well, keep in mind that it wasn't just an ordinary race. there were lots of hoops and hurdles to go through like gravity switching, and enemies all over the place. and despite having amnesia, it'd still make sense for shadow to be more familiar with the ark than sonic would. not to mention shadow's speed has been said to rival sonic's, so it's not completely unbelievable that shadow would win in a race against sonic on the ark
I recalled picking up Shadow along with True crime new york on Gamecube. They were great games back in the day. Oh yes, Sonic X. That was a good series based of Sonic adventure.
Shadow and Sonic raced each other in Sonic Adventure 2 prior to this game. That's what Sonic was referring to when he said he and Shadow raced there.

I haven't play Shadow the Hedgehog since 2005 when it was released when was 18.
I was 14 when it released. Begged my parents for it. I blame Sonic X.
