Hey Lydia, I had lingual braces a couple of years ago. I personally didn’t see much of a change in my speech. What I did find hard was the aches and pains throughout the process. Also sometimes I had issues with brackets / wiring sticking out and catching on my tongue. Things like that. It’s worth it in the end but would definitely say only do it if you ‘REALLY’ want/need it. It was more difficult than I anticipated, I think most people find the same with lingual braces. Just thought I’d say as I know before I had mine I was keen to hear from others that had had them, and I struggled to find anyone! 🤗

Oh nooooo! Not a cliffhanger!! I was so excited to see the beautiful planters🪻🌿🌸hopefully Monday! How lovely to have such an amazing teacher! Walking through each step is truly a wonderful way to learn just listening and watching someone else does not for me at least provide a meaningful experience. There are techniques such as building this structure that a novice may not implement that truly just takes the arrangement to the next level as well as knowing the variations of flowers branches to use! I for one would like to thank you both for sharing! I am off to the nursery to hopefully emulate this gorgeous Spring arrangement 🪻🌿🌹
Lydia, I don't often comment but I love how you invite us to come with you to the yoga. I would think someone living on their own would feel a warm glow that they are not lonely after all. You certainly do make us get off our arses and get on with our lives no matter where or how we live. You have so much time for your pets and it does make me laugh that before you got the bees you would run out of the greenhouse calling for Ali. Now you are looking at them all snuggled up in your greenhouse. So cute. You probably give more content than any other RUclipsr. Thank you. xx

I understand wanting to remaining private to protect the both of you but you don’t show too much. Love that you both are doing yoga together. And I think it’s great you took a floral arrangement class and shared it with us. I’m terrible at arranging flowers so it was wonderful to see. 😊❤️

I'm on the other side of 40 and I have had my braces on since August 1st. There's no time-frame or age limit for self improvement. I prefer the traditional route. I had them may years ago and never finished. I made the decision to complete the process. I facilitate meetings, perform trainings, etcetera and my colleagues never noticed the difference in my speech.

I had braces for the first time in my mid-late 20s, and I went all in with bracket (clear though but still metal wires). I have a client-facing role and didn’t find the braces hinder my speech. Maybe on the first few days as my mouth got used to it, but not bad at all. I appreciate my dentist for recommending ithem over Invisalign. I don’t regret that decision at all. It’s been about 10 years since I’ve gotten them off and they are still straight. I wear my retainer every night but I promise you, it’s all worth it!!
We must be twins in this world, I was going to write the EXACT same thing. I got braces when I was a personal banker and I was so worried that it would hinder my work and customer service but it did not. Have a great weekend
I do the same thing, I wear my robe when I do yoga sometimes because a certain somebody likes it very cold in the house. ❤
Getting your wisdom teeth is not fun but it’s really not that bad when there isn’t something very bad happening with them. I was really scared but it was so simple I always laugh when I think back on it.

The purple astrantia is beautiful and the waxflower looks like the manuka flowers that grow in New Zealand and manuka honey is produced from. I love simple branches at this time of year - nature is incredible - the awakening of the trees and the earth is incredible.
Wow..Thanks for letting us tag along to your arrangement class. I have taken many a flower arranging class, and never was taught the way she taught Lydia. I learned a lot, thanks for sharing. By the way Ali, Lydia, please do a video, devoted to you each of you takeing on one of the dogs voices. Then have an entire video from the pups and cat perspective on Mummie, and Diddies career , and what your fur babies probably THINK you both actually do for a living. Holy COW VIRAL VIDEO.. . It would be a RIOT. You two doing their voices lying in front of the stove. I thought I would wet my pants with laughter.
In my humble insignificant opinion, there is not wrong way to "do art" :) some art just speaks to you, some you enjoy for aesthetics etc. In many ways, it's the same with music and books etc.

I have meant to ask you for ages where do you get your eyes from - mum, dad or grandmas? They are unusual and you are lucky to have inherited such beautiful eyes. Do people always comment. I know a lot of people do not compliment and quick to chide slow to bless is the rule sometimes. Paul Newman was told to rinse his eyes in ice cold water to look after them.

I think the new piece of art is lovely but I can see a landscape in your office as well as you love walking and I think that would evoke good memories of your walks. A rolling fields and lovely light landscape. Art is fun to have but has to be right as you say.

I think you would love some Lisianthus. They are very hard to propagate but sometimes you can find plugs. They are so beautiful and last so long in a vase. They are an amazing cut flower and come in stunning colors.

