Hey guys! I'm Alexandra Gater and I show you how to do rental-friendly upgrades and DIY projects on a budget. New videos every Saturday! Today I'm turning this 375 sq ft tiny studio apartment into a boho dream with tons of bold colour. Even though this tiny studio is all open, I was able to create designated areas for the bedroom, living room and office using functional storage solutions (like the brilliant Ikea Kallax!) This is seriously one of my favorite makeovers. Truly AMAZING. But please, for the love of god cover up those cords!!! Especially for wall sconces. It looks extremely unfinished with the swag lamp not having a chain and it being an open exposed cord or a wall sconce not having a cord cover. Every time that cords are left uncovered it confuses and baffles me.

WHEW! I don't know what it was exactly but this episode had me so EMOTIONAL! The pure, ecstatic JOY when Ricki saw her new space for the first time, and especially when she saw her gallery wall of family photos, it just had me in tears. Ricki, you deserve this!!! I hope you're enjoying your space!

AG doing the voiceovers for Graham's INSANE custom pieces is always my favorite part because she makes it sound easy, he makes it look easy, but we all know it's just pure T A L E N T on his part. It shouldn't shock me anymore the things he can build. 🙌🙌

Exactly why I clicked it! While her usual aesthetic is beautiful, it's also predictable and not for everyone, in addition to slowly becoming dated with a certain era of DIY and YT design.

Wonderful job. The orange was just too bright for me. Perhaps if the unit under tv had been stained instead of painted, it might have toned the orange down a little. Sorry, loved everything else. Especially the work station. Damn, wish I could have seen the headboard.

I am actually so surprised to come across this channel. These kind of makeovers are usually so tacky and cheap looking but you truly go for good quality furniture and actually put in immense effort. Wow! Just WOW! I’ve been binge watching your channel and I LOVE your designs. The way you implement your client’s wishes and needs for functional spaces just makes me so happy and this show was one of my favorites so far.
My husband and I live in California (Northern) and he’ll be retiring in a few years. After a lot of research and soul searching, we’ve decided to stay and retire here in our home of 22 years.

I love that this is Alexandra's version of Jungalow, I love the use of bold colors, the textures and patterns, but still you know who did the makeover. As someone else mentioned it's so great to see diversity in the client as well as the style! Please keep them coming!

I immediately went online to purchase that amazing Jungalow palm mirror at Target, and besides being gorgeous, it weighs A TON. Just dragging it from my building lobby into my apartment was exhausting enough. I had to rest until the next day to take it out of the box. Unboxing is a real workout y’al!!! So I have even madder respect for Team AG for making unboxing look easy (it is not).

Yes! She had less furniture in the apartment and yet it felt much smaller. Alexandra’s redo made it feel like a bigger space.

Ricki's reaction is my favorite so far! It was so sweet as she noticed different parts of the room, I have to imagine that the team felt extra appreciated that day. All the custom changes were so functional and cool!
I really appreciate that they ask about the person's priorities for their space. Entertaining is fun but it's not the primary function for most people's tiny spaces, it was nice seeing all the thought put into her workspace. I also appreciate that even with minimal direction, they committed hard to the style in the video and got creative, rather than default to their own go-to styles!

I really enjoyed seeing this super bold makeover. The office and living room truly looks so beautiful. I think it would be even more perfect if the accent wall color were brought over just a bit more to the left to include the width that the kallax takes up, so that there's no little white gap no matter what angle you stand at, and it'd make the kallax feel a part of the wall since it's the same color!
Have to agree about extending the wall color. Maybe they planned to but sofa or rug size dictated otherwise. Love this too! But why not give her the headboard later? Especially once she sees the video, she's going to wonder the same thing. TFS
@@serenakoleno9338 That was my first thought about the headboard, that she could get it later. But upon seeing the final result, I think the headboard would have been too much in that small space, so it all worked out perfectly.
Perhaps they left the spare paint with Rikki and she can paint it herself later?
I think this has been one of your most elegant, beautiful/functional transformations. The wall color is an absolute hit, specially with the TV console (absolutely beautiful) and the Kalax painted to match... It really created a completely separate room. The 'office' chair is gorgeous with its touch of glam. Graham's creations were pure genious, fuction and beauty. Loved her reaction, she was blown away; I think you went beyond her expectations. Congratulations, love your designs and your wonderful team... All of you are very fortunate to work together.

Yes! I can't afford any new, or even "better" used furniture, so everything that I seek is as cheap as can be, (I have an extremely small Social Security income, so I pinch all my pennies hard!), so it's thrift stores, yard sales, Facebook Marketplace... all good sources when you have the time to keep looking.
@@julienicolay Yes me too. I did find a fantastic button back sofa for £130 last year on Facebook which was my best find yet. (Also I hope my original comment didn't sound like I was passing shade because I 100% wasn't. I love love love all the AG makeovers. The newest one was perfection.)

This was jaw dropping amazing. The design choices kept getting better & better as I was watching this episode. My mind was blown away at all the custom pieces Graham created also. I love how you painted the shelf the same beautiful color as the accent wall. It really made it feel like another wall and a separate room. The shelf divides the space but still lets in light. Graham and Alexandra talking in their accidental code about the light was so cute. It makes me happy that the team members all found each other and work so well together. That kind of time crunch and detail work would be super stressful if you don't mesh well with your coworkers.
You really listened to Ricki and I loved that she said "I knew you'd knock it out of the park." This is an inane transformation and so thoughtful. None of this is my style and yet I absolutely love it. It's what Ricki was wanting and the AG Team knocked it out of the galaxy. HOORAY!

You outdid yourself - love how you blended in the divider and added all the custom wood projects to make it special and functional. I love colorful boho and was ready to cry with you when that headboard did not arrive on time. The office space you created really works! Great job! I'm impressed how this small space still allows room for seating at the ''dining/breakfast" counter.

On the ergonomic chair thing - Haworth chairs come in like, every colour of the rainbow, including some oranges that would've looked stellar in this space!! They're not as styled as non-ergo chairs but it's at least an option

I love this - it is beyond a familiar style. It is her heart and soul as a person, as one deeply connected to her famil.y and her roots. All these dimensions of her are present and it's all adds up to an unmistakeable energy. Congrats to you Alexander for bringing it all to life!!!

This was sooo good! The colors just hug the eyes. She was so happy with what you guys did. Just so you know...been following you since day one and have been so inspired to fix my one bed room to the best function and appearance possible. Always improving what I can and planning on the next adaptive tweak to fit life. Design is my life....and has given my homes a style of my own. Am 75 now and remember moving furniture at least once a week to my doll house and eventually my various homes. Design and decorating are mental health hobbies for me and I am sure for many. Make a plan, work the plan, live the life you planned. Thank you for being such an ispiration to my design life.

And I love the wallpaper so much o think I would have wrapped it around corner toward the patio door. But I am currently figuring out what I can paint this orange in my home and where I can install that wallpaper 😍
