I watch this video every single day.
I had no idea you did Jiu Jitsu.
Makes Mac Lethal that much more of a down to earth guy. I’m gonna try to make it to your show in Cambridge Massachusetts on 4/25/18
You must know it by heart by now
You must be bored out of your mind.
Same
I got my brown belt today, came home, sat down to watch this, and I have to say, this is the first video ever on youtube that made my tears come out.
I didn't cry for like 10 years as long as I remember...
And man, this tears are for fuckin pride.
Thank you so much.
Tomorrow will be a great day.
JIU JITSU!
we are on all this thogheter bro ... oss
MMA House yes sir !!!
This comment was three years ago, how is your progress now?
Its because it expresses everything inside of you that u feel for this art .Does the same thing to me .Congrats on brown belt
Congrats my brother. My God Bless your journey. Much respect.
What I love about Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is that no matter how good you are, there is always someone that could make you look like a white belt. BJJ is so good for creating a great athlete. Instead of throwing a ball around or just sitting on the bench, everyone gets involved in BJJ, no matter what skill level someone is at. I also love how BJJ is just knowledge. Tapping out is admitting that we aren't the best, but it shows that we still have to learn. Black belts are just white belts that don't give up.
+Firstname Lastname You're so right my friend :)
Great comment Bro. Oss!
So true brother
Black belts are just white belts that dont give up!
Thank you for this gem!
If A Black Belt Is A White Belt That'll Never Quit Does That Make The Black Belt A Junior White Belt?
I was once paralyzed. I love Jiu Jitsu despite my difficulties. I will die happy doing Jiu Jitsu for the rest of my life.
Ossss!!
+Bandito De La Flor (SugarforLiberty) how about now .
Abdul Farah still in it almost to blue belt.
thats amazing bud wish you the best. i was asking about the state of
paralysis.
Abdul Farah I am healed now still weak on my left side but I have a deeper appreciation for life
Started at 50 when my kids started, now the wife does it too. I’m fitter in mind and body than I have ever been. The addiction is real 😂🤙
Thats Inspirational !!
@@steviewright6886 thanks mate , still grinding and recently got promoted to Blue👌👌
Congratulations on your blue belt my friend. Iv only been training in jiu-jitsu for just under a year iv competed in boxing for 21 years and that's always been my passion but after my first jiu-jitsu lesson at age 36 I was completely hooked now I can't get enough .
Keep fighting brother.
Found Jiu Jitsu at 47, I'm even older now, wish I would have found it earlier, but so glad I found it. If you are on the fence, and can lay down your ego, go for it, it will change your life. God Bless.
I am 48 Im going to walk in at Brea BJJ, I am wondering where the journey takes me.........
Amen , thankyou
I am 50 years old being training martial arts and boxing since I was 8 years old being doing Jiu jitsu for just over 1 year now, BJJ is the best thing I have ever done.
Catch wrestling / no gi grappling did all this for me and still does now. It makes me look at life from a different perspective. I know my vulnerabilities and my weaknesses and understand where I need to improve but at the same time I'm more confident. I don't have a false sense of security like what fake mystical martial arts give you, I'm aware of my humanity and how life is just a bunch of small choices and as such I don't fear adversity anymore.
Respect to all martial arts brothers. Sambo, Muay Thai, boxing, Brazilian jiu-jitsu and Kali/escrima. I hope you all find clarity in what you do.
Jiujitsu has generally saved my life! I’m not going into the specifics but I feel I am
Becoming a greater and more humble person than I once was👍🏻🥋
At 37 I have decided to start learning jiu jitsu. For a long time I made excuses. I told myself I was too old to start, too out of shape, or that I did not have enough time. I know now this was life offering my resistance that I must overcome. I am still very new to this amazing art, but it already has had a profound effect on me. No matter how shitty of a day I am having, after a jiu jitsu class I always feel infinitely better. The air almost tastes sweeter, and I am happy and grateful to be alive.
