  • The molinillo (cacao whisk) is an ancient tool used to mix and emulsify cacao in a traditional ceremony. Juan Alonso (Rayon - Mexico) is an expert in crafting these beautiful whisks and shares his knowledge and skills with us about how he constructs each piece. It is a combination of what he calls "hands, head and heart". No two molinillos are the same and each is carved from a single piece of sustainably produced Andean elder tree. His family workshop produces molinillos and continues to preserve the ancient traditions that surround the use of ceremonial cacao in Meso and South America.
