My mind and self confidence has always been my downfall. Often i will randomly do a scale at random say if im cooking or something, and effortlessly get high notes. Then if i check the pitch, in amazement, then try to repeat it,i clam up. Annoying to say the least! Im saving up for a lesson, hopefully see you soon. Thank you.

Doing it correctly once is the first step, doing it correctly every single time is where we do all of the hardest work.

I did not expect this video to hit such an accurate nail on its head as it did, wow. I've postponed taking up singing my whole life because I perceive myself as shy and that has affected my capacity to use my voice (whether singing or communicating) for years.

I sometimes want to scream with the most I can in open, but when I get there I change my mind because of fear, being to self conscious
James Brown is one of those who did not have that fear, he was completely in the music

I love that you often address the psychology involved in singing. It's typically overlooked but is a large part of doing what we do.
    Keep on keepin' on.

@@BecomingANaturalSinger Now is a perfect time for all of us, having to maintain social distances, to get down to the nitty gritty and really hone our skills. I have a huge number of friends that are singers: I shared your channel with my them (on Facebook and otherwise) and have been perishable sharing specific videos.
Looking forward to hearing more from you.

When I was a kid I also thought I just did not have born with the beautiful voice, but even tho I would sing very close to the speaker bc I loved doing that until one day my father show up and told me to shut the f up bc my voice was irritating him and he said I didn't sing very well. So sadly I stopped and never sang again. I am about to make 29yo and everytime I try to sing I just cannot do it. Everytime someoneis looking at me or when I start to noticing my voice I loose it all. I wish I could push away all of that frustration in order to develop a bare minimum notion of singing correctly. Sad story but real.

Can be very tough at the beginning, it does get easier with time and practice.

Search for solutions, if you search long enough you'll find a way forwards. Context matters I have more inhibition teaching and performing than I do practicing, this is normal.
