Will be flying e175 soon. Love the channel. Hopefully this gives me a little jump in understanding on my type rating. Thanks for everything you post man!

Good luck! I pretty much make videos on what I wish I'd watched before my own type rating, several years ago. Best of luck and let me know how else I could help.

Thanks for your great content! Have X-crafts fixed many of the issues that you brought up in your stream where you evaluated if it is study level? I am considering purchasing to prepare for training but am really disappointed with the initial release not simulating VNAV PATH properly for instance (along with the many other items you mentioned). I have heard that the Prepare3D E75 is good as well albeit older. Which is better for training purposes in your estimation (I don't care about the visuals)? Thank you!!

Hi Christopher, to be honest, I stopped tracking the updates to both X-Craft and FSS Embraers, which are the latest addons. I can't really say what right now is the best. I will say this: When I made the video series on Embraer systems (Playlist can be found on my channel), I have used the Feelthere on Prepar3D, and was quite happy with the systems simulation, but the flight model was quite horrendous. Maybe in the several months that passed, one of the newer addons to the newer sims got better. The X-craft was not bad at all, and I think the developer ahowed good potential. Since I'm not collaborating with them, I frankly had better things to do than to track each and every update they released since, maybe it made it better since. I MAY get around to check it out, eventually.

So, are there any big differences that aren't in the plane like SIDs and STARs? And if possible how does it compare to x-crafts? (Also can you change the winglet types?) Thank you so much for all that you do!

    • @crew-rest
      @crew-rest  11 месяцев назад

Most important things are in both. There are many differences, feel free to check out the video, I do point out what I notice while I do. I didn't do a direct comparison list or anything like that...

Greetings Captain, you have considered writing in the X-Craft forum naming all the things that are missing in the Ejects to have a product closer to reality, your contribution would be valuable. thank you

Hi, I have been in touch with the developer about a few things. But to actively test, list and explain everything would be a lot of work for me, beta testing is a lot of work. I appreciate those that do it, however my personal plate is full enough. The development team do know to reach out with questions, some of them pertain the items I noted in my video.

    Hello from germany,
You said that the LOAD 27 is more and more being in use compared to LOAD 25, especially in newer EMB 170-195 aircrafts.
Please, can you make a tutorial for the LOAD 25, too?
Another real EMB family pilot from USA or Canada who also uses Flightsim and was explaining the LOAD 25, wrote that many companies havent upgraded their software to LOAD 27 because it costs at least 30000$ or more + costs for updates, for every aircraft.
That is why many operators dont want to upgrade.
Anyhow, can you please explain what the:
    1)
    ALT03 means in magenta color?
    I mean the first waypoint.
Whar would hapoen if you set an alt or speed constraint next to the ALT03 waypoint?
    2)
Is there a secondary flightplan in the FMS?
    3)
How do you enter the Trustreduction altitude/acceleration altitude?
    4)
    How do you enter EOSID?
    5)
Can you create own waypoints and name them?
    6)
Can you please show how you plan an ETOPS flight or is not possible under normal operations?
    7)
Does your company in real life use a male voice for TCAS II ?
    8)
    Does your company use RAAS?
If yes, does it use the male of female voice?
    Thank you for your help!

      Hi!
First of all, that is correct, the upgrade from EPIC Load 25 to 27 is quiet expansive, but it is key to implement newer abilities, such as CPDLC, GPS WAAS (LPV), lower RNP values than 0.3 RNP AR approaches, etc. It's a cost balance between the cost of the upgrade, and the cost of cancelling flights that cannot comply with the appropriate lower operational weather minima that these upgrades offer.
If you look through my channel, you'll find a playlist of videos of Embraer E-Jets Normal Procedures, those videos are done in load 25.
      1. *ALT03 is magenta colored because it is the active waypoint (the current leg is from the runway to that waypoint) and it is a conditional waypoint (*), which is not fixed in a certain location, but is set to whenever we meet a certain altitude, I'm not sure which that one was. I believe I can change said altitude. I cannot, however, create such conditional point myself.
      2. Yes, the load 27 offers a Secondary Flight Plan, load 25 does not.
      3. Thrust reduction and acceleration altitude can be entered from DEP LIMIT page prompted from Takeoff page.
      4. There is no standard way to enter an EOSID, which really is a misleading title, as it is not a Standard procedure, and in most airports - ATC will not know what is your Engine Failure Procedure (EFP) so you would have to verbally let them know if you are what you are doing in that case. In most cases, by default, it is runway heading. If it is any different, it's usually quite simple to remember. If the EFP is especially complex, you can utilize Flight Plan 2, for example, and if needed - activate it.

      Continued:
      5. You can create your own waypoints with several different format options, for example WPT/RAD/DIS, WPT//DIS, etc. They would appear in generic names. I'm not sure about naming them, it might be possible in NAV DATA pages somewhere, nobody really does that to my knowledge, but maybe you can dig it up in the books.
      6. Planning an ETOPS is mostly a flight planning thing, it doesn't have to do much with flying the airplane or programming the FMC any differently. It is mostly Dispatch work regarding weather minima, Equal Time Points, etc. Feel free to check other videos on my channel, regarding Flight Planning and What Do I Look For When Checking OFP. I made two separate videos on it. Embraer has quite a low ETOPS time (maximum time to alternate), mainly due to it's fire extinguishing capabilities, but due to that, operators don't usually certify it, nor are they required to put additional survival related equipment on board. It is probably different to unique aircraft configured as business jets, but even then, they have different regulation requirements, and it depends under which regulations they operate them.
      7. TCAS is male voice in my company, yes.
      8. My company does not use RAAS.
I hope I helped, let me know if you have any other questions, and please go through my channel to find more detailed explanations on your questions.
      Happy flying!

      Hi!
Thank you very much for taking time to answer my questions.
I discovered your channel recently because of the new X-Craft EMB-family.
I watched a couple of videos, but will try to watch more.
I still have a question about the "conditional waypoint" ALT03.
Yes, the waypoint is active and is the first waypoint after you take off from the runway.
But I still dont understand the function for it. I mean what is the purpose?
In the LOAD25 of Wilco feelthere you can add constraints to it.
First I thought it is an altitude where the thrust reduction altitude is initiated.
But I am wrong, I guess. So it still leaves a question mark in my head.
      Regarding the waypoint formats:
Can you please show me examples?
I know the PBD Point/Bearing/Distance function.
For example for EOSID, I create a waypoint which has a 25NM Distance from the runway, then runway heading, and then distance.
And it works good. In LOAD25 this PBD waypoint is then stored and indicated in the waypoint list. I dont have a secondary flightplan in LOAD 25, but in case of an engine failure, I can activate the PBD waypoint femrom the waypoint list and follow it. Then I can create a holding at the end of it.
Can you please show me the other formats of waypoints?
      Like PB/PB?
If you would create Northatlantic track coordinates, how do you type in the coordinates?
Can you show how you type in an offset , please?
For exampme 2.5NM right offset. How would you type it in?
Once again, thank you for your help and I hope we can see much more Embraer Videos in the future!
