- There are some musical voices that are undeniably distinct and have the ability to create a romantic atmosphere for lovers. One of those voices belongs to singer and songwriter Barry White. White’s bass-baritone voice and romantic image have produced some of music’s best-loved tunes like “You’re the First, My Last, My Everything,” and “Can’t Get Enough of Your Love Babe.” White had 41 platinum albums and 10 platinum singles by the end of his career. But White’s life and career have also seen its downs, and his life was hampered by various health ailments that eventually led to his death.

Barry’s arranger, who almost never gets mentioned, was Gene Page! He wrote the string, horn and flute parts. Gene and Barry were very good friends and both passed at exactly 58 yrs old. How about a “thumbs up” for Gene Page??
65 GTO love Barry and gene. The gene page albums are very good and underestimated. I miss them both but still to this day play my vinyls with pride.
👍🏾
👍Wow, I guess Gene Page must've written that flute part in "I'm Never Gonna Give You Up" that goes up and down, then up and down. So cool.
👋👋👍👍👍👋
👍👍👍
He wrote and arranged many great songs. A very unique artist. A sad loss.
RIP BARRY GONNA MISS YOU.
T🧠🧠🧠👣🧠
RIP.. brother BARRY WHITE🙏🏿 I loved his 🎶🎶🎶🎶❤️❤️❤️
Everyone remembers him for his voice, but he was a first and foremost a brilliant composer.
Hello
This is true
He was first a successful big hit producer
I went to his home in Encino in the late 1970’s: what a castle. All his servants were white and wore Nehru jackets. The diamond on his wife’s finger as shown in the video was Huge. His kids were all well mannered and he ran tight ship. The guest house on his property was nicer than 99% of the houses in the Valley. His next door neighbor was Gordon Lightfoot. Nice guy and he was a giant man.
Always wondered about that. He must have made huge bank in his day.
What a picture! Wonder what he was like to hang with? Maybe he never had time.
@@thyslop1737He went BROKE‼️‼️ NO JOKE ‼️‼️ Had to borrow from Friends, check into it.
He got back right
Glad Barry decided to be a lover, not a fighter. ❤️❤️❤️
Barry White is an icon. When I hear story's like Barry's it reminds me how cruel people can be. Entertainers give till they have nothing left and it seems that is never enough. Thank you Mr White for your awesome gift of music to us all. Your music has been a staple in my life you were and are awesome. God bless the White family.
The best singer I know
Amen 1 of the best ❤
Thank you Mr White from a ‘74’ baby 👶🏾. Awww you keep telling me this and telling me that, say once I’m with you never go back practice what you preach ..... ❤️
My first my last my everything
I never heard of that song until I saw the movie Money Talks.

I Love this comment!!! So true for every person!!!
Love life with Barry White
❤️❤️ NEVER NEVER GONNA GIVE YOU UP ‼️ 👫❤️🍷🔥🔥 🎶
What a voice he was a gentle giant loved him to bits
The Maestro! What a great voice and sound.
He seems like he was a good hearted man. I love his voice.
ME. 2❤
I once work at an Atlanta Radio station. Had a chance to meet Mr. White some time around around in 1980. Very kind man. I will never forget the stuff we talked about. Rest in power Berry White.
What you talked about?
I'll just say that it was advice given to me from himself. Two Black Men talking.
@@mrdraye3rWhat a lucky man you are to have met him. As a musician and singer myself, he remains one of my greatest inspiration. Bless you 🙏🏻
One of the greatest songwriters who ever lived. Listening to him is an experience.
Yessssssssssssssss
Mr White was a great producer, arranger, songwriter, musician, composer and entertainer. That is a title not many can claim, they are either one or the other but not all. Here is a man with a twelfth grade education doing things people went to school to learn. Barry Whites music is extremely underrated. Just listen to his music without any lyrics. The orchestration is next level. Couldn't read a lick of music and played seven instruments. Some of his music should be in the Smithsonian Institute. I saw him perform forty five years ago at Madison Square Garden and that concert is still ringing in my ears. To this day I listen to his music in bed and fall asleep. The only was to describe him is GENIUS!!! RIP Maestro.
ONE OF THE GREATEST VOICES EVER . REST IN PEACE BARRY , NO ONE CAN SING LIKE YOU .