So in the words of the great Kurt Osiander "GO TRAIN!" OSS!
Cheers to that from another 37 year old white belt!
Much hespect my brozhino
You guys inspire me. I am a few years older than you. I have done martial arts my whole life. But BJJ has always been in the back of my mind. I tried it for a few months...but I think the teach just wasn't right. You just kind of know...makes sense? I've always looked up to Rickson. Now his son Kron is doing very well. I am still in my journey to find the right school and then maybe find myself in this art so that I can add it to my lifestyle. Thank you.
get into it my bro!!
I started jiu jitsu at the age of 38. It is now 3 years later and I still love it. Due to work, an ill family member, and injuries, I have not been able to train consistently over the last 3 years and I'm not a blue belt yet. But I'm still working on it. :)
I'm a 41 year old man who works full time. I hit the mats 3x a week and i love BJJ!
How’s it going? You struggle with injuries?
I’m 51, only been training a month and tore my groin.
So disappointed.
You both old as f^^ck
Omaha Wellness I’m 19 but feel your grind keep it up thanks for sharing hope your still on it today
It's a way of life...welcome brotha 😎💯🤙
@@brownh4944 do you stop on ageing? You dont go old ? Every year you don't make birthday? .... that's wat I though
I just got my purple belt 2 hours ago🙌🏽❤️ jiujitsu saved my life
It saved mine as well, I always lived in fear of everything, it stole the first 20 years of my life, Jiu Jitsu showed me another side of life I never knew of. RESPECT TO YOU IN YOUR JOURNEY OF LIFE.
congratulations.. Purple is a huge step
I left JJ as a blue belt over 7 years ago due to life and the curveball I was unable to hit until now...mainly ego. It took me 7 years to lose it, and accept humility. The lessons we learn on the mat, and relationships we make, both transcend the tangible rewards we fool ourselves into chasing. It's the intangible that truly helps us find the person within that we always wish to be. I wish this was a lesson I learned so many years ago, but I thank God that he helped me find a way back to this beautiful art. Godspeed to all my BJJ brothers and sisters. Great video, Stuart. Thank you.
Taj Mahal OSS brother
...and to you the same, brother. Hope to hit the mats with you someday.
General Zod
Are you back?!?! 🤙🏼
Oss 🤙🏼
Yes sir spot on. I have done the same. Thanks. Much love to you brother.
Don't ever give up rolling. Life will suck, you'll hate yourself, and feel miserable every single day you don't roll. Never let "life get in the way".
Jiu Jitsu saved my life.
After watching this, I’m going back to training, and I’m NOT going to stop again! I’m going to continue and train as hard as I can until the day I die!!!
Hope you're still going!
Can't wait till I am at the point where I can open my own academy and teach those lost in the world and how jiu jtsui helps you find your self!
BJJ is such an amazing sport and I'm so happy to continue my journey. ❤ OSS
this made me really emotional.
Honestly this made me emotional as well. There is something about Jiu Jitsu that I can't find a way to explain to others. I just feel at peace with myself and just a more calm person in general. Jiu Jitsu really does change lives.
A V you are not alone on all fronts
I've been doing it for 2 months today and it's helped me more mentally than anything I've done in my 23 years on this planet so far it got me through losing one of my childhood freinds not even a week after I started my journey to better myself. Just being on the mat makes things easier for me it just pulls me out of my mind even when I mess something up and start to get hard on myself it's nice knowing that everyone around you has been at that stage before and is willing to help you get past it.
This sport has changed my life in the short 2 months it's been in my life so far and I'm exited to see where it takes me
God has blessed my life and kept me safe (you can get injured doing martial arts). when you start martial arts at 3 years old its hard to imagine what life would be like without training. im sure I would be a different person without it. for people who do not know, there is alot more to it than just the fighting you see on ufc. it really is a way of life.
Deep message, great visuals - awesome vid Stu!