Just wanted to let you know I was petrified of getting my wisdom teeth removed and I got all four removed and It wasn’t bad at all. If it’ll make your life easier down the line I would highly recommend getting It done sooner than later.
I had lingual braces during Covid! Best result ever! You won’t regret it

I had braces as a teen and again at 40. Best thing I ever did and only needed them 9 months in total. You have a great smile and fantastic teeth already but you won’t regret it and will probably wish you’d had it done sooner (still have my wisdom teeth). Not sure why they’re costing £7000 though. Mine cost just over £2000.

Lydia, do it, really... is incredible how braces work, I have proper braces not lingual , Iam using them because of my bite, ( I have straight teeth), just to avoid problems in the future ( I want to age with perfect teeth, my dream) and Iam in awe about how they are starting to look and is very interesting how it works of course is a long treatment but I don't care, teeth are super important!! So, do it!! Is something you are doing for yourself, you'll get use to them ( I hope), But is true that some people get headaches and etc. and for whatever reason they didn't cause any pain on me.. but do it !! Much love!!

I've never heard of lingual braces before and just looked them up -- modern medicine is amazing!! I had braces for 5 years as a kid, and for that reason I'm religious about wearing my retainer every night. If braces (lingual or regular) wind up being in your future, I'd say don't fret too much about the pain. The first two weeks were tough, but then you get used to it and the end results are so so worth it.
That was enjoyable to watch. Especially the floral lesson. love the idea of incorporating super market flowers with home grown cuttings/herbs. Although did i miss the 2nd bouquet made???

When it comes to art the only rule is you should love it. Anything other than love is replaceable.
That floral arrangement session was most satisfying!
It's been many years since having braces, or train tracks with elastics, however, the one thing I remember is the pain right you have them tightened. For me it didn't last long, but everyone is different. You would be right to take a break, just to adjust. Best of luck with that.

My work colleague is 61 and she just got braces...youʻre good.
I think Ali and you are a good influence on each other. I first had an orthodontic brace placed upstairs when I was 24 years old. A few years later, unfortunately, due to a problem with the first tooth, which had to be removed, I put a lower brace on. It was the best decision of my life. In fact, braces are annoying, but later it's just a matter of getting used to them. I keep my fingers crossed for you! Ps. I'm 40 now :P and that was 5 years ago ;) Don't worry about speaking, during my first I was working as a dj/radio presenter and I was hosting events. Just take the wisdom teeth out Lids, it's such a quick procedure and only a couple of days swelling till its all over. My wisdom teeth crowded and made the bottom teeth skew 😓 I don't want you to go through the process of braces that could be compromised by the wisdom teeth.

Im a bit older than you and about to get braces again too.
I had them as a teen and things moved a bit. X2 drs promised they could fix them up so x2 rounds of invisalign later and 2 drs bit the dust im now going elsewhere to do braces as a final resort.. lets just do it and its done! I know in my heart you can’t beat the results of braces i know because I’ve done it all
me too. Its not pleasant going through it all but so worth it when your teeth are straight .

Hi Lydia 😊 I had a terrible experience with braces in the past and cost me very health issues on jaws... I had braces to prevent my teeth moving on the front like my father. I did exatly the treatment has the doctor said and post braces removed. One year later I had massive pain on my jaw and 2 years later even with the treatment my teeth move like my father. Of course I am not saying this you shouldnt do it for some people it worked very well for me it didn't 😊 I'm telling you to think about pros and cons 😊 Take care of yourself 😇

I'm thinking about getting teeth straightened again as well. Had braces in Jr High and High School but hated my retainer. Still have slight unevenness on one side.
We always used to a cardi over one’s shoulders just in case there’s an emergency cotillion. Don’t ask my why!

I think you should document your braces journey. Even if it’s providing updates here and there. Don’t worry too much about your speech. Most of us have been there are or are there too.
You should try Kniepp dream away bath salts. similar to the tincture you took for a goodnights rest, but absolutely dreamy. the whole Kniepp range is lovely. the muscle soak is also wonderful for tight sore muscles and joints.
Dear Lydia, don't bother worrying about having braces. My teeth were very overcrowded by the time I was 12 in 1978. I was so happy to have braces because I knew that I would have a great smile. I loved my braces. When they were adjusted, my teeth were a bit uncomfortable but only for 2 days. My mother just gave me Aspirin. My braces didn't affect my speech...you will be fine. By the way in 1978 here in Texas, my braces cost 3000.00$. What a difference, yes?
