You're a riot. All this strategic tractor maneuvering early in the AM to keep everything dry..... then off into the first snowbank you see with the D2. 🙂
I was amazed how much the larger tracks made your D2 look like a snowcat appearance, and then you took it into the deeper snow--wow. You add the cab, and IT WILL look like a snowcat!!! Awesome looking machine, Toby!!!
I really want that Swamp Angel! Very sweet, and those 20" pads are looking very different out in the wild compared to in the shop. I'm very happy for you Squatch. Congratulations on a job WELL done.
Brilliant, I bet the guy that owned it before you never imagined it looking like it does now. Great to see it out running after so much time and effort. Well done 😎
So cool to see it outside with those wide tracks. It’s been a blast watching it get built. X231 has got me drawn in as well. Thanks for keeping the history of these old machines alive.
Fantastic video! Man it was nice to see the Swamp Angle moving on the tracks. A guy can really appreciate the time, effort and hard work that went into this machine. Such a cool piece of our history saved from the smelter! Cheers
Outstanding !! Great to see the D2 out in the day light stretching its legs a little. I follow your channel for any and all it's content but the D2 series was my favorite so far. Great work !
Great to see that cat outside with those wide pads in the soft snow . Looks like it’s running as smooth as can be . Loved the glamour shot of the tow hook and stump pan ! The Machine looks great and nice to see the weather turning around . Happy Easter Squatch and family have a good weekend.
Glad you resisted the temptation to climb that snow pile. The story goes when the new D2 was delivered to the Estate in Devon ( England ) where I grew up the driver decided to show his new mount would go anywhere and preceded to drive it over a manure pile - where it promptly sank to it's belly and had to be towed off by several tractors!
Thanks Toby! Man you looked happy to be on the Swamp Angel! It’s getting to be that time of year. I’m ready for tractor shows. Getting new rear rubber on the 756 Tuesday and the rims centered on the 460 utility. Ready to drive them. Thanks again and can’t wait to see what comes next
The whole project has turned out wonderful. I know that bumper was expensive to do right/twice but man it sure sets the whole machine off. Hopefully mud season is not too terribly long this year.
Brother, I absolutely love this machine. The stance, the wide footprint, beautiful! It looks like an absolute joy to operate. It didn't seem as jerky or bouncy for lack of better words as most old iron. Really enjoyed seeing it make some moves.
i saw all that snow piled up when you first took off driving and thought to myself if that was me id be climbing those puppies with those wide tracks. and you definently did not disappoint!
All of your hard work has proven out! What a job Toby! My wife and I have really enjoyed watching you on the rebuild and seeing all your hard work come to fruition is very exciting. We will continue to watch you with Christine and any other projects you come up with!
Love the work you’ve been doing on the D2 it’s inspiring & motivating, I’ve got a 1936 RD7 , been working with Dennis at Florin tractor , help helped me find the last few parts available for the pony motor , I’m hoping to have the RD7 back up and running soon . Thanks again keep up the good work
Almost felt like I was driving it thr whole time. That's how well you got me invested in the outcome of your videos. That was pure pleasure to watch Toby. Thank You my friend.
That old crawler with those wide tracks looked mean and awesome. Looked like she had some wide shoulders. Another awesome video. Denis from Santa Rosa CA. Love ❤️ that straight stack sound.
Eureka, the world’s heaviest (and slowest) snowmobile! She breaks trail slowly but packs it real goooood so Senior can go flying on his rocket sled. That alone was worth all the time and resources, right? She’s a runner but we’ll prove her true worth when plow day rolls around. Ya done good, again. 🥸👍👀✅❗️
Seeing that sweet crawler in motion with those swamp cleats beautiful thanks for sharing the move til spring passes. Looking forward to more later and more X231
Gotta love the sound of Swamp Angel's engine grumbling when Squatch hits the diesel fuel. She's running like she just came off the production line. Now I know why I got so fascinated by this restoration.
What fun! There would have been a lot more tracks in the snow if I was the one driving, ha! Days like this are what make the efforts of the restoration all worth it, the play at then end is the reward, good job!
Brilliant achievement; so what about the new workshop/storage development? What is the news about that? Re the Moline, keep on with it 'it is the 'star' of videos, truly.
This video is part of why I enjoy, and look forward to your videos. You put your work on your projects to the test, and have fun doing it. Thanks, and keep it up.
First time I've seen something like this in the snow and it wasn't at all what I expected. I was thinking the weight and tracks would have made it unstoppable, (within reason) so I was surprised to see it spin out/dig trying to get on top of that snow pile - You have quick reflexes :))
Yes, its the same over here in the UK. If there is no urgency then the project will most likely benefit from you waiting until the time is right. Keep safe
😱 OMG 😱 OMG 😱OMG 🤗🤗🤗 the "Swamp Angel" D2 to do the Caterpillar two step in twice as much deep snow on the double wide tracks. WooHoo ‼‼👍👍👍 Second time through.
She definitely has no problem with putting her foot down!! She reminds me of my sweet little wife. She makes the ground shake when she walks by!!!! Lol!!!
I'd like to see you hit those snow banks at 60 mph and ski right across the top! You did install the highway gears, right? LOL. Fun video! It's great to see all my hard viewing work put to use. 🙂 Just kidding. That was very satisfying though. It's good to see the enjoyment YOU get from all YOUR hard work!
I think snow is so good for tracks. After you got in the deep snow they really quieted down. I had to plow out 18" of snow two times this winter with my D4. I had a stuck link when I started out. By the time I finished it had free'd up. Of course my top idlers locked up. Working in snow we would have to replace them with wood runners like King of Obsolete does.
Hey Toby, 5J1113 looks awesome out in the wild with those pads, along with the other Cat options (tow hook, bumper, belly pan, etc.) if you don’t mind me asking what are you using for the floor in that connex box? Usually we just see them with hardwood strip flooring.
Wonderful to see the journey from some backyard piece of junk to a fully functional and useful machine. Looking forward to saying the same for X-231 next. Good work Squatch and thanks for all you teach us. PS, in your closing remarks you were practically a silhouette against the back lighting. I'd like to suggest a reflector or a fill light to even out your exposure balance. You'll find it helpful in more situations than you think.
Good drive :D We all like the same Childs, there was a pile of snow and we can't resist to drive the tracks trouthg it :D Did the same in January. The garage after that looks like a mes, bevor it dried and i storage my NSU.
It sounds Great the Engine and those Tracks/ undercarriage...The undercarriage is so much Quieter. Nice job..Great Job on the whole project and Video ..
@@squatch253 I heard that. There was already a big difference .. You did a Great job on the Whole Rebuild..Can't wait till it gets nice out there so you can run her even more..No doubt Not as much as You can. You Guys got alot of Snow this year. LOL .Thanks For the Reply. Have a Great Day.
Wow that was fun to watch! Looks awesome with the bumper and the wide tracks! Today the D2 was a Snow Angel!! Thanks for bringing us along!!👍🏼

