I think music can help a lot for our understanding about the story, and comparing both Zoldieck themes, i still think this one fits them better. The new one is not bad, when you listen to it you can easily get the message, that they are a bunch of merciless cold assassins, but the old one makes me feel as if they are highly above any other assassins in the world, as if no one can stand their power, because the organ is just such a powerfull and deep sound. When Illumi first revealed himself, with that song playing, that song made that scene feel like a big deal, you could basicaly feel the darkness inside Illumi's soul just looking into his eyes and listening to that song, but in the new anime, that same scene didn't had as near as much impact the as old one did, it was actualy pretty fast. But as i said, that one fits them better, just for you to understand the abysmal diference of power around them and the rest of the assassins in the world, helps you figuring out that you are never actualy going to fully understand them.
I wouldn't call that terrible pacing. They just had no choice. If i recall correctly, the manga was release in 1998 so the 1999 couldn't go faster than the actual manga, they couldn't make up stuff. So they had to fill the gap with what you said filler, or unnecessary content. So that was approx 10 episodes worth of delay i guess compared to 2011 (1999 stopped after Kuroro vs Zoldick and the fake dead bodies and it was the 62th episode while that scene was in the 50th-55th episode of 2011). Furthermore, with Togashi injury it would have been even slower. So 2011 had more backstory to rely on and Togashi's help which i doubt 1999 got. So yes, 2011 is a better adaptation because it had a lot of advantages that 1999 didn't have at that time. I'm not saying 1999>2011 or 1999

It´s not comparable with the Christian hell in which souls suffer retribution for their past. In Yomi, all deceased carry a dark existence in perpetuity. Another big difference with Christian real of dead, Yomi looks like to be a geographical continuity with land of the livings, instead of being another dimension. Is Kukuroo Mountain the HunterxHunter Yomi??? :O

Because while it fits Illumi (cause yes, he's creepy, scary and can actually be seen as mock-vampire in HxH universe with his dead eyes and very pale skin color)...it doesn't fit with the whole Zoldyck image. It doesn't fit with Killua. The 2011 one represents the majestic and mighty Zoldyck, with a choir singing "Zoldyck" over and over again to emphatize how the family business runs (family business runs first and foremost).

I disagree. This music with creepy organ makes it look like it fits some vampire scenes more lol. It does succeed in making the image and representation of "creepy, scary badass vampire" ones... However the 2011 one, which is full of orchestra and choir, making it fits the whole Zoldyck image; majestic, badasss, top-above-all, and more importantly, unity for family's cause.
