    The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe: Prepare to enter another world when Walt Disney Pictures and Walden Media present C.S. Lewis' timeless and beloved adventure. With the stunningly realistic special effects, you'll experience the exploits of Lucy, Edmund, Susan, and Peter, four siblings who find the world of Narnia through a magical wardrobe while playing a game of "hide-and-seek" at the country estate of a mysterious professor. Once there, the children discover a charming, once peaceful land inhabited by talking beasts, dwarfs, fauns, centaurs, and giants that has been turned into a world of eternal winter by the evil White Witch, Jadis. Aided by the wise and magnificent lion Aslan, the children lead Narnia into a spectacular climactic battle to be free of the Witch's glacial powers forever!

    Damn this scene did an absolutely brilliant job of portraying courage. It isn't the absence of fear, it's feeling the fear and pushing on anyway. One of my favorite scenes in cinema.

      General Oreius was right numbers don’t always win battles we just need to rely on our skills of combat and moves then we can win the battle even without bigger numbers and make use a few boobytraps as well to make the enemy army loose more of there soldiers and that will give us a way better chance like the Gryphon bombardment of giant rocks and the archers one is well man his high majesty King Edmund, Mr Brave and the other hero Narnia's archers too a whole lot of evil soldiers of Jadis army down didn’t they she will not be very please about that looks her army needed more training then she thought ow dear indeed yeah!

    Edit: when the music plays as the spawn of hell come up over the cliff, it gives me chills. I love that Peter is riding a unicorn; the animal universally acknowledged for symbolizing purity. The two armies are vastly different in the make of the animals. Aslan's side has animals built for speed: cheetahs, horses, rhinos, gryphons, and centuars. Meanwhile, the Witch, clothed in Aslan's fur, rides behind two lumbering polar bears. Her army consists of limping werewolves, drunken giants, small fairy-folk, and short but sturdy dwarves. She did not want speed; she wanted strength. I also must say, that I love the part when the Phoenix comes in, and starts the grass on fire, mimicking when God put fire between the Israelites and the Egyptians at the edge of the Dead Sea.

    Hint if you have a smaller army and ur against a large army that will attack no matter what as they dont care about casualties, dont charge in their face, hold the line in the rocks to reduce the benefit of the greater numbers and pepper them with arrows, even without the reinforcements the good guys certainly could have won with the terrain available.

      This is what happens when you let an teenager lead an army when he no experience of medieval battle tactics. This battle plan made no sense. Charge into open field against an enemy, take your archers completely out of the equation, release your secret weapon of the birds too early and expose them to enemy archer fire unnecessarily. Terrible strategy.
      And then, to make it even worse, Peter comes up with just as bad a plan in the 2nd movie, where he once again commits to open field battle against a far better equipped and numerically superior army and once again needs a Deus Ex Aslan to ride in and save them. Solid enough movies, terrible actual leadership from Peter.

    • @v_cpt-phasma_v689
      @v_cpt-phasma_v689 2 года назад +16

      @@1532JJ yup it seems too common nowadays to see completely ridiculous battle plans being portrayed, game of thrones made me want to scream, you have an insanely strong castle, you also have a well dug out trench, do they use either to the full extent? no they stand infront of both like morons, dont even get me started on the full frontal cavalry charge by the dothraki, have all men behind the trench with the walls full of archers, as the dead crawl through they are easy targets meanwhile the archers massacre them, you then have the dothraki charge their rear in a classic hammer and anvil, the dothraki would have been immensely valuable against the looser rear formation of the dead rather than the tight packed swamp at the front, they could have wiped the army out without having to kill the night king

    • @TheRynator14
      @TheRynator14 2 года назад +11

      I agree if your army composition suits such encounters. However, the forces fighting for Aslan are mostly composed of high mobility centaurs, and the forces of the witch are mostly on foot. Holding the line would be beneficial for the archer support yes, but you forfeit the mass bonus of the centaurs on not charging. The charge of cavalry, particularly against a force with no formation, can be a deadly blow. The other issue is due to the larger size of the centaurs, Aslans army is more susceptible to arrow fire than the Witch's. Tieing down the Witch's archers is really the only option here.
      You see this come into example in the battle of the Pelennor fields in Lotr. By your argument, since the Rohirrim also hold bows, they should hold an allow the forces of Mordor to advance on them. However, doing so would simply allow the Orc archers to kill off the Rohirrim slowly.
      Tdlr, if there are plains that cavalry can charge on, they should charge on them. Cavalry aren't a defensive tool, they are an offensive one
