Hi Spencer, I am a 25 year old teacher of 7-11 year olds in a Primary School. RUclips and RUclipsrs are really popular within the kids in the school. I have always thought if I saw you in person, I would go out of my way to commend you on how you handle yourself in that you are an exceptional role model to many of these children. They talk about the Paul brothers and others in the Fifa community and after some research last year, I decided (before these recent videos) that they are toxic influences on the children that idolise them. They create videos that are not age appropriate for their own main audience age range. You on the other hand, acknowledge your target audience and hold yourself in such a manner. You are a credit to yourself, youtube and all your fans. You deserve all the success you have earned. Dont go changing Spencer!
This is the exact reason I started my FIFA channel. Being a dad and seeing the top FIFA RUclipsrs channels be littered with swear words and adult type content when it's primarily under 16's that watch them. So having a channel that kids can watch safely with no swearing etc was an important part.
I'm not a massive fan of Spencer because I'm not in his target audience but I definitely used to love his videos. When he's in certain situations he carries himself appropriately e.g. when he's making vids on his own channel he's very family friendly however when he's on the true geordie podcast for example he's very different as he adjusts for the older and more mature audience which i highly respect. Due to this i really enjoy him when he's on the true geordie podcast because of the way he adjusts for the older udicence

For me RUclips as a company and a site started going downhill in 2015 and when Vine started dying in 2015-2016 and the viners immigrated here they have played a part in turning RUclips into what it is today

pewdiepie and and logan paul are not in the same boat in my opinion. pewdiepie didn't really do anything wrong, but was misrepresented by the media, but logan paul genuinely did a lot wrong
Totally agreeable but as Pewdiepie is the most popular youtuber he is going to get stick from anyone no matter what he does and he does need to realise this but I think anyone with more than 5 million subs needs to know that there are people just waiting for the words to slip and be able to start up a huge controversy.
Your sentiments should hopefully be widely shared because they're spot on. People know there's a problem with the type of content that rises to the top on this platform but there's a lot of burying heads in the sand or looking the other way. As horrible as this situation with Logan Paul is, I'm hoping there's a silver lining in there in that it'll finally, *maybe* be the thing that clicks in people's heads, whether they're viewers or creators, and gets them to finally say enough's enough. You said it yourself, RUclips has become so far removed from what it once was and its original purpose has been lost; to share and promote talent and give them a chance where they haven't been able to get one previously. It's been hijacked by greed and money and fame in recent years unfortunately (as happens) so that's been lost, but it doesn't mean it has to stay that way. Just hope it starts to change soon. Very good video! I agree with most of the stuff, except that you describe Logan Paul’s and PewDiePie’s scandals were the same thing. The only only bad thing that PewDiePie has done was said the n-word. All of the other stuff is just misinterpreted by the media. Good video tho!

i've been subbed to spencerfc since the start and always appreciated that you make quality stuff, noticeably better then other fifa youtubers. I can see your frustration at the people who don't make quality and might get more views and subs then you but ultimately that is going to be true of any platform. cheap crap sells... whether its on TV, radio, digital or even when you look at nightclubs. what i like about youtube is we the viewers have the opportunity to sift through it all and personalize what we watch because like you said "anyone" can make videos and put them up, so unlike tv where my options are limited to what cable package i have and what the broadcaster has selected, on youtube there is infinite content at the tip of my fingers, the hard part is sifting through all the crap to get to the good stuff.. some of my favourite channels have 3k subs others have millions...

I do sometimes check out a pewdiepie video but wouldn't say i'm a fan. I'm not comparing the too, I was more using Pewdiepie's situation as an example of external thoughts and reactions towards RUclipsrs. Whilst I don't defend the things he's done in the past, he was massively scapegoated by old media - I was more trying to illustrate why that might be and what the 'old world' think of a lot of us now as a result.

I feel sorry for these youtubers too but any youtuber that is even fairly huge needs to know there are people just waiting for them to accidentally say or do something and then a controversy is thrown in the air, often over nothing. It shouldn't have to be the way it is but sadly it is, and I suppose we haven't even seen much of the media on the side of Pewdiepie that gives loads of money to charity, because some people just want to make the world rot in front of them.
I don't see the problem with what Pewdiepie did. It was satire comedy therefore making him no different to a satire comedian like Frankie Boyle. The media takes these things to seriously due to an interpretation that RUclipsrs don't have the same levels of professionalism as a tv comedian or presenter. That being said, filming and joking around a suicide victim would never be accepted on any platform therefore is a huge strain on the genuine hardworking creators on RUclips.
Just said perfectly. I could search for hours and not find anyone who has said it more perfectly. As a schoolkid, myself, you're around 100's of people who are just at the age where it is almost a guarantee, that they will watch youtube. To me youtube is a youngsters platform and to think sometimes that people sometimes even as young as 7 and 8 watch some of the stuff we've seen, is just diabolical. I sometimes just wonder if I even want to be involved in a platform such as this one, but where else can you go? We've seen television controversies such as the pepsi advert you mentioned and the McDonalds dead dad advert, or even on Britain's got talent, we are always having controversies on there. Music, we have a lot of songs that constantly mention many dirty things, and of course controversial stars such as Jake Paul and Big Shaq. Books are just books, I mean like why am I going to spend 10 quid on something that I may only read once all in one go( I have bought your book btw and have read it millions of times) and then put away and never use again, potentially. I just don't understand why we have so much controversy. Anyways, thank you to anyone who has read this whole thing and I am happy for you to reply your agreement or disagreement.

