    I agree with the fact that the answer is both and that some progress better than others. I believe that a lot of my singing ability has been acquired throughout the years. I even have video proof of my vocal improvement and it's honestly quite drastic. I was blessed with the ability to greatly improve my vocal ability. Things I've acquired are a proper mixed register, a greater range up to A4 belt and D5 mixed (before E4 and F4 were a struggle and i had no mixed register), vibrato, a much better tone, the ability to do grittier or raspy tones, and maybe a better lung capacity.

      Congrats on your progress dude, I'm working at straight toning at the moment and it's driving me a bit insane hah!

    But you can't deny that having a baritone hardware is very limiting, makes everything harder, and even if you develop great technique you will still sound less flexible and sharp whenever you attempt anything remotely melodic.

      Yeah for sure it's different, most of us would give a right arm to sound as good as the Baritones I mentioned, they didn't think about their limits they just got good.

      @R.C.Bullar 4 года назад +2

      jakobo88 it’s only limitation is trying to be something you are not. No body would say Frank Sinatra would have been better as a tenor. That’s just silly man. Sure if you are a true Bari (which you most likely are not) but if you are, that’s a pure blessing! No matter how much you train as a tenor you will never have that rich bottom end that a bari has. And you can be very pitch accurate and have flexibility as a baritone.

      jakobo88 Nobody at a coffee house gig is going to listen to you and go “man, he was spectacular, but he couldn’t hit high C so he’s garbage”
      That WILL NEVER HAPPEN,,,, EVER. People latch on to you being able to tell a story from beginning to end with great dynamics and Great artistic choices along the way. People will love hearing if you do that , bari, Bass, tenor, doesn’t matter at all. And by the way, baritones can have beautiful C5s. It just takes time and effort, and that goes for tenors too. It take years to be able to have consistent high notes period. Doesn’t matter the voice type.

    If we put aside the anatomy which is obviously a major factor and the "colour" of the voice that you are born with it and can not actually change I believe there is another factor that most of us don't pay much attention to. In order to produce a good/right sound you have to be able to listen to it first to understand it in your mind to shape it. And then try to actually produce it. So it depends on how our minds are perceiving and process sound as well. Which is in the most part biology. But all the rest can be taught and/improved I think. Even for "natural" singers.
    P.S. I love barrytones. That resonance! It's a lush!

      So all in all I agree it is a marriage between the two. In different percentages of contribute to that marriage depending on the person.

      Great comment, agree many of us perceive the sound itself crudely/inaccurately so when we go to make the sound we aren't aiming for the right target.

    In my view point, voice is god gifted..( it can be made also ) ..Actually I have never been to vocal classes.. but I can sing.. Just a thing is some might not be able to sing completely i.e some may not have the high notes controls like me..I think the god gifted can sing but they may not be complete package ♥️😊♥️ ( some might me ) .....

    I am a natural baritone, with a desire to nail A4 in chest with body.
    I suspect this can be done with correct technique. I can get to just 2 semitones below without a real clue.
    Time to book another lesson I reckon.

      Keep working in time it will come, A4 full out is a realistic goal for the vast majority of males.

      @@BecomingANaturalSinger Speak tomorrow and we can work on this. Easy in falsetto but want a lot more chest in there, so a mixed voice A4 would be grand.

    I think I was born with a great potential but growing up my parent we never really into music related stuff and I was really shy so I never was encouraged to experiment this potential. Now I’m 20 and I want to sing, I’m finally going to explore my voice but I’ve grown with no practice no support but with relevant anxiety so sometime I just wonder is it my limit or and my just freezing by fear? I’ve always had compliments on my speaking voices and was told I’d probably sing well, my sister had to sing for her class in kindergarten and turn out her voice is very sweet and nice. So I know this my seems like A reach but I’m holding on to those few hopes honestly. I want to over come my fear, and sing with my potential and always going further

    To be made you must be born. I have caught you in a catch 22. Therefore to be released you shall be required to release a new album OR series of videos discussing singing technique.

      Most Baritones sing down to around the bottom of the guitar E / F / F#.

    As a programmer, I love your software and hardware analogy, it makes a lot of sense. I have a question - I understand your focus is on singing, hence your focus with this channel, but for me personally I'm less interested in learning to sing better than to imitate others' Qur'an recitations better. If you know anything about Qur'an recitation (lots of videos on RUclips if you're interested), would you say most of the same techniques that you teach can be applied here, or is Qur'an recitation too different to be relevant?

    • @BecomingANaturalSinger
      @BecomingANaturalSinger  4 года назад +1

      Great singers around the world use broadly speaking exactly the same technique, the variations you hear are mostly stylistic which I don't cover so much on this channel which is mostly mechanics focused.

    hello my story it's kinda funsad, i was playing the guitar had a punkrock band and now compose electronic music its like ten years now, and all this years i was thinking that i can't sing, just because in my youth had some idiots that were making fun of me cause i use to sing very nasal and so on and nowadays a friend of mine was sending me messages, like bro bro sing for me a on a beat from yours i know that you play the guitar bla bla, i was thinking a few days that i still can't sing, and just gave it a try, send him the demo a few days later and to a few of my friends so, they were kinda overwelmed lol, asking if that is me on the record, i got some support and now sing like three weeks and my range starts at f2, but it's okay for me from a2 and goes up to c4 and yes, it was not c4 until i watched your first vid and yes it's chest c4 not head c4,before i could get just h3, and i new that something is wrong with myself, i felt some tention but knew that this is bullshit and somthing isnt right with my brain not my voice, so yea, just give it a go guys with the right tech you'll be fine, you are what you think you are nothing else; about this kinda range, would wish to reach the g4, cause i mainly compose hip hop and want to kinda singrap, so it's my next goal, you made my day ;d your vids just gotten me out of unsure shit

      Yeah dude, work on it and improve. Every singer can find a way to get good, it's mostly just a question of work ethic and a lot of time.
