Hi Carl, Merry Christmas. I still haven’t gotten round to booking that lesson - Unfortunately, I had a bit of a setback recently - Can you provide some expert opinion please? A few weeks ago I had a sore throat - however, bizarrely, for two days my voice became completely joined up throughout my range, I estimate 4 octaves and with crisp vocal cord adduction. It was almost miraculous, there was no song I couldn’t sing (mainly rock - such as Aerosmith). Vocal exercises that I typically struggle with, were a breeze. Unfortunately, as my throat recovered, my voice reverted back to being slightly unjoined and a bit breathy again at the top end. My question: Does this prove that with correct technique I could achieve this wonderful effect permanently? Or conversely does it show that some physiological change (such as swollen vocal cords) is the only way I can ever zip up my voice from top to bottom? Any advice much appreciated.
I watched tons of videos about Thinning out the voice. I'm a female singer with a range F2 to F5. In exercisesw hen I want to thin out my vocal chords I hit a ceiling around D5, D#5. Gee, Goo, lip trills , wee, woah. nothing is working. On good days E5 is possible with lip trills or muffled tongue trills ( like Shalby Rollins explained it in one of her videos) I can sing kind of loud to F5 but it is impossible for me to reach E5 in a lighter tone. Any suggestions? Thanks guys!!
I'm a baritone, probably a low one. For now I'm mastering a middle range I can go up to C5 with "nei" exercise but in songs singing higher D#4 is hard in any tone but gradually is easier. I don't train notes higher C5 much but sometimes what's helps me to get very thin tone up to F5-F#5 is just practicing very quietly. You kinda make an "ooh" mouth shape with a jar a little dropped. It should be loose and free and you make a squeaky sound but very quietly. I can yell up to G5 in head voice but my jar usually tenses and not very comfortably. And I can do either very light or very loud no middle ground.
Hey man miss your videos keep working mate you'll get there
with enough good work and dedication, anything is possible
