Thanks for the video! I was in Kanab for 5 days that included Superbowl Sunday, 2024. I do not have a 4 wheel drive vehicle, so I toured with local tour companies: Peekaboo slot canyon, South Coyote Butte (you need a permit), and White Pocket. A fantastic trip with jaw-dropping scenery! A trip I will always remember. Regards, Andy

My pleasure. Kanab is a special place being on the edge of the transition zone of the colorado plateau, it offers some amazing and very interesting geological aspects of the earth to see and touch and experience. It was very inspirational for me,so I made the video. I'm delighted that you enjoyed the video. Glad you had a good experience in Kanab. Regards and best wishes, Dan

Thank you for your comment. You are very welcome. I'm working on more videos, but at the moment, I have some issues in my personal life that I'm working through, and will probably delay my next video until December or so. Thanks again for your comment. Regards, dan

My Dad's band used to play at the "Buckskin Tavern" and we used to explore all over Utah and Arizona. Do you know where the dinosaur footprint baths are? They are footprints, so big, when it rains, they fill up and are big enough to sit in. I saw so many wonderful places around there. Thank You for bringing me back.

Dear Bev: Thank you for your comment ! I agree, Arizona and Utah are amazing places with so many wonderful features, it's easy to lose count. I do not know where the footprints that you mention are located. Where are they ? I'd like to check those ones out !! Sandi and I have visited many places in the western USA, but it's a big space, so it's likely that we missed one or two places in this area. Anyway, Thank you for the comment, and you are very much welcome for bringing you back. You should come back to Tucson. It's a great place to visit. regards, Dan

Hi there. There is a bar at South Rim. At the check In reception area for the Bright Angel Lodge & Cabins, there is a bar directly across from that desk. I worked a short season in 2019 and was a hostess at the Bright Angel Restaurant/bar was adjoined to it. Crazy loud in there. Also a nice souvenir shop& some hiking gear store there too. 😉

Ruby: Thank you for your comment. I appreciate you getting me straight about this issue. Both Sandi and I were unsure about it, but Sandi did notice the bar at the north rim and that brought up the question. Now I have a correct understanding. Thank you for the clarification on that. Again, thank you for your excellent comment !!! regards and best wishes, Dan & SAndi

Southwest Utah has some of the most interesting geography in the USA. Southwest Utah is on the western slope of the Colorado plateau, which results in geography with lots of vertical variation and colorful rocks which is the result of lots of water sculpted navajo sandstone.

Well Dan it’s sad that pepper is no longer in your buckskin video but looks like you’ve done a great job with your account, narration editing etc! Keep it up.

Red canyon, you better not only have 4wd and lockers but know how to use it. That sand is like talcum powder and bottomless

You are so right Uncle. thanks for the comment. People need to be prepared for the worst, because it's pretty bad stuff to get stuck in.

Mountain lions are very few and far between. Lack of prey to sustain them keeps numbers down.
