Thank you for your video. Binding off by knitting two together in back, came out great. First time to try bind off that way-been knitting about 65 years. Guess you can teach an old dog new tricks,,
I have just used the K2tog tbl method to bind off the hem of a little child’s pinafore dress and it has worked like a treat. I originally used a standard BO which gave no stretch so I unpicked it and searched through your videos as I knew I would find the answer in one of your RUclips videos. Thank you so much Suzanne for giving your time and expertise so generously.
Hi Suzanne, Thank you for the video. I was looking for a more elastic bind off, and came to your page to see what you had. The k2tog tbl is perfect! Thanks again 🙂
You're working on such a small needle/yarn I felt like I was viewing your demo as if is it were under a microscope! I do like the stretchy TBL bind off. I plan on using the technic on my current WIP! :)
Thank you for all your videos. I learned how to knit by watching you and I’ve learned every technique from you... basically I’ve learned almost everything I know from you. I love the way you teach. Thank you again!! Much love 💕
Thank you Suzanne, I have been knitting a little over one year and learn so well with your teaching, I’m concentrating on knitting more loosely as I knit way too tight, your vids are so helpful. Thank you again!
you are a true teacher. I always refer to your tutorials while working on my projects and I learn so much. Thank you for sharing your passion and techniques with us. you make a difference!
I have looked at several ways to to K2tog tbl bind off and I like yours the best. My knitting teach sent me a text message and she said what you showed but I didn’t get it til I saw yours. I think the last one looks really nice with the pop of color showing through which it is doing on Papillion shawl I am trying to finish. Thank you
Thank you so much for this! I recently used the K2TOG and absolutely hated how it looked, so I tried to alternate the K2TOG with a standard bo. It looked a little better, but I am definitely going to try through the back loop next. I want my baby comfy in my hand knits, but I also want the edges to look tidy.
I appreciate all your time making this video. IMHO your BO is very close to the tips of needles, where the taper has a smaller diameter, moreover, you have a good amount of tension on the yarn, and this is why the Traditional BO is coming in last place. The other 2 BO's are of course going to stretch farther and look more substantial, because more stitching is happening (thus more yarn is being used). Traditional BO has its uses...but should be done while using the full shaft of the needle, and the same tension as rest of knitted piece. I suspect if you unraveled the body of your stockinette and put an ink dot in between each purl stitch, and used those dots while performing Traditonal BO, the result would be much more stretchy. I always told my knitting students to superimpose a rectangle between the 2 sts being BO (which necessitated a looser tension) and this gives better result on both CO and BO. Offering these tips as a help, in a positive intention. Merry Christmas!
I am not sure if you understood what I was trying to convey in this video. It is not the size of the needle or the tension, it is how much you pull up on the stitch trying to keep it large, which pulls yarn from the previous stitch creating the tight bind off. But I do welcome your input. Happy Holidays.
Thank you for all the fantastic content you make! I have learned so much from you! I am having trouble with a very specific thing and there is no video for it: two color brioche in the round in magic loop. If you ever decide to make it it would be so great!! Thank you and have a happy holidays!
You are the first channel I go to when I need to know how to knit a certain stitch. Thx again.
Happy to help!🧶

Very nice. Would you mind adding those books you mentioned, to your video description? I'd love to look them up in the library!
In Cast On Bind Off by Leslie Ann Bestor, page 170 - Elastic Bind Off, In Cast On, Bind Off by Cap Sease, page 123, Elastic Bind Off
I wonder if this bind off is stretchier than my normal cast off which is the same as original but I add a yarn round needle after each stitch
The only way to find out is to swatch it and see. Happy knitting.
What is a tubular bind off at the bottom of a sleeve?
The last is the easiest method I’ve found for a cowl.
Wonderful, Madison! 😊
Always great information..DEB

Would the tbl bind off work in a rib? Would you purl tbl ?
This is a great question. try it on a swatch and see what you think.
Can you please teach us how to change colors in round in garter stitch
