  • We had the opportunity to try out the sister car - same platform - as the Huawei Luxceed - the EXLANTIX ES - ready for overseas markets. In an extremely competitive field - how does it stand out against its competitiors?

Chinese took the interior and exterior design to a whole new level! Amazing! and the button (from the inside) opening the door location is perfect!

People outside China often use BYD as a symbol of Chinese EVs. In fact, Chery export more passenger cars than other Chinese brands. Their cars are usually of general folks' workhorse, instead of flashy toys. However, by the look of this sedan, they are entering into something else. With years of hardwork, they have sort out the art of building good cars.

Subscribed. Such a good video. I love BYD’s blade battery and DM-i technology. Also like more competition. A BYD Seal costs $30 in Australia but it sells for $52k in Europe. I guess we are lucky in Australia that we can save $22k to spend in somewhere else (eg, groceries, eating out, holidays, education, clothing, even paying bills), which again enhances GDP as a whole and creates lots of jobs in many industries in Australia.

And Australia is finally waking up to EVs after being delayed for quite a while - I love the enthusiasm for these cars and technologies when I visit.

When will come the day we stop nicknaming everything as German this or German that. It’s a Chinese well made car which has become the usual unlike lots of western product that almost go into the scam side of things for the price they pretend the consumer to pay

If I calculated correctly that's over 5 mi/kWh, that's GOOD. I'm happy to see efficiency moving forwards.
edit - The above was figured on what Eliot says at 6:40. Figured on the numbers in the graphics at 7:10, it's only 4.2 mi/kWh, more believable and MUCH LESS spectacular.

At the time of filming this was based off their most efficient domestic model. After filming we were told there’s only one international model (for now) with those specs.

Many manufacturers retain the bonnet design, to utilize as a 'soft' zone for the NCAP pedestrian safety requirements.

Chery Chairman Yin Tongyao has confirmed Indian conglomerate TATA-owned Jaguar Land Rover group (JLR) will use Chery's platforms on certain future vehicles developed by the premium British brand.
JLR’s future PHEV and BEV models will sit on Chery's 'M3X' and 'E0X' modular architectures that currently underpin Chery's Exlantix ET, Exlantix ES, Luxeed 7, Luxeed R7, Exeed RX and Chery Tiggo 9, etc.

Cherry has a bad reputation in Australia, as their earlier petrol smaller car filed ANCAP safety tests and only achieved 1 star, and was banned for sale in some states. they have their work cut out for them to reverse that in Australia, I hope they can do it, as more Evs on the road the better.
