  • Who was Snow White's mother? And what other critical information is missing from the feature film?
In this episode of Distory, we start a new series on the history of the Snow White attractions of the Disney parks. But before we can discuss the rides, we have to pay homage to the first-ever full-length feature animation that made it all possible:
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. In this episode, we take a journey back in time to learn why Snow White was first, what story elements you might have missed without more context, some missing scenes, and more than a few rejected dwarf names. We discuss the innovative use of rotoscoping and the multiplane camera and hear from the animators themselves about their experience working on the film. We end this episode with some inspiring words from Walt Disney himself and spend a few moments reflecting on the importance of not giving up even when others don’t believe in your dream.

I realize an in depth breakdown like this isn’t for everyone but I *really loved* learning so much about my fave Princess! This very much felt like listening to 2 friends chatting & even the lack of editing was endearing. Solid content! You can tell yall did the research here. Thank you for sharing! This was fun!

I’m so glad you enjoyed it! 🥰 I did, believe it or not, edit this quite a bit 😂 but we leave in our “human” moments because it’s just who we are 😊

What do you guys think of the theory that Snow White does indeed die at the end, and the castle in the sky represented Heaven?

That’s not what is in the novelization, her dream was always to go to his castle in the clouds so it’s just her dream coming true is all.