I love Jiu Jitsu, even when I have to RUclips videos on how to re-set a popped rib and manage injuries all the time. It takes a special kind of person to put up with the pain and go through this journey. Respect for you all. For the last year, I have days when I want to stop doing it, then I leave class on the same day euphoric and high.
That’s beautiful !!!!
Thanks brother 🙏
I suffer with anxiety and finding it hard ta get into class. I've talked to an instructor and he's Gunna help me over come it. Can't wait ta get started 🤟
Bro i used to suffer with a lot of anxiety before i started my Jiujitsu journey. i remember my first day turning up to my very first class. I looked through the window and was terrified to go inside. I turned back around to my car and said to myself I'm not going in there. As i started to walk away my Professor opened the door and saw me. He invited me inside so then i had no choice because i didn't want to be rude. He asked me if i was going to train and i said no i'll just watch for today. But he made me feel very comfortable and introduced me to everyone. After a few sessions of watching i realized there was nothing to be worried about. Each time i turned up to train the anxiety got less and less. At first i could barely look people in the eye and wasn't used to shaking peoples hands. It took a good year or so for me to really open up and get comfortable. 11 Years later I'm teaching Jiujitsu for a living and helping other people feel comfortable who walk through the door as that used to be me. This is why i make videos on the sport to show people how this sport can really help you in your everyday life. All the best Alex! keep showing up and it gets much easier and more fun as time goes on.
@@stuartcooperfilms thanx for the reply. Really appreciate ya comment. Luv ya videos and keep up tha good work 👍
This video still gets me every time. There's a lot of things I regret in my life, but waking up, going to class and training is NEVER one of them. Even on my worst days and the days I was injured I am thankful that my body can move and what it needs to do. Next to having my son, Jiu Jitsu is the best thing I have in my life today. Lovato Jr's observation that: You intersect with so many people that you would never talk to had it not been for this martial art really hits deep and you don't realize how different but the same we all are.
I watch it every 2 weeks for sure!!!!
Never in a million years did I think I would be doing Jiu Jitsu and now at 30yrs old its what I look fwd to every week! I love the friends that I have made on this journey and will continue to do so. Such a powerful martial art that has made me a better, father, husband, friend and better person all around.
The mat is the place where I find peace ...
Stuart, this video has stood the test of time. It still carries such a profound, powerful message. Thank you in 2014, thank you in 2021, and thank you in the future
Thankyou 🙏
I whole heartily agree with Dean Lister. We as humans were not meant to work the way we do in this system. That's why so many people are sick and depressed. The whole system has no time for passion. It's slavery without chains. It's imperative that you make time for your passions in life or WTF is the point. Luckily iv came back to JJ later in life I'm nearly 40 but it's never too late. I will never stop now until the day I die, it's not about belts for me, it's about learning and simply loving what I do.
This... This is one of the best videos I've ever seen on the Internet. This is absolutely marvelous. No words.
I've only been doing it for 7 months and there is nothing more in the world that I love more than jiu jitsu. It's simply the best thing ever created. I will dedicate my entire life to practicing it, as it makes me better in every single aspect of life. I have a hard time even sleeping at night because of how excited I am to wake up and go. I even decided to take a job for less money just so I am able to train the amount I want. Thanks Jiu Jitsu
Wow wow wow! I got a little tear up. A wake up call! Like dan listner said . " if something doesn't make u happy then dont do it " i just turned 55 of this year and im in a bad funk. Health wise ect. I need to go back to jiujisu. No matter how hard it is. I want to be happy with in my self and a brother hood. Thank you.
Reggie Anglin all the best man. Thanks for the comment. Hope you get back to jiujitsu and it lifts your spirits again!
we have hard times in life and we have to go through them, I know this. If you can plan it, get away from what you dislike
i watch this once everyday,
I do too
Still watching in 2016...anyone?!
ya
+jiu jits you Good lad!
+x SGB yep still watching! good stuff
First time watching this video. Monday is my first lesson. Im already in love
I watch this video at least one time a week.
I really needed to see this. Feeling dead inside, this will help until I am able to train again. Thank you.
