Sad there are not more videos on the como 5.0 IGH where are all users they are not posting. I have waited over 1 1/2 years for a new bike had to buy a Riese Muller Super Delite
It would be great, if the bikes were available for purchase! I’m in the GVRD in BC, Canada, and a Specialized rep from their website told me in an emailed response that ONE bike shop in Vancouver may get ONE Turbo Como 5.0 IGH sometime between September 2022 and June 2023. I can’t ride a bike that I can’t buy. Nice video though……. ;)
@@jjlad5037 I did! I managed to find a 2022 Turbo Como 5.0 IGH at a shop in North Vancouver; it hadn't been advertised, and it was overlooked in inventory. I've put 1000 km on it over the summer. Love it!
@@scottrushton453 ...Well done Scott. I was forced to park my Radwagon4 when the manufacturer recalled the bikes due to defective tires. Being a unique size, we're all beholden to Rad to send us replacements. When I got word that will only happen in March 2023, I knew I needed a replacement bike. The good news is the replacement was the Turbo Vado 5.0 IGH. Only put 30kms over the last 2-days, and although it's taking some getting used to, it's a fantastic bike. Have you made any adjustments to the Mission Control settings? And have you checked the belt tension? My belt is a little tight with an average 57Hz measurement. Not sure if I should adjust down to 50Hz, or let it stretch a bit with use?
@@jjlad5037 I haven't made any adjustments at all; though I did have 2 regular services done. One after the first 2 weeks, to make sure everything was spec, and then the 500km service check. Our local bike shop here services Specialized. The only issue I had was the brakes dragged a bit, but a minor and easy adjustment.
Yes, you can select your preferred cadence anytime from the bikes control panel. The IGH will then automatically adjust to meet your new preferred cadence.
I just got a vado 5.0 igh, and I assumed the rear light also functioned as a break light, but mine does not, is there some setting I should change, or is there a problem, or was I mistaken. When I looked up Spanninga Commuter Glow XE, 12V, they advertise a safe stop feature, so I am confused. Does safe stop mean something else?
I love the bike, but little things keep breaking, and there isnt a lot customer support can or will do for me. Authorized dealers may file a warranty claim in certain circumstances but will charge me for most of my problems. The alarm/remote lock is over rated, almost useless. A person can be halfway down the bock before the alarm goes off and you can still ride the bike when its locked, the motor jost will not assist you. I do like the IGH automatiq, especially not having to worry about being in the right gear if I am stopped on a hill. The best feature on the bike is the radar, I feal so much safer knowing when cars are approaching me from behind. My bike doesnt sit well on the kickstand, I need to ask a dealer to check that out, the bike tips over so easily, I dont know if they are all like that or if my bike wasnt assembled correctly. I brought it up to customer support several times and they dont even aknowledge the complaint when they reply. They say bring it to a dealer and maybe they will file a warranty claim, but they cannot guarantee me that I will not be charged for diagnostic. The range is what I expected, I am heavy, right at the edge of my bikes max capacity. The way I ride( mostly in sport, and turbo for hills) takes me about 40-45 miles on a single charge. I am sure I would be able to go further if I spent more time in eco mode.
Prolly only a couple of pounds. The motor and the suspension has alot of the weight. A smaller frame wont matter much, this isnt meant to be a small commuter bike. Lectric One just came out with a belt/auto transmission if your after a smaller commuter bike.
Yes it can take about 15% but thats why it makes more sense on an electric bike. Also thats a max where we assume derailleur system is clean, new and well maintained and this is true for most systems. Also you have to be perfect in shifting to not overload the motor and keep it in its perfect band. The Enviolo automatic handles that all for you so in real world the loss will be way less and the comfort and less hassle is a big plus. For example just stopping and riding away at a traffic light is always smooth and correct without you doing any effort the system is always in the correct gear. I do feel that if you go for the Enviolo go for the automatiq you gain the most from this new concept. I use one but on a different brand.
This is a paid ad so does anyone actually own this bike and how does it perform ? I just bought a Priority Current with IGH and not sure I can ever go back to chain again. Looking for something with a little more power like the 90 nm the 5.0 puts out. And that auto shifting might be very cool to have.
@@fionanburke3084 the numbers priority puts out our complete nonsense. Be 140 NM and 500 watts. Somehow they've multiplied their numbers by about two. Having said that the lightweight in the thinner tires go real good on paved bike paths, but on steeper hills you can tell it's a little down on power compared to the higher output bikes.
I have the Turbo Como 5.0 IGN. I have covered nearly 500 miles on this bike. There are fors and against as in most bikes. This is a very heavy bike so if you have to put on a towing hitch beware. I like the style and the step through and the high bars make it a nice riding position .If you go to go through a gateway it can be hard to manage holding a gate open and pushing bike through, as unlike most bikes you can control with one hand on the handle bar head in the centre, but on the como with the high swept bars and mission control in the centre makes it difficult to control with one hand. Gear changes are smooth once you get used to the set up which can be frustrating sorting out mission control. When you coast and start peddling again you feel the motor trying to catch up. I found that I pedal faster on this bike and if you look at some of the promo videos they seem to pedal fast as well.I find the pedal crank is about 1.1/2 inches longer than my previous ebike and it sometimes catches the ground as you do a moderate turn. The radar works fine out on the country roads and is a good feature to have although in the city it would be going off all the time. The battery is good for about 45 miles as I found out the weekend, lucky I was only a few yards from home as it was hard to peddle without power. So once you sort out the characteristics of the bike it goes fine, but I wouldn't say it felt natural. Would I spend 5,500 on this bike again ,,,, probably not.
Test rode the vato 5.0 and fell in love with the automatic shifting and comfortable ride. Too Short a ride to know how I will really like it later but with the 2.3 inch wide tires and suspension front and seat that thing was so smooth. I also own a priority current with belt drive but hate the grip shifting and no suspension and skinny tires makes it a rough ride. Can't wait to try my auto shifting belt drive Vado next week. Not cheap but $2,000 less than my full suspension mountain bike.
Nope, sitting upright is the most comfortable position to be on a bike. Hunched over is better for off-roading, but the trade off is less comfort than upright on paved streets.
@@MichaelPowell75 why would you want it registerable as a motorcycle? Then you wouldnt be able to ride on bike trails, have to carry insurance, buy tabs, etc. Hard pass......
