Great video and review. best one out there. I just got into 2011's this year with my first StaccatoP. I like the look of this but not sure if its really worth the premium over the Staccato at my level of experience to appreciate the differences. Would love a compact version of the Insurrection.
What do you guys think of doing 5 essential 2011 video? Basically the same one you did for 1911s just for 2011s Still probably the best gun content on RUclips. Keep it up thank you guys for all the informative videos.
Most people don't get an opportunity t0 hold work the action or shoot a real custom fitted gun , a buddy of mine owns 2 , i though the Sig scorpion was glass compared to anything else , then i got my hands on a Cabot and BOY i was impressed !
I have no doubt that it's nicer than your basic Staccato or BUL 2011, but no way a pretty default 2011 is worth more than Atlas or SVI Infinity custom raceguns for open division. While it's absolutely approaching diminishing returns, i can see how you squeeze just a little more out of your Infinity. This Cabot? It's like Rolls Royce removing all of the luxury materials from their car and then calling it a racecar because it's lighter now.
This cabit gun is wY pass the point of diminishing returns. It does the same thing a bul armory or staccato does but doesn't do what the custom race 2011's do. I'm passing on this 7 days a week.
Man I love your content. Beautifully filmed and full of great information. As someone who loves hand made shit, especially watches, knives and guns, I think I just placed an order for this one. Love it!!
Had a Cabot vintage. I found that basic model to be in line with standard Nighthawks, Wilsons, etc. After owning some Atlas's and NH TRS comp, etc, I now measure everything against the Staccato XC. As a shooter, I don't need the diminishing returns of the better fit, detailed milling, sexy finishes or that my split times are .001 better. I need durability, reliability and longevity. With that being said, the grip on that Insurrection looks awesome. Actually looks great on all fronts, and I trust Cabot as a pistol maker. Would love to shoot it but doubt I'd buy one*. 😉 Excellent production value on that video. It's appreciated. Well done!
When compared to the Staccato XC, which would you choose? If you could only have 1. I’m in the market for a 2011 and only want to buy 1. I don’t want to buy a “starter” and then get more. Thoughts?
Beautiful pistol, but a little out of my price range at the moment. What would be your preference between an MPA DS9 & and a Vudoo Priest? It would be just for fun / a range toy. Any other mid-tier options instead of these 2? (preferably
I also would love to hear your opinion on how this compares to the infinity. I’ve had my eye on the Cabot apocalypse for a while, and this has my attention!
You can say "it's 2023" all you want but I know I'm far from alone when I say with my eyes I can snap onto a target significantly faster and more consistantly with irons than I can with a red dot. In fact most red dots on pistols I have to stop while presenting it or between shots to find the dot. Not an issue with irons for me, i present irons are there good to go, follow up shots the nano second the recoil settles the irons are there. LOVE red dots on rifles, will never put one on a pistol again. Anyone reading this wondering about it I strongly suggest going to a range to rent one with and without red dot, find out if it works FOR YOU before wasting a ton of cash (we can't all be YT stars and have $7000 pews lol)
Would love to see a competition model! Money wise, your talking Infinity .. Atlas & Hayes customs which have been repeatedly proven and beaten on the ranges .. bring the price down and put it in shooters hands! Looks good, but how will it stack up to listed above .. nice pistol though

The A model X300 isn’t too tight. There’s a specific way to fit it to a tight 2011. You also need to use the other locking mechanism not the one that comes on X300 A.
It has a full disconnector ramp on the slide. The hammer always makes contact with the firing pin stop on 1911s as you cycle them even with the hammer “cocked”, it’s a requirement of the design.
Would be cool to have a 2011 with a double lower & a single stack lower. Make it so both are easy to remove and replace with the other lower thats included in the package. I do see a problem in doing this because if the hammer shooting, grip safety and possibly the magazine release..... Jake knows this he said “polluted” which can be argued cause seven shooting an one rooted gun at night much like I’m sure you know you do get a little blast doesn’t blur your vision but “pollutes it”. Also in genuinely asking if you have experienced that or if it’s just me!
