I bought a second deep freezer and two rubber buckets from Rural King. I fill those rubber buckets up with water, let them freeze for about 24 hours, then fill the tub up with water and dump the two mini icebergs in there. After about 30mins they've mostly melted and the tub is at about 45 degrees fahrenheit. I set my cellphone alarm for 10mins, turn on a podcast or Rick's YT videos, and focus on deep breathing. Sometimes just for fun I'll move my arms around to disrupt the warmth that builds up around my body just to make it more miserable lol. My setup cost me about $230 roughly (not including the annual electricity for the deep freezer). Turned out a ton cheaper than buying a special cryo tank or buying bags of ice constantly.

I've been doing cold showers for about two years now, and I think what's more difficult than cold showers is convincing other people to do it.
    Great video, as always!

One of my teammates talked me into it few months ago. After training i take normal shower, then i turn off the warm water, i stay until it becomes uncomfortable, and a little more, not too long. It is great really! Also a lot of fun keeping the cold water running for the next man :DDD

I like contrast showers after a good tough training session. Start off hot and wash up quickly, then increase heat a little for 30 sec then down to cold (proper cold, not lukewarm) for 15 sec and cycle between for 3 - 4 times. I find it really aids my recovery and I feel better tthe next day.

I do cold, plunges, and showers, they work great, but I did cryogenics twice, got nothing out of it.

Quick question Rick. My shower head is quite small and because I’m jumping around, freaking out by the temperature too I feel that I’m not getting the full benefit- is a bath better? Also, if you live in country that’s cold in the winter like England, would you get the same benefit by just standing in your back garden in your underpants? Serious question!

Do you do Whim Hof breathing in the cold?

Getting into your breath, makes it easier to relax and be in the cold, but I don’t specifically do Wim Hof breath work in that environment