Spencer is such a good person and he should have way more subs than the pauls and other clickbaity youtubers. He is the definition of a legend unlike these American youtubers
Spencer and 442oons are two of the only RUclipsrs who I watched back when I started watching RUclips about 4 years ago and I still watch now. Spencer is a true inspiration to not just very young audiences but even people who are going into adulthood. He doesn't do things purely for money, he doesn't copy people and makes his own unique series and he is a truly revolutionary character in the FIFA community. Spencer was the first one to put such creative twists on ultimate series and the Wembley cup was a huge advancement of British RUclips in general. He doesn't sit on the easy option and always wants progress in his career (as shown by leaving his job with Vincent kompany).
Nail on the head, Spencer! I just remember the days when people were passionate about making videos, and for me it was FIFA. Back in around FIFA 14 time when you had masses of UK RUclipsrs trying to make good and creative content about the game and football itself. Nowadays it seems people are just in it for the views and the quick bucks. The Paul’s and other RUclipsrs alike seem to have changed what’s popular on the platform, and these vlogs that seem to be deceptive to viewers are now what is becoming popular. The RUclipsrs that used to be passionate about their field of interest are now turning to this new way of creating. KSI is pretty much a “vlogger” now. Thank you Spencer, for all you do for the platform and for keeping your content real and interesting. Your passion has been the same throughout and you’re one of the few RUclipsrs that still make videos because they enjoy and care about making them ❤️
Over the years Spencer has slowly transformed from a daily contact/Personality type of youtuber to a producer style. His style focuses on long-term projects like Hashtag and Wembley Cup. Projects that take a lot of people, time, and planning to make. I think this is where Spencer thrives! Keep up the great work Spen!
Hi spence this is one of the most honest, reasonable video on RUclips talking about the problems and has really cleared my mind about what is really going wrong this was different gravy mate and hopefully can help others as well.
I do find it very interesting that you, sometimes, don't mention yourself as a youtuber. I can't agree more with the point you made regarding the fact that the problem won't go away until the audience realises how trash some content out there is. Personally, as I grew older I found myself questioning how I found certain videos interesting and in my opinion the paul brothers... will thrive unless something happens (advertisers deciding they don't want their products associated with some sort of content or even youtube algorithm changes that privileges other content instead). I don't see the problem with what Pewdiepie did. It was satire comedy therefore making him no different to a satire comedian like Frankie Boyle. The media takes these things to seriously due to an interpretation that RUclipsrs don't have the same levels of professionalism as a tv comedian or presenter. That being said, filming and joking around a suicide victim would never be accepted on any platform therefore is a huge strain on the genuine hardworking creators on RUclips.

Just said perfectly. I could search for hours and not find anyone who has said it more perfectly. As a schoolkid, myself, you're around 100's of people who are just at the age where it is almost a guarantee, that they will watch youtube. To me youtube is a youngsters platform and to think sometimes that people sometimes even as young as 7 and 8 watch some of the stuff we've seen, is just diabolical. I sometimes just wonder if I even want to be involved in a platform such as this one, but where else can you go? We've seen television controversies such as the pepsi advert you mentioned and the McDonalds dead dad advert, or even on Britain's got talent, we are always having controversies on there. Music, we have a lot of songs that constantly mention many dirty things, and of course controversial stars such as Jake Paul and Big Shaq. Books are just books, I mean like why am I going to spend 10 quid on something that I may only read once all in one go( I have bought your book btw and have read it millions of times) and then put away and never use again, potentially. I just don't understand why we have so much controversy. Anyways, thank you to anyone who has read this whole thing and I am happy for you to reply your agreement or disagreement.

Spencer and 442oons are two of the only RUclipsrs who I watched back when I started watching RUclips about 4 years ago and I still watch now. Spencer is a true inspiration to not just very young audiences but even people who are going into adulthood. He doesn't do things purely for money, he doesn't copy people and makes his own unique series and he is a truly revolutionary character in the FIFA community.
Spencer was the first one to put such creative twists on ultimate series and the Wembley cup was a huge advancement of British RUclips in general. He doesn't sit on the easy option and always wants progress in his career (as shown by leaving his job with Vincent kompany).

Nail on the head, Spencer! I just remember the days when people were passionate about making videos, and for me it was FIFA. Back in around FIFA 14 time when you had masses of UK RUclipsrs trying to make good and creative content about the game and football itself. Nowadays it seems people are just in it for the views and the quick bucks. The Paul’s and other RUclipsrs alike seem to have changed what’s popular on the platform, and these vlogs that seem to be deceptive to viewers are now what is becoming popular. The RUclipsrs that used to be passionate about their field of interest are now turning to this new way of creating. KSI is pretty much a “vlogger” now. Thank you Spencer, for all you do for the platform and for keeping your content real and interesting. Your passion has been the same throughout and you’re one of the few RUclipsrs that still make videos because they enjoy and care about making them ❤️

Over the years Spencer has slowly transformed from a daily contact/Personality type of youtuber to a producer style. His style focuses on long-term projects like Hashtag and Wembley Cup. Projects that take a lot of people, time, and planning to make. I think this is where Spencer thrives! Keep up the great work Spen!

I do find it very interesting that you, sometimes, don't mention yourself as a youtuber. I can't agree more with the point you made regarding the fact that the problem won't go away until the audience realises how trash some content out there is. Personally, as I grew older I found myself questioning how I found certain videos interesting and in my opinion the paul brothers... will thrive unless something happens (advertisers deciding they don't want their products associated with some sort of content or even youtube algorithm changes that privileges other content instead).