Thank you for doing this. Barry White, is my all time favorite musician; I followed his career from 1970; his talent went largely unrecognized by most.
It always seemed to me that there was an underlying thread of sadness in this beautiful man. I could never put my finger on it, until after his death, and his life story was revealed. I believe he was a gentle soul that sought an unconditional love he never quite found.
He was gone too soon.
He found it, his talent didn’t go unrecognized! Who are TrOlls who think you can rewrite history! No feels or thinks like your comment! Don’t speak on his talent when you know nothing about it! Stay in your lane of hate!
Barry did his best to help me do the things I wanted to do in the music business. I'll never forget him. His music was and still is a part of my life....Barry, Thanks for the memories...
Beautiful Barry with that base-baritone voice is all that matters despite the emphasis here on a ''criminal record''. Rest in eternal peace. Love always. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.
I still consider the 1974 instrumental track Love's Theme to be his finest piece of work
I love Barry White. His voice is so unique. My personal favorite is Never Never gonna Give You Up. But then again, I love them all. RIP Barry.
Barry White you are my favorite singer.. I miss you...Still listen to your music..Rest in Peace....
Hello
That man's voice was a gift from God. All these artists that have gifts....like many of us...its all about how we use it.
A gifted artist with genuine swagger!
Hello
Sho You Rite
Like myself 😁
He has an awesome voice. May he RIP
RIP BARRY WHITE Thank You for all the excellent entertainment you gave us through the years of your life. You have always been a loving wonderful gentleman. You are the best through your music my marriage survived and I want to say thank you for every message of love life laughter you sing. Thank You Barry White RIP!
That’s soooo sweet
Im sure plenty of kids were conceived in the 70s from his music. Such a talented singer and composer.
I don't know how many was in the 70s I know I was in 81
@@kentfreeman8674 I definitely was, in '71.
RIP Barry White. He was excellent singer and his dance moves was unbelievable.
LOL. His backslide was something else, wasn't it? As for his windmill...
He was so underrated
Wow. I only some of his music and knew nothing about him. He sure had one incredible voice. 👍👍
The Man totally encompassed the art of true love soul music. His ability to awaken the still heart was breathtaking.. His arrangements absolutely beautiful. And the voice of a King. RIP Mr. Barry White.
Was sorry to hear some of his fans booed him, I guess they didn't understand how sick he was. Too bad they treated him better after he was gone than when he was alive.
That's disgusting.
SOME NON COMPASSION, HATEFILLED PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD....SMFH...R.I.P. ....BARRY, sweetheart..xoxo
Some people are just ignorant they didn't realize what a brilliant musician he was. There is a very old song named " you don't miss your water until the well runs dry " this is so true on many different levels. ❤❤RIP❤❤ you will forever be missed ...
@@kellygoines7448 Thanks, will check out the song.
Hello
I Ioved his voice and it still hurts to know he passed. I was in Puerto Rico when I first heard him singing "Can't get enough babe" and The first, the last my everything. I had a Cuban lover who was the love of my life. That was over 40 yrs ago. Great romantic voice. May he be with Jesus in heaven.❤
What a voice! Never knew much about his life at all! Thanks
Another legend who has yet to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. But there's still time.
Barry and Glodean never divorced btw.
A Travesty indeed ❕
ah the "legend" comment
@@besteverepicmillennial5927 It’s true though lol
The booed wasn't important the legacy is
@beverly ledbetter She was VERY attractive. That being said, those nails are weird.
Practice what you preach was the bomb! He had so many amazing songs though.. Miss him
Hello
God bless Mr. Barry White. He was one of the best and always will be.
Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
I loved Barry. I was and still am sad when he died. Can't believe he's been gone for 17 years
RIP!! Beautiful heaven sent voice!
He was a very handsome man! He was a great singer! We will always remember him! I hope he is in Paradise now!
Barry we love you!
For the night of seduction:
_"All you need is scented candles, massage oil, and Barry White. Write that down."_
Excellent Singer! Excellent Music! Incredible Voice!. True Gentleman too and same goes for his son Darryl since I knew him from attending the same High School in Tarzana , Ca. A very sad loss. God Bless his Soul!
He was so talented
Hello
I actually had very little idea about Barry, this was wonderful to watch. Still love his music!
