Love this! Goodness me! I have to say tho, Dirty Loops and Cory Wong was such a good collab. Especially cuz they don’t have a guitarist, and Cory was the perfect match imo P.S I remember seeing a video on RUclips, where Cory Wong was showing another dude an old video of Wooten, and Cory talked about seeing that as a kid and it inspired him to be an entertainer/musician. So lovely to see him share a stage with one of his ultimate heroes.
I'm an old fart, and I like to say my musical taste solidified in the early 1990's, and I seldom like what is being done today, but this one ROCKS. Jeff, are you sure this isn't the Jazz Messengers ???
i first heard Victor Wooten when he was Playing with Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. it was a live show at American University in Bangkok and sponsored by the American Embassy. i've been a fan ever since.
You can see Victor really struggling during this show with his focal dystonia, those middle fingers on his left hand did not want to uncurl. That's why he is playing the octaves weird, is because his case of dystonia makes those fingers curl up when he holds a bass. He was having a good day for the show I went to from this tour. Absolute monster even when its acting up
Hmm, this tune reminds me of Average White Band's "Pick up the Pieces", but onnn Steroids☺️😳Wow. Wooten is in a class all his own! And Strat, keep up the great reactions. I'm pulling for ya!
It's really good to know those songs will still get played without needing to bring together both bands. Ellen Alaverdyan's bass teacher is hyper-cool! 😀 Happy, Healthy, and Peaceful New Year, Jeff and Everyone. ☮
Victor is one of my all-time favorite bass players. Unfortunately he has been fighting focal dystonia (a neurological condition that causes involuntary muscle contractions in his hands) for a number of years. It affects some of his fingers more than others. That is the reason for some of the “odd” fingerings you were pointing out.
Great video, great comment. To my opinion this kind of tunes, especially the work between the rhythm section and the horn section are based on the "Skunk Funk " period of the legendary Brecker Bros. Thanks a lot Jeff for the great comment.
Maybe try checking out sharay reed joy to the world. The first viral bass video with over 7 million views. Some of the best bass lines still out there.
This was so tight, it made my eyes water! and, VICTOR! My favorite bassist EVER!!
😂
Wooten doing Henrik's solo! I think Henrik must felt honored!

Sizzling, right?!
Absolutely amazing!! The level of musicianship is crazy!! The brass, the bass, the drums, what else can be said!! Love it❤️❤️
Love the two of them together. This song always makes me want to get up and dance. Happy New Year!
Happy New Year! I'm all in on everything Cory, Fearless Flyers and Kenni Holmen on sax. Throw in Victor and we're dragging the pot.

Brass for evah! Wow, what a jolt of energy and funk, had never heard this one.
You should no doubt check this same song but Dirty Loops' version along with Cory.

Cool jam.
Happy New Year Jeff. 🎉🎇🧨✨🎆
Happy New Year, Chris! 🎉🎉🎉
Victor is a beast. IMO, he's the best bass on the planet. The things he pulls out of that bass is mind-blowing!
