Sure, the sword I am sharpening today will be broken eventually; but the swordsmanship you are passing on to others will transcend through generations to come. Thanks my brother.
👏👏👏👏👏 well said
Thank u for the impulse! I like the train of thought! Train!
Profound inspiring words indeed
Even as a Judoka, this is very inspiring and emotional for me. As someone who has struggled all his life trying to find purpose, love, fulfillment, and dealing with an almost fatal depression, I have finally found something that makes sense to me in a world where I feel like an outsider.
Well, we basically do the same thing in Judo (Ne Waza), just not nearly as much. I plan to do BJJ one day but right now Judo has captivated my heart
Lightupthe Darkness jThe only difference are the rules! I know a few judoka very good on the ground (newaza)
Jodu is the brother art of BJJ
❤️
Judo saves me daily mentally. Martial arts is so much more.
I survived a massive heart attack last year that statistically most people don't. Returned to the mats two months later and every day back has been a blessing. Because of that experience, I sometimes feel like I'm on borrowed time. That some day, I'll have to pay the piper, fold up my gi, and put it away forever. Nic's sword analogy reminded me somberly of this bittersweet understanding. But it is a reality for another time... and not today.
defcon i think you got a chance to live, find out the reason that you are living for! whay do you think you got a chance while so many ppl dont survive,! if you need help you can contact with me and i will help you

please don´t delete this video, i need this forever :D
still coming back after 4 years and watching this, still getting goosebumps
I'm 35, and just starting week 4 of this journey, and so excited to take this on. In my first class I knew: I am in this for life. Thank you for showing what an incredible journey awaits.
you quit?
We know that one day our sword will break. Today's not that day. I love it!
Deep...
May our paths cross someday
Helio's sword did not break until 10 days before his death. Meaning no matter what, he did not give up and was careful about his body.
Why am I getting chills?
In the statement about each of our craftsmanship of our art will one day break, and that our bodies - we know - will one day not be able to carry on... Part of that statement is crushing, but the other part is lifting. :) I am luck to be 17 and have a lifetime ahead of me with this art.
try not to break your sword guys, hurts like hell
The story of the train journey. I've had that. It's a special feeling to be recognised as "one of us"... This was touching..
This video brought tears to my eyes - it sums up everything I feel about Jiu-Jitsu (or just martial arts overall). God bless you for making this video - now I can show my friends and family, and hopefully they can finally understand what drives me to train at the gym, and travel around the USA shooting IBJJF tournaments. Again, GOOD WORK!!!!
unfourtunately most wont thats been my experience. oss
I watch the spirit of jiu jitsu before my bjj classes, almost every day ☺. And now the sequel! Nic, your jiu jitsu techniques and concepts have been very helpful. A genuine thank you from me to you!
"Se você conhecer o caminho, irá vê-lo em todas as coisas."
- Miyamoto Musashi
I've had numerous injuries through other sports/martial arts with the last one causing me to be a shadow of what I once was. I came to jiu jitsu already broken and have to train accordingly. I feel honoured to clean the mats after rolling and blessed to be a part of the brotherhood as there are those who are not able to do the same....never give up. Respect.
"This is my temple. This is where I feel the strongest connection with God or the Universe. This is the place I feel most present." Love this quote. BJJ mentality applies to almost anything in life.
He seems to enjoy his life through jiujitsu.. such an inspiring person!
This is someone that has travelled further down the path taking a moment to turn around and let you know whats down there. Awesome. Thankyou Nic. Oss.
Sensei You understood a perspective and depth of life through Ju Jitsu.
The sword analogy reminded me of the ending of "Gladiator" when Juba was saying farewell to Maximus with the line "I will see you again... but not yet. Not yet!" We will all eventually face that end of the journey, but not yet!
AMEN ! This is so true No matter whats going on in life i can hit the mat and know everything will be ok and work itself out
Jiujitsu the way of life...✊ this video was an courauges story and journey...
Why am I tearing up tho ?
This is the best bjj vid I have seen in a LONG time...and there are a lot of good ones.

Such a great video nic. the quotes that you say are so inspiring. OSS
Really made me feel something toward the end. "...today is not that day."

"Someday the sword will break but today is not that day!"

A black bet is something too work for but isn’t the thing to work the knowledge, the beauty of the art, the mat time, meeting new friends is
Very beautifully said and inspiring ❤️ Thank you for sharing 😊🙏🏻
Wow this was amazing thank you for this wonderful video
As a martial arts practitioner I can exactly feel the bond which we share with other fighters. The bond we share, the brotherhood..shedding sweats n blood together is beyond words. For some martial arts may be a sport while for others it may be self defence techniques but anyone who is on this path knows that martial arts is beyond sports or self defence. It's a WAY OF LIFE which will continue till the END.I m honored to be follower of this path.
Love this.
Great breakdown of the journey...thx brother.
this hits home. its so powerful
I still can not see the way in everything but I love the exciting journey that BJJ offers and most of all how it helps discover oneself...
Thank you Nic...thank you...Namaste...
Awesome video thank you for sharing
Thank you for making this video
So true! Love this!
Great video mate, summed up the art beautifully. Word cannot do the path that we walk and the struggles we go through justice. However the sinking boat analogy is very concise and profound.
Thank you.
Thank you a lot! Salute from Brazil brother! Oss!
Nic this was really special. Thank you.
This is great.

Amazing video, thank you for the content and inspiration. If you haven't already, would be awesome to hear you talk about what it means to "become more human" thought that was an interesting statement on your wall.
wonderful video. very inspiring for me
awesome!
Great video, live the quote on the belt at the end.
Well said. Thankyou
As you said we recognize each other as a BJJ practitioner on little details ... but more than the BJJ community and in the addition of the video "spirit of Jiu jitsu" from Stuart cooper we recognize awaken people as well, so thank you so much Mr Gregoriades to spread this awaken and wise vision of jiu-jitsu which is what I love and keep me going through the journey...
Lot of respect from a French BJJ practitioner.
Oss
you look enlightened brother.
oss
well done
I feel like jiu-jitsu can make your conscious mind feel a complete totality & discipline approach & humble walking through the world knowing what your mind is capable of doing . Yin yang ☯️ 🌊⚡️.
Wow that was pretty amazing!
Well I'm motivated anyone else
First I sleep

It's true. The martial arts have been as close to a religion as I've ever found.
Well dang ! I'm motivated as heck.
Today is not that day.....Oss
One day the sword will break, but today is not that day.
"Today is not that day."
any martial art develops your brain. a real champion takes everything in.
great video, nic.
I agree that the mat is my temple as well.
Watched this before I trained today. So inpirstional. Thanks Nic..
^ inspirational
Bought all your programs. Anyone who wants to be a great player should. It's helped me tremendously. Thanks Nic.
Wonderful video, full of love and purpose: doing your best everywhere, every time. Beautiful text and images. Thank you very much. Thank you. But, being sincere, for non native english people (or a little deaf), the back sound/music too much high. It makes difficult to understand words, a training combat. Thank a lot for such a inspiring video.
Thank you l
oss!
Really well made video, good stuff!
I’ve seen this video for years and just dawned on me, is that Hasim, purple belt?
I remember my first hobby
I feel a pull to Japan as well because of hibachi chicken with vegetables and fried rice!
Carpe Diem! I'm thinking of joining there.
