The electrical just slips under the base collar. If you want to wire it through the collar you can, just drill a hole through it and you're set. For the drainage it will drain behind the collar. It is the most aesthetically pleasing option. If you don't like that option, you can notch the base collar (quite easy to do) and modify drainage how you see fit.

How does the drain or electrical wire work with the new base collars? There is no hole for water to drain or the electrical wire to exit.
