@MarioMastar I find both The Doom and Lost Impact to be fairly easier to navigate so long as you don't unlock any of the doors. Once the doors are open, it turns into a nightmarish maze where all the hallways look the same.
This mission is driving me nuts! This is the only mission I need to do to unlock Expert Mode, but my game isn't in good condition AT ALL and my game keeps spawning unnecessary bottomless pits, and one death = no A rank.
If this level is set 50 years ago, does that imply the ARK was built during the Cold War?
Eggmun different universe = different sequence of events. Its not 2019 in the sonic universe

If you ask me, this dark mission is more meaningful than that of Central City. In Central City, Black Doom tells Shadow about the Ark, leaving him to speculate how it went down. Here in The Doom, Black Doom Shows Shadow about The Ark.

Maria should have been the guide for this boss battle because Black Doom (they really should have thought of a better name for him) was already the guide for Blue Falcon.
honestly feels like this should have been a pure dark mission because what makes more sense to you Shadow blindly following Black Doom's orders or Black Doom showing Shadow Maria's death while also leaving out crucial details about it to tempt him to the dark side

@@psychie8625 I guess the sound cue in Mad Matrix kinda helps me get over the insane long dark mission though. If you do the Hero mission there it has those nice audio cues

Thanks to this vid, it makes the level easier ;) The level layout is a mess like Lost Impact One, these are the worst in this game.

Because it has redeeming qualities. Personally, I like the concept and gameplay. But the story was undercooked and the fact you have to do at least 10 play throughs to get the true ending really doesn’t help at all.
They definitely should remaster this and change A LOT of missions and take out the edginess of ridiculousness.

Doing the Dark Mission feels very wrong imo since the hero mission character is Maria.

Easily the worst mission in the game. Fittingly enough, it's also in the worst stage in the game, The Doom. This is basically the Hero mission from Lost Impact, but the fact that this mission is glitched makes it worse.
Almost every time you play The Doom, in the final room of GUN troops, one of them will always be missing. It fails to load consistently, and the only way to fix this glitch is to use the checkpoint teleporters, which somehow convinces the game to relent and finally spawn the missing troop. Some of the GUN troops can even fall through the floor out of nowhere. How is anyone supposed to know the remedy for these issues on their first playthrough? This stage is pure agony for these reasons alone.