Great to see the D2 "Swamp Angel" driving after the long, but excellent repair & restoration process! I'm glad it drove & ran to your expectations!
I really want that Swamp Angel!

I'm very happy for you Squatch. Congratulations on a job WELL done.

That machine looks incredible with those wide tracks, especially from the front. It's gotta feel great to play in the snow with it too!
Happiness is when the pilot motor starts first pop. 👍
No poker face, you were having a blast! That tractor is right, you can hear how good the tractor and starting runs in the video.
So cool to see it outside with those wide tracks. It’s been a blast watching it get built. X231 has got me drawn in as well. Thanks for keeping the history of these old machines alive.
That is so freaking cool! 😊
Two very very cool tractors one in front of the other. So freaking cool Squatch!
Fantastic video! Man it was nice to see the Swamp Angle moving on the tracks. A guy can really appreciate the time, effort and hard work that went into this machine. Such a cool piece of our history saved from the smelter! Cheers

Great to see another successful Ford ASSET graduate! Good job….Drew

Squatch extremely happy to see the smile on your face bud. You truly looked like a kid in a candy store.
Cool! You can really see why the top carrier rollers are needed!
Thanks for sharing Squatch!!
Loved seeing the restoration of this thing. It looks awesome, usually I prefer new paint but the original finish on the Swamp Angel looks amazing.
Glad you resisted the temptation to climb that snow pile. The whole project has turned out wonderful. I know that bumper was expensive to do right/twice but man it sure sets the whole machine off. Hopefully mud season is not too terribly long this year.
Those wide tracks look awesome on her....
Those pads look like the old wavy Caterpillar logo with the carrier rollers in. Totally worth the effort! Congratulations!
I don’t know that I’ll ever get tired of seeing an old D2 start up!
thanks for sharing keep up the good work.

Better than NEW because of YOU! All of the skills you have and used in Swamp Angle reconstruction!

Bravo. Four-wheeling with D2. Priceless.

She looks awesome, Squatch. Ground pressure is nice and light. She's practically floating. She sounds amazing.

Well done, the fruits of all your hard and meticulous work! Good to see you enjoying it!
Congratulations on a job well done, beautiful machine.
That thing looks great. Can't wait to see it on plow day. Great accomplishment.
Looks like more fun than making snow angels! That front view looks awesome.
That felt like the culmination of a long, long project. Congrats on a like new old timer. We are all jealous but glad to have watched.
To think what that was when you started, is absolutely incredible.
It’s a Snow Angel now. Wonderful.
Just awesome 😎
When you left the shop the tracks looked almost as wide as the radiator with the angle of the camera.
What a great looking machine! Badass stance. Sick! Congrats 💪🏻
If I didn’t know better, I would say that is an all original well maintained machine. Looks awesome!
😱 OMG 😱 OMG 😱OMG 🤗🤗🤗 the "Swamp Angel" D2 to do the Caterpillar two step in twice as much deep snow on the double wide tracks. WooHoo ‼‼👍👍👍

Omg it’s like watching your kid take their first steps ❤

The proportions on the body/tracks/bumper/grill/etc are just perfect! A Beaut for sure eh!

Worth the wait! Great to see it running.
You know it actually looked smoother in turns than a standard track model
Know the pads are wide but the visual perception they give you is of a Dozer on Bog tracks 💪 great video 👍
Wow!! Lol 😂 like the guy that bought it bran new!! Got to play with it. Super nice job!!!

@@squatch253 It's Tego. Multiple applications, including concrete pouring. The film on top is cooked on the plywood and is waterproof.
A very Blessed Easter to you and your family Toby.
Looks like an absolute tank! I love it!
Yeehaw.....love it...giver the onions man!
Love the look of the wide pads great job
Just a boy playing with his toys! Sweet!
Toby, awesome I loved watching you and the swamp angel playing. I can’t wait to get my D2 running.

Good Job, it’s been fun to watch.
Now I can’t wait to see it with the cab on it.
Sounds great, looks great and seems to me that she rides real good. What a fun trip 😊