I hope you are doing better now buddy. 🫲🤜
"Every roll is an honor" this is the mentality that i carry moving forward into this new lifestyle,I'm a white belt but I'm going to honor ,appreciate and sharpen every lesson and every belt, because, when that belt is gone and I receive the next one there's no putting it back on...this is my humble advice to those like me about to begin this amazing journey..OSS
This got me emotional and I’m only 4 lessons into my Bjj journey ! Definitely starting to feel how the people in the video feel about bjj
Im 39 years old i just got my second strip on my white belt i feel like i learned so much already and yet nothing
I've been doing Jiu Jitsu for 15 years and every day I train I usually learn something. Its the best thing I ever started and I don't plan on ever stopping.
Every film you do is better than the last. This one is very spiritual in the essence of Jiu Jitsu. I am amazed by this video. Thank you Stuart, keep up the good work brother.
Still watching this video all these years later and still training every day. Oss
Just when I think your films couldn't get any better… this one I truly connected with and needed to hear. Thank you
61 and I will never stop training.
And, THAT, is how it's done. Sterling job, Stuart Cooper.
first my god then my jiujitsu it helps me in every aspect in life

This video hits on so much. Makes me reflect on a tough part of my life and how Jiu-Jitsu has helped fill a void I have had for so long. Great Video!
Powerful.
When I try to explain to people why I have such a love for Jiu Jitsu I never can find the words to express it. Now I no longer have to... I can just point them to this video because it does it better than I ever could.
Well done sir, well done.
#BJJ
this is beautiful, this is poetry.
this video left me speachless. jiu-jitsu the way of life...
this is the greatest thing ive ever watched.. brilliant.
This video played a big part in people’s Jiu Jitsu journey five years ago I first watched this crazy! Been a couple years from last time I seen it. It’s still got that same feeling 🙏🏼
NZ CREST that’s awesome to hear! Thankyou

More than a sport, more than an art!
Awesome video! Thank you so much for this!
God bless you. I needed to see this video. Hugs from brazil.
love this. Well done mate. Good to see you are still enjoying doing this stuff.
It’s amazing and beautiful inspiration..
I have my up and downs in Jiu Jitsu(trained 2 years still a White belt no stripes) but i truly love the sport an will train until i die! This is inspiring and everybody should try Jiu jitsu the world would be a better place. Beautiful video describing the qualities in life
Thanks for inspiring me bro! The fact that your instructor hasn't given you a stripe yet means he/she knows what they're doing. You seem to get the big picture of it all tho. Keep training hard!
+Jake Paul a month after that comment I got 3 stripes from my instructor! No he told me he was testing me to see if I would quit. I'm so happy I didn't :D great to know I inspire others I live bjj and will train until I die! Go on train hard Bro
absolutely amazing video and words to live by. Fantastic Job.
Great vid man. I love all your videos, so keep them coming!!!
Wow. This video helped me jump up and get ready for Jui Jitsu class. Great video guys.

Couldn't be said any better! Thanks guys!!☝️
Andre Galvao is a monster. I honestly don't think there is anyone who trains as hard as him. It's like he never sleeps or something, and he always has plasters around his hands and feet.
I must of watched thing thing over 50 times. epic!
thanks, stuart! keep up the great work!
This video always makes my day. This explains Jiu-jitsu in such a beautiful way. Thanks Boss!
Its great to see a vision like this. Brings home a very true message that all should be aware of. From all martial arts, sports or any dedication, awareness is key. Its how we bring in new interest which adds to the family.
Nice work Stuart!
Looking forward to much more
great as always
loved your video stuart, i feel like i have no more the inocent look of the begining that would made me at moments like that a full being. time to surrender, not in any fight, but surrender to life true nature and to yourself is the most beautiful act. it makes you see, it makes you feel, and alive and be happy. :)
Im 29 year old i wanna change my life around ima join jujitsu
Did you do it? How's it going?
Did you? I started 2 weeks ago.
