Crazy Lennys got it out an found a sliver of steel on a connection. That solved that problem but then a wire came out may have been omni. Madison 350 miles away. Then I fell an display again wouldn't come on. My brother in law found two connections pulled out of omni. The shifter cable was stressed the way it was laid out an was stretched about a half inch. It now runs but in 5 gear all the time an in 2nd assist stuck their. Saw a wire that had copper showing. Wires binding on each other. I love the quite power of that bike an can accelerate sitting on seat going up one of the steepest hills in town. They keep telling me to bring it in like I live across the street. What would you do ? Is Stromer on their way out. You don't have any new reviews. Darrell

    This is the review I’ve been waiting for! Have a Gen1 Vado4 and interested in this Gen2 version. Will wait for the belt drive to be available. Shame it’s down on torque from my version.

    • @ElectricBikeReview
      @ElectricBikeReview  2 года назад +1

      Yeah, but if you get the 5.0 Vado with the belt and Enviolo Automatiq it would offer 90nm of torque. The 3.0 is 50nm and the 4.0 (shown in my video) is 70nm. Perhaps you’ll end up with the same torque!

    • @Pipsicle330
      @Pipsicle330 2 года назад

      @@ElectricBikeReview Yes, I’d been looking at the specs and would need the new 5 to be closest the the torque of my 4. But I think even it is slightly down in comparison. However I think I used the Turbo mode only once all of last year so doubt I’d notice!

We live in the Midwest and mainly use the e bikes when camping. Secondly would you recommend a suspension seat post? If so what brand and model? We have had hip and knee replacements. You provide just an outstanding UTube channel! Your comments are really helpful! Thanks for everything you do!

    It seems I missed the recent 1st round of preorders for the belt drive version of this ebike. I’d really like to buy a red 4.0 or 5.0 with a belt drive, but local bike shops near me can’t even order them. The bike shops told me my likely only chance to buy one will be to order from Specialized online during their tiny preorder windows, and have the bike shipped to my local bike shop for assembly.

      Honestly, it has been so long since I rode the other Vado (and I’ve tested so many bikes in between), it’s difficult to say whether there is much of a geometry change. The tires are different, and I like them. The motor is similar if not the same, the app has gotten better, I like the new displays a lot. Hope this helps :)

    Thank you so much for your reviews of this and the Como 3.0 IGH. I've been debating between the Como 3.0 IGH and the Vado 3.0 IGH step through and honestly those two bikes looking almost identical in specs and it was really confusing the difference between them is but this review and your Como review really helped clarify a lot of things. Obviously you're reviewing the 4.0 here so there are things that don't apply but you were so thorough with both of them I can kind of extrapolate what the Vado 3.0 IGH step through would be like. Right now I'm really leaning towards the Vado over the Como. The Vado just looks a little more robust and I like the handlebar situation better.

  • @rexvaughn986

    Curt, I just purchased a 5.0 turbo vado. I find the range estimator on the mastermind computer to be very inaccurate. Really disappointing for a bike at this price point. What was your experience?

  • @Philscbx

    A little odd with stand down that the forks didn't turn left as they would have if on normal surface
    so that the wheel was not in the way removing battery.
    Maybe I missed comment where wheel was going to be positioned & done intentionally to hit the fender
    when releasing the battery, Then left that way.
    Previous review by Specialized of the Vado and Como, internal gearing, step less shifting
    with Enviolo IGH, gear selection from a traffic stop was epic. Belt drive will be the way.
    Still not convinced with action of any of these designed front telescopic forks reaction to bumps.
    Appears to have too much internal stiction to respond. Springs too stiff, oil air not set up right?
    I'll need to find local shop to try show room floor test. A little rear suspension would be nice as well.
    Can't wait for review by anyone coming out of store with gallon of milk and typical items for breakfast
    with grocery tote bag, and now what, no saddle bags, so try to secure to rear rack or sling bag over handle bars.
    And hope it doesn't fail on first bump. Granted backpack is option.
    But a pitstop for six pack of beer for NFL is needed as well. Fans waiting are brutal.
    Cheers

    After only a few hundred dry miles from new I discovered pit marks on the chrome stanchions of my Vado 4.0 2022. Specialized told me to ask my dealer to put in a warranty claim to SR Suntour but they say rust is not covered under warranty. I am not impressed that a brand new £4000 bike can suffer rust despite never actually getting wet (UK weather is poor but I've never had this happen before) and that it is not covered by warranty. BEWARE !

      @howlingwolf125y Год назад

      @@cward2986 When I talk about an adjustable stem.. I have seen stems that are adjustable.. I have one on my bike. I mean adjustable in every way.. Make the handlebars higher or lower.. and you can make the handlebars closer to the rider or farther away from the rider. So you can get a custom adjustment that is perfect and comfortable for every rider. I can't believe that more bikes don't have an adjustable stem.. most bikes don't have an adjustable stem and that forces the rider to have only one position for the handle bars. And that one position, unfortunately, could be uncomfortable for the rider.

    i appreciate that you are going in to troubles to get these bikes to review them, but you are spending so much time telling us about the bike parts, which we can actually check out on the website. We are interested more on the way that the bike rides especially in difficult conditions, like hills, rough road, is the 70 NM enough? would 90 be better in areas with hills? How does this gearing system compares with shimano traditional gears....and more important technical staff. Not everyone has 4000$ dollars to buy a bicycle, its worth as much as a second hand car, so its actually a replacement in a way. So the more we know the easier to get an idea if it suits us or not. We don't really care to know so much about its looks. Don't take me wrong, you seem like a nice man, its just my opinion and where I live, I have no access to bikes like that and my area is full of hills. I need 35 minutes a day to ride to work and back.
