Mr Kittipong Kittikachorn confirmed during the press conference that a 73-year-old British passenger was killed on flight SQ321. The plane had to make an emergency landing in the Thai capital due to severe air turbulence. He likely died of a heart attack, the airport chief said.
Dozens were hurt, with seven of them critically injured, he added. Nine crew members were also taken to hospital.
Singapore Airlines has sent 50 staff members to support the passengers in Bangkok.

Never underestimate turbulence . Thank you Thai Emergency Support.
thank you to the Thai medical team & airport staff
Yes, the Thai medical staff are world class , I live here.
They certainly had hard work to do today, but so many thanks to them! ❤
My condolence for the dead family and those who were injured badly. Flight attendants were more likely to get injured as they moving in the plane. Those who didn't fasten seat belt were likely to get injured when the plane dropped 6000ft due to CAT (clear air turbulence) . Wish those injured speedy recovery.
I’m a Thai people , before SQ321 case, I haven’t know that Suvarnabhumi airport has the potential to deal with emergency landing. 😅
Thank you to the Thai emergency crew and airport staff.
Thai medical team and airport staff, thanks for having our backs!

If I needed emergency medical help then Bangkok is the place you want to be.......Very professional staff.
Thank you to the Thai government, airport personnel and medical team for your assistance. Also thank you to the SQ pilots who managed to bring the aircraft down safely.
Thank you to the SQ pilots who managed to land the plane safely in Bangkok.
Let’s wait for the investigation first !!!!
thank you Thailand
Okay, but those injured passengers still have to pay for their medical bill before they are allow to leave Thailand, there is no free lunch in the world.
@@Paul-H-Wolfram6608 Pretty sure it's covered by the airline.

Seat belt on at all time during flight is important as we do not know when we will hit a bad turbulence. Condolences to the deceased passenger. Wishing those who got injured a speedy recovery.
Report said some of the passengers were having their lunch and it's common practice that passengers do not fasten their seat belt while eating.
@@norran3830 Well now they will, I always keep my seatbelt on for everything on the plan (unless to the bathroom). Never know when turbulence will hit.
@@norran3830 this practice is a cause of concern. Eating is not a good enough reason to remove ur seatbelts. Its the same thing when u are in a car. U dont remove ur belt when the driver is driving even if u are eating as u never know when the driver will hit the brakes suddenly to avoid something.
@@juzyx Well you can't blame the passengers. .Unlike when you are in a car you have to wear your seat belt all the time but on the plane there will be time when it's okay to unfasten your seat belt while the plane flying. What happened was the turbulence happened suddenly giving the captain no time to ask or to switch on the .... Fasten your seat belt warning light. It's like the plane suddenly being hit by a missile out of nowhere.

this shows that turbulence can cause some trouble
In Thailand , May all the holy beings in Thailand help the injured to safety and return to their hometowns to see their beloved families.
It would be interesting to know how many of those injured weren’t wearing their seat belts.
This is why you should always wear your seatbelt, even if a bit loosely. Well done to the emergency personnel!!
So sad to hear of this. Condolences to the loved ones of the deceased. Hope those who were injured recover speedily. Great work pilots!
Deepest condolences 🙏
RIP to those who passed
I feel so sorry for the deceased and those injured. It’s such a freak and sudden accident.
Thank you for sharing.
Unless you were on the way to or from the loo -put your sodding seatbelt on.
I’m sure the pilot would have warned to put seatbelts on if turbulence was expected. Maybe some didn’t listen. Most passengers seemed ok.
That’s what i thought. I was on a flight to LAX, the pilot told passengers to put the seatbelt due to a turbulence. But some passengers were standing up and stretching. Like wth. But still, RIP
Or seat belt was on but loose?
Maybe those seatbelts on the Boeing plane were all faulty, afterall it's a Boeing.
I still not able to overcome my flight anxiety since I had a similar experience.
For those who point their fingers at Boeing, I hope you understand similar incidents did happen to planes produced by different companies, including Airbus. Boeing did something terribly wrong and should be held responsible for the death of hundreds of people in the two 737 Max crashes. However, this does not mean whenever there is an accident, it must be because of Boeing's faulty designs or negligence. 777 has very good safety records.
My deepest condolences to the families affected and seventy affected victims.
It’s about time all passenger flight seatbelts have sensor so that crew member can easily trace who has not fasten… much more efficient.
I guess this will throw a brick in their worlds best airline ranking
It has nothing to do with the airline nor aircraft. There are different types of turbulence. Some can view/predict in advance by pilot/aircraft to inform pax to put on safety belt such as Cloud turbulence, but not if it is a Clear air turbulence, which is what SIA countered yesterday. CAT cannot tell nor predict in advance. So, no matter how advance the technology is today, NOBODY CAN BEAT THE NATURE.
Thabk you for flying Singapore Airlines. Enjoy your stay in Bangkok
Seatbelts on, this is 2024 not 1920. Y’all know better.
Oh damn. Poor people.
If they're are poor people, they won't take SIA, they will go for those cheaper ticket airlines, for example, Air India or Philippines Airline.

