Nice review. I went ahead and build my own e-board. It's pretty rad, duel motor 12s setup. goes forever top speed of 28mph, but has all kinds of issues I have to mess with. Brakes are shit which makes it super sketchy. I'm also waiting for the perfect e-board. I will tell you that when you get comfortable with the 18-22 mph, you end up wanting more, especially if you have hills to climb. So all of you that are considering the 16-18mph range boards, don't waist your time. You'll regret it as soon as your bombing hills. I'm still holding out for the perfect board. It will be interesting to see what boosted does next. I hope they do a in-wheel motor. Hell, I might even make a quad in wheel motor version as soon as those wheel/motor combos are available.
+f0t0b0y Well Id take a more sketchy ride for speed any day. All of these builds seem too slow for the amount of money i want to spend. id drop my entire tax return (1.6k) into a bored that can hit 28mph
Thanks for the review, I've been eyeing boosted for the last 10 months, I've seen some guys around UCSD riding it, (biggest campus of all UC's) and wasn't sure if I should commit to it or not, and your review was a convincing factor in me purchasing the dual+. It'll be on my door this Tuesday and I can't wait to ride it.
the range seems very limited in comparison with the evolve boards just 1/3 the range, are the 7 miles at least at full speed ? and evolve is cheaper, why would I choose a boosted board ? hint: i really want to know I´m into buying one of those
im just scared that when i order a boosted board , it might come with a fualty battery. Will it work normaly when i have it ? I just dont want it to come with a fualty battery that cant charge the board.
uhh...I searched for mellow board in Hong Kong and this was there too...so is this video in hk???if yes then where to buy and how much...and thank you for the video
lol.. heya Court.. glad to see this IS you, when I saw the thumbnail I thought someone might have been ripping off your ebike reviews.. will be watching to see what pops up here as well.. have you heard about the Mellow board?. it doesn't look like it's coming till next year but worth a mention I reckon as it not only has switchable batteries but you can switch the drive truck to any old deck ya like.. looking forward to seeing this becoming an everyday part of the world myself..
+Monstaah Ha! Yeah, I created this second channel so I could keep things organized. There are a ton of cool light electric vehicles out there and I'd love to do more reviews as I keep traveling. This Boosted board was cool, I'll definitely keep an eye out for the Mellow board, thanks for the tip ;)
The cheapest version of this board is $999. But I think I would still rather get the Onewheel board for 1500 because the wheel is HUGE and would never get stuck, you can go on gravel, water & skidding is not a problem, and the onewheel looks like a lot more fun and actually feels like snowboarding/surfing.
+Shaquille Davis The Onewheel is very cool, I got to try one at Burning Man earlier this year for a bit and was really surprised, it's almost like magic and the larger wheel is very cool. The only difficult part is getting off, the wheel like spins for a minute and falls over... I think I need more practice ;)
Review the marbel board .. Specs 25 mph top speed. 20% hill incline single drive 2000w motor. 10 mile range on sport mode (gunning it full speed) Eco mode 16 miles. I would like to see a comparison.
riskygaming clan Marble board is like a belted version of the STARY board. The only thing is because it is belted there will be more drag when using it as a normal long board.
+Just BringIt yea I've seen and own it. I have zero problems. The board is Great, every spec from marbel has been true. The board is great , they are a start up company so they will have there problems. Boosted has the same problems, the company is small and growing. You never hear the good , always the bad. Trust me everyone still on the blog are people who don't own one (trolls) or someone that had a faulty board. I will stand behind marbel since my board has been great. It's not a fraud they are real. I have put 80 miles of riding threw my board and I'm loving it.
riskygaming clan The people on the blog are not frauds; you have to pledge money only backers can comment on the blog. I think the only fraud here is you. You probably work for them lol. Boosted is not a small company anymore and they have had much success in the past year and a half. They are a lot bigger than Marbel will ever be. Boosted boards are available on Amazon that is all you need to know if they are good or not. Marbel won't be on Amazon anytime soon, espcially with the way they are dealing with customer service and the technical issues that are appearing in their boards by people who have backed them up. You wouldn't be asking for a comparison if you had purchased the board. You are a fraud and a horrible liar. But, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say you sound like someone who has purchased a Marbel board and are trying to justify your purchase by convincing other people on the internet so you can believe it yourself lol. I pity the fool.
are you saying that i can quick charge the battery by just grabbing on to the back of a pick+up, and getting towed without the use of the battery will recharge it?? get back at me please, hey your a thank you person
No? The only way it charges is when you hit the brake. Idk if you want to hit the brake while holding on to a car. But if u get speed then let go the brake and repeat it'll charge like going downhill
+Tony H yes, it's possible but it'll take forever, honestly it's more of a gimmick they don't give you how much it actually recharges because it's such a low percentage it's literally insignificant.
