I like their reactions, It’s like they have discovered life for the first time. It’s funny seeing people complaining about the recoil of a pistol, or visibly flinching.
Especially a 9mm or 45 auto that's full sized lol. If someone thinks that is bad, try shooting a contender (single shot pistol with many different barrels you can buy in different calibers) in either 30-30 or 45-70, both are rifle cartridges, and the contender is a single shot break open handgun with a 14 inch barrel. It probably weighs only slightly more than a full sized semi-auto but it can shoot full on rifle rounds. It's a fun gun to shoot though, i need to get to the range to shoot mine again sometime

Unironically, that's the way my paternal uncles do to relax.
Long distance shooting at targets more than 500 meters. Controlling your breathing and your heartrate for that accurate shot is very much a meditative activity from my experience.
Garnt was doing the worst of all of them in the shooting portion, but ironically was the only one who shouldered the shotgun correctly 😂 thats why your shoulders hurt boys😂

Honestly, that instructor isn't so good if he didn't correct them on it while there. I was 11 the first time I fired a shotgun, and the range instructors instructed everyone how to properly shoulder them.

@@atlasjef2669 I am sure they did, and probably gave them examples, but nerves and excitement as well as never holding a gun before probably factored into them shouldering them incorrectly. My father taught me how to shoot a gun and it took me a few days out at a range to get it just right in the shoulder.

Originally, there was meant to be a third segment of this special which was gonna be the biggest and longest one (Nascar/racing segment)
Unfortunately, filming was scheduled a few days after Aer Lingus losing all our equipment, so even after a few days of panic finding what we could, we ended up with a third of the filming equipment we were meant to have.
Due to the complexity of a shoot at a race course, alot of footage wasn't enough to work with, and only had enough to competently film our final time trial race. (Originally we had 3 separate cars doing individual training)
This means there's a whole day of race car training and Banter that wasn't caught on camera, so we decided to cut that segment out completely.
You can see the final race in the patreon cut, but there is no build up or context to what happened earlier in the day.
Anyway, hope you still enjoy what could be filmed!"

The biggest curtail to mass shootings currently wouldn't be any potential new safety restrictions we could add on to the 2nd amendment, but the government themselves not being too lazy to do their job in situations where it matters most.

The recoil makes the gun flip and twirl around your trigger finger, like a very confused Ocelot, literally pointing a gun at yourself. Even worse is if they accidentally bump fire it again in the millisecond confusion, since their finger is still on the trigger.

In all seriousness, I find it so interesting seeing people from other countries shoot for the first time. I was like 7 years old the first time I shot a gun. Sometimes I forget that’s not normal for most people
Even in the US I don't think that's common, tbh, although it might depend on the region. I didn't shoot my first until some time in high school.
I was 10 shooting a 12 gauge i weighed like 80 pounds id say 7-12 is fairly common starting age for more rural areas
In New Zealand it’s common to shoot air rifles (at school camp in primary school or at carnivals) but an actual proper gun is pretty rare. I’ve never even seen a proper gun in real life. Our police don’t carry guns. I knew some boys in high school who had guns and went hunting but most kids had never even seen one.
I've lived in the US my whole life (Texas in particular) and have never shot a gun. I'd like to though and my dad has said he's willing to take me to the range

Im an American and a gun owner. Firearms to me feel the same way as a chainsaw. We use them in video games like they are nothing but when you get ahold of one in real life it’s like wow, this is a tool, and if I don’t use this properly I could cause some serious damage to myself or things around me. You have to have some respect and really treat these things like tools.

I agree with you on everything. There have only been a few times I shot a gun, all of them being at Boy Scout Camp with BB Guns. Whenever I was around one, the only thing running through my mind would be, "I don't trust ANYONE with this dangerous thing, not even myself."

As a Texan, I'm totally fine with people shooting all kinds of guns at gun ranges. By all means have fun in a safe location guided and monitored by professionals. Beyond that, I don't feel like getting into the whole gun debate.

Great job guys! Fun video. I love seeing people shoot for their first time. Since you guys obviously had fun, NEXT time you get to shoot any firearm with a butt stock like a shotgun or rifle, it helps prevent pain in your shoulder to make sure to pull the gun tight into your shoulder before you fire. Man I like to see Garnt handle those fire arms pretty well. As a life long fire arm user. Garnt looked pretty competent. And I was really happy to see Connor finally win in a special. This just really warms my heart. I wish I could take these guys to one of my gun ranges and really have some fun. But I think they all did very well for first time gun users, it can be understandably very Nerv wracking to use a fire arm for the first time. I give them all props very doing well and being very safe, I noticed that were very conscious to keep the weapon down range.

Im glad they had fun at the range. They're right for the first time shooting guns are really intimidating. I was actually surprised how well they did when it came to aim. I wonder what scope they used on the semi because when I learned them in the army I always had trouble.

Ha ha, the anxious feeling definitely goes away once you pull that trigger the first time. I go all the time now and even have my own 'equipment', if you ever get the chance in your life you should definitely give it a go!

No video can compare to how loud a gunshot is, especially next to you. Beyond how "loud" it actually is, even with ear protection many shots will make your ear ring, especially if you're pressing your face against a cheek rest.
@@bluehemlock1156 that is true, I would think its a firecracker / fireworks before thinking its a gunshot if one did happen to fire in near me. Those videos where you see people in a country without guns being clueless and confused when they heard a gunshot is a genuine reaction