There is a very good reason you are advised to keep your seat belt on at all times.
Yep, even you go to the 🚻 washroom, bring the seatbelt along and wear it.😁
Recently abt 3 months ago i took flight from indonesia going to Sg, the plane went into cloud n it really shake so hard that i thought it going to explode, thanks to the pilot for handling it very well, we managed to get out safely..😞 condolences to the deceased family.
Modern commercial aircrafts are built to withstand many times the forces of such nature. They don’t explode ,or break up for no reason, you must have watched too much movies or have your preconceived ideas of the robustness of aircrafts.
The pilot has done a fantastic job. Kudos.
How many were not wearing seatbelts?
Everyone be safe.
Always have your seatbelt buckled unless you’re going to the toilet. I learned this from a flight attendant who had seen some bad injuries from sudden turbulence.
Thailand welcomes tourists and those in need of assistance from various disasters.
This may seem off topic, but I was wondering if anyone here can confirm that the weather data in Iran for May 19 has been deleted? This is after the president died in a helicopter crash in “fog”.
This video shows one data source skipping over May 19.
I would imagine they will scrub it and put it back up at some point. Paint some fog in there.
If they are altering or deleting weather data it’s not good for what we are doing here.
Condolences death. family members

I wish to say in light of this. Please don't follow those idiot videos showing people sleeping across 3 empty seats when the flight is underbook. Sit in your seat and fasten your seat belt.
I have bin in a turbulence in 1993 nearby Abu Dhabi.

So many passengers are hurt. Flat bed seat passengers or economy passengers?
Were they having meals at the time?
Nah, they were not having meals at that time, probably they were sleeping 😴 that was why they didn't notice about the warning from the captain.

Well everyone know’s SQ flights ain’t “Cheap”, people pay for the prestige of flying with one of the world’s best airline and for their premium services although the food menu seems to be a lot lacking in quality recently. But my question to you is what is cheapest of airfare got to do with safety of the flight and the turbulence. Are you inferring that budget airlines ignore safety guidelines knowing that there’s potential danger ahead? My answer to you is a NO! No pilot in world will do that and price of the airfare has no relation at all. You might want to do your blabbering somewhere else.
BOEING plane AGAIN and this time they are talking about the RADAR SYSTEM onboard Boeing triple 777-300-ER model plane that dont give normal and expected Reading about the weather ( Storms, etc,, ) on real time when on automatic mode....!!!! I want to add that this problem is well know among Pilots who are flying that model plane and it is also known by the Airlines company and PROBABLY by BOEING itself --- BUT NOTHING IS DONE TO CORRECT THAT RADAR SYSTEM ONBOARD ALL BOEING 777-300-ER MODEL PLANES….WHY..??? And what about all other Boeing model planes, do they all have that same problem regarding their Radar system or not...??
Absolute nonsense you´re talking about
No commercial airplanes are equipped to identify clear air turbulence.
This happened during daylight hours so this turbulence can only have been clear air turbulence.
Maybe try to grow a brain and stop the childish conspiracy theories. This has nothing to do with Boeing.
Passengers have gotten hurt in airplanes from all airplane manufacturers due to clear air turbulence.
Radar can not detect clear air turbulence, which is believed to be the cause of this incident. It can detect water droplets in clouds, and show how they are moving, but there's nothing for the radar signal to bounce off in clear air.
Extreme Air turbulence .
