I'm from Germany and I've been to Kanab with my Dad in December 2018 and altough we just stayed for one night in that motel and visited the grocery store and Subway for Dinner during our ride to the Monument valley it felt like there's lots of "positive energy", not just comming from the beatiful nature which must be much more beautiful and more impressive in winter, especially for me since i've never seen such kind of landship in my whole life. I've just met a few people in this city but since they all were pretty nice it was a great feeling. It was also interesting to see another side of the USA since we've "just" been to San Francisco, Las Vegas and LA before but being there and staying there, even if it was just for an evening, it was a really nice experience and made that country even more interesting. I'll return as soon as possible :D

I loved my time in Kanab when I did the G2G in 2016. If it wasn’t for the fact that I’m from the UK, I’d seriously look at moving there. Beautiful place and people.

@@fallingstarranch9376 Turns out I purchased a manufactured home. After Covid the construction materials were crazy high. Bought a house from Redrock homes.
I wanted so bad to retire here that the last 5 years I visited this quaint little town in the winter spring summer and fall. There are 3 months in the winter where almost half the town folds up and is gone until the end of March. They have a hospital sort of but it's only first aid with no critical care. The closest full service hospital is in St. George 1 1/2 hours away. When you retire you need to be closer to healthcare. I will visit Kanab often. We moved closer to St. George.
Remember this when your town isn’t your town anymore. Soon, the kids who grew up here won’t be able to afford to live here. Speaking as a 30 year Kane county taxpayer, this is cashing in by selling out a rare & fragile way life to the colonizers from places already gone wrong. Just riding my real estate value up sure isn’t worth what we lose. Greed in the name of growth ruined the Wasatch, Moab & St. George & Park City.
At 4:25 right after showing Rocky V and just before Wild Thyme you see Canyons Hotel and Sego. Pretty good montage of the growing culinary scene in Kanab.
Don't forget the high suicide and drug overdose rates! Too bad no one wants to tell anyone about those things. Kanab is beautiful, but the community is terrible if you aren't Mormon and related to the business owners and police.
There are bad people and good people everywhere, you are just hating on specific town. You can go anywhere and find people and things you hate. The crime rate is low here, you are away from the loud busy city. Say what you want, anyone who lives here and hates it doesn't realize where in the world they are. Anyone who lives here should be grateful to live around this kind of natural beauty.

I lived in kanab during my childhood and absolutely loved it, and I'm dying to move back. This place is an outdoor enthusiast paradise. Just unreal.