Barry White used to live here in Las Vegas before he died! Not far from Whoopie Goldberg, Sugar Ray Leonard and Sylvester Stallone ! He was a great man and was willing to share his wisdom thoughts and feelings with us Younglings!
Shared his deep and sensual voice, God-given talent, shared with the world. Wonderful memories back in the day. God bless him.
This guy actually taught me about love
Great story. This is why I love this channel. Damn he was only 58 when he died. Thankfully his music will last forever.
I love Barry White he is so underrated
How is he underrated? He’s won many awards, Grammys and earned the admiration from many musicians. He had millions of fans and hit songs, so how was he underrated?
Huh?? How??
The first song I heard from him was "I'm Gonna Love You Just a Little More Baby", I bought the 45 in the spring of 1973. I was hooked on his music. I had Love Unlimited Orchestra and his Can't Get Enough album. The song I loved the most on that album was "I Can't Believe You Love Me".
The sexiest voice ever i loved his voice no one will ever compete with Barry White he was the best ever ❤ ♥
I remembering listening to The Mastero his voice was so sexy and deep(Baritone) 2 of my favorites Never Gonna Get Enough of Your Love,You're My first My Last My Everything ,Rest in Peace Barry White🏵🌸🥀🌹......
I had an uncle that played "practice what you preach" all the time when I was a kid l loved hearing it
Imagine if Barry White&Marvin Gaye made an album or a few songs together ❤
I must admit, I can't think of anybody with a sexier voice. He could have probably read the phone book as I say, and I would have been enamored
You said that in such a classy manner. Nice.
My mother always loved his voice too. A deep voice can be very attractive. I always liked the voice of the guy on Soul Train. I’m sorry too be so tired not to recall his name and it was popular when I was a child. But I love music of most types and many decades. Marvin Gaye is another sexy voice in a different way. Then there is Chip Somodevilla who testified against trump in impeachment.
I saw him on some talk show back in the day (Merv Griffin maybe ?) where the interviewer made reference to what he was known for - his sexy voice & songs affecting the passions of couples... Barry got angry and said 'That stuff got nothing to do with me, I don't want that on me'... which was shocking to me, and puzzling, because it seems that's exactly what the goal of his music was.
@@kellykerr5225 Don Cornelius of Soul Train
@@katiezee2 Thank you. My brain just wasn’t working. He always seemed so cool and I always liked his voice. I like to read but my eyes have been bothering me. So audible had the first book free and immediately suggested Barack Obama’s book. I only got it because it’s in his voice. He has kind of a soothing voice too. The last time he did put me to sleep lol. I’m only one chapter one and it’s 30 hours long. I only spent 20 hours watching a documentary about the Roosevelt’s but it was about all of them lol.
Such a talented singer. Is sad how people are so selfish. He couldn’t perform due to his health issue and people didn’t care. As each day goes by, I care less about people because you are only good when they can use you.
100% truth. 👍
I totally concur
Iconic voice
Love n miss you Mr. Berry White.
May you
Rest In Peace
❤🎶👍
That was a walk down memory lane & I visualized the times . Your facts were on point & well put together .
Barry white took my family in as his own, nicest person on the face of the earth !!!! RIP !!!!!
I will always love Barry White and his music we are all blessed and enriched because of the great music that he made we all felt what he was saying because love is a part of us all thanks Barry White RIP
Barry was one of my first platonic love like how such a big man with so powerful voice could be so romantic and sweet...!? R.I.P ⚘
He was just amazing
Hello
Barry White was truly music not just Pop, R&B just music altogether.
I love rapping R&B and Hip-Hop and I will until I die
soulful.. loved by many.. both men and women.. really miss his voice and it is 2020 .. and yes i can still hear him crooning.. gone too soon..
I would have loved to see him and The wonderful Marvin Gaye do something together......
This guy don't nearly get enough credit for his music especially his Iconic love Unlimited Orchestra in the 1970 thru 80 a R & B Orchestra that wasn't heard of besides Isaac Hayes!!!🤠🤔🎶
Sooooooooooot true
His life seems great he was a great man who loved music and music loved him it was not a tragic life
Man I was dancing to Sho you right this weekend with my granddaughters age 3 and 1. Both were moving their heads clapping and snapping fingers lol. The legacy lives on! Great music is forever. Miss that guy Barry! ✨🙏🏽✨❤️✨ Thank you Mom for putting me on!
