    Haha they really cater to the younger generation...Nobody taught me anything about the routes I drove years ago, they just handed me the diad and said be careful.... I drove twice. Once from 2010-2012, it was terrible for me, having little kids. I drove again in 2014-16 & it ended up being really hard on my knees and I had to have surgery so I went back inside to work. I always tell people if they want to stay on after peak, start on preload (which is early in the morning loading the trucks). And you only did how many stops when you started? 20-40 stops? That's insane! I was doing 30 stops an hour and working until 8-9pm. That building sounds awesome!

    • @Adutide
      @Adutide  8 месяцев назад

      That's probably because your store didn't have thousands of people trying to be seasonal. We were staff at one point where they had to tell people to go home.

    • @acedogg692005
      @acedogg692005 8 месяцев назад

      @@Adutide lol thousands....? I don't even see a thousand people in a week lol. Our building has anywhere from 20-22 drivers for the year and 33 drivers for peak. Plus pvd's for peak. Them sending people home is all their fault for over staffing. Our preload does that all the time. Hell, I've gone home maybe 30 minutes after start time because of management over staffing.

      Usually, you have to start from the bottom up. This means you will start as a loader in the graveyard shift. Depending on your location there is a seniority wait list for the Driver position. It can take 6 months or 5 years. I can only imagine now with the pay increase.

    Hey guys, what is the first day of driving like? How many hours did the UPS "coach", or whatever they're called, have to drive along in your car with you for training? What time and for how long is your lunch? Did you really have to buy boots or did you get by with only sneakers and nobody said anything? Also with a car did you find putting the packages in the trunk faster to get out first instead of the driver's side backseat?