Bravo to he and Glodean for raising ALL his children.
I was with him in 1977 opening one of his amazing concerts... with thousands of multicultural Malaysians screaming and cheering the SECOND they saw just his HAND touch the curtain to come forward to his usual Baby Grand.. wearing this familiar TAILS.
I was VERY young and in AWE. He just winked at me as I walked off. I was so mesmerized by him and his music, even more after that! Bless his memory and family.
Still love him today. His music is timeless
I bet Marvin and Barry would've made an awesome love song
Other than the death of his brother and what influenced him along with his own death, the rest doesn't seem tragic, it feels more uplifting and proving you can find a different path and find better in life. My all time favorite is Practice What You Preach.
Sho You Rite! He strived for the betterment in life and made it happen for his family and himself.
Two of my very favourites, Barry White and Marvin Gaye.
I MUST SAY, “Texas has produced legendary musicians with the “DEEP&NATURAL VOICE”. Barry White, ZRO, Trae The Truth, and many more!!!! Things are just bigger and better in TEXAS!!!
Barry White = Legend
Can you Imagine if Marvin Gaye and Barry White made an Album together how out of this universe that would be
Two kings of baby makin music... The whole world would've had a population upsurge problem!
My favorites
Greatest artist of All Times,I'll miss you forever,as the world will to.❤
To me the people who booed Barry are beneath him because he went up there and gave it his all even though his health was not all good but he gave it his all for his fans who loved him I thought. I feel sorry for all the a holes that booed him for this great man for his great music that he gave us the love of his music and legacy that he left behind.
He was so unique
Hear we go again Media at it’s best, in the middle of a story 🥺. God Bless You Barry White🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Truly indeed. A Maestro. 🎼🎹🎹🎸🎸🎻🎻🎻🎻🎺🎺🎷🎷🥁🥁🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤
God bless his soul. Amen
I love his music and songs when I was growing up....I fell in love ❤️😘 with his unusual beautiful deep voice singing about LOVE ❤️❤️😍❤️. WOW 😳😳😳. Fantastic Songs ☺️.Thankyou Barry White for the Beautiful 💖😍❤️❤️ Music and your magnificent Songs. Your Voice is from GOD. R.I.P. and LOVE 😘💕💕😘
Barry's voice was sent from heaven.
R.I.P Barry
How did those who booed at him while on stage feel after finding out that he had health issues? And that he died because of that.
I love Barry White he does not get the credit he deserves writer producer singer arranger. Responsible for more kids being born than any other singer. His arrangements are flawless. He made orchestral music cross over . But he is not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and sold over 100 million records. And last look at all the great artists that played with him before they became famous. Ray Parker Jr. , Kenny G, and Nathan East just to name a few. We need to get BW in the Rock Hall!!!!!!
Great song writing and singing
*There will NEVER be another Barry White!! I was blessed to have been around when he released his EPIC talent on vinyl!! He is still one of my all time FAVORITES to this day!!*
I've been too 3 of his concerts even his last at the Beacon Theater I loved him he called me Petra, he's was amazed I knew his first song Love Unlimited 🙏🏽👑❤️☝🏾💯Rest in Paradise May The Lord have Mercy upon you and Thank You for your Amazing Voice ❤️❤️❤️❤️🎶🎶🎶🎵and Music best concert I will never forget was at Jones Beach with his hugh Orgrestra
What a talent, love his music 🎶
He was so incredible
I remember watching Barry White during an interview and he stated that his mother had a master's degree in music. Supposedly this began his love of music. He didn't mention anything about gang-banging.
You missed out such an important part with his kids not being able to visit him in hospital when he died because of Katherine Denton and the legal battle!
TRUE. That's important. Shameful that his kids couldn't see their father. That should never have happened.
I'm a "Barry Baby" and I am Blessed to have the BEST PARENTS n the World, I'm ALWAYS listenin to Barry's Music, I was conceived to Barry's Music, AMAZING🎶🎶🎶💯💯🎉🎉
All ladies love his music. White and black. So did I!
I bought every single album he made. I loved him.
Thier will never be another berry rest easy big bro..bless 🙌🙏