+Nivesh Proag I guess the question at that point would be why? Im not into horseback riding and I dont see why the advent of a mechanical robot horse would change that.
Ker Plunk Many people not into horseback riding in the past drive cars now, which is basically a mechanical robot horse. The usefulness of having one is not the same as the other.
Nivesh Proag i would argue the usefulness is not very arguable when you could get a bike for 200 bucks, that would be like some guy rather buying diamond encrusted heelies instead of a running shoe
Ker Plunk There is an awesomeness factor, but nothing like 'diamond encrusted heeling''. It is smaller, and more exhilarating to use and have fun with.
comparison with the evolve bamboo plz ...i love that evolve has all the spare parts for their boards, cheaper, same speed and longer range (18 miles ) only problem is that they dont have daul drive and less charge cycle for there batteries .... i really dont know which one to get !!!!
***** I actually found an even better one M1 from inboard better in every way 10 miles range, swappable batteries, dual Drive, the motors are inside the wheels so no belts, it can roll freely with no resistance even if the batteries are dead, has a USB plug in so you can charge either your phone or the remote and LEDs in the front and the rear. I already preordered mine
+Mina Botrous Hey! i would really reccomend the Melonboard! it's fast and light and on their webpage you can buy every sparepart you need, and it's really cheap. I have ordered one after tons of reasearch, and found out that this was the best option. i looked at boosted, evovle, yuneec e-go, zboard, and basically every model and honestly the melonboard seems to be the best. Thats just my opinion though! good luck on finding the right one for you!

+Mina Botrous I'll keep an eye out for the Evolve Bamboo and do a review. The biggest complaint I had about hte Boosted was the weight, I'm just used to regular skateboards (maybe all electric are heavy). When I kicked, the board didn't get up to speed as fast as I was used to.
Really cool seeing electric skate boards, very well integrated you can hardly tell its electric when its not working. Don't know if I would be game going 22mph on a skate board im flat out riding a normal one ha-ha.
+Gardener Rob Yeah, very cool and very dangerous feeling... I couldn't see myself commuting with one of these. I used to skateboard EVERYWHERE in college and now my knees hurt and I have lots of scars (including one on my chin) from crashing. It seems like even the best skaters fall a lot, I met Tony Hawk when I was younger, right when he learned the 1080 spin in the half pipe and he fell almost every other attempt... he was good at falling and didn't get hurt but that's still rough on your body in my view.
Specs of the Stary aren't one the level of inboard , boosted , marbel. I think they get 10 miles range on there board with it in a eco mode. Marbel get 16miles on Eco.. I think Stary is a amazing board tho. Inboard seems like another beast. I really like it. I ordered my marbel board since I thought the inboard would take to long to wait (Christmas time)
love the small size and portability, but that would throw you off at the slightest bump, specially at high speed, unless you know how to jump it and stuff
Joe G.P. I don't want you to receive this comment in any negative way at all, but do you even skate? The high diameter wheels on the board would allow you to go over %90 of street's inconsistencies. Also because of the mass wait, doing any sort of olle isn't even possible. Again do not take any offense to this. But, don't say those things when you don't know the facts.
garrett kite you're right, i've never used a skateboard, that is just the impression it gave me. Also you haven't seen the kinda streets we have here so you shouldn't go around saying "things when you don't know the facts" and you also said there is 10% it doesn't go over, you only need to fall off 1-2 times at 15-20mph to get seriously hurt. Also as a new skater you don't even need any obstacles to fall off :) *weight
Joe G.P. yea i was thinking the same thing. the city im from is so trashed. Pot holes and cracks all on the main road and through the entire town, man. i dunno if i should inveat in this
Personally the speed and acceleration of the boosted + is great, i'd like a little more range, but you can get a good 35 - 45 minutes going full throttle on expert mode. I don't see a problem with the price, there is alot of R&D in this product once you see it, evolve looks more like you man hacked it in your garage, with 350w versus 2000w.
+Christian Garcia Agree, this is a very refined product and worked well during my test. The guys who owned it reported that they had zero problems and loved to ride. Was a fun review :D
+3r8mo Yeah, it's pretty expensive... Do you skate on regular boards at all? For ~$160 you can get an awesome long board from Sector 9 called the Cosmic 2. I absolutely love these models, very light weight, stable and they have a tail so you can ollie and surf skate. I've owned like 7 of these over the years. Probably my favorite way to get around ever: ruclips.net/video/xJgeqikPK7U/видео.html they may have renamed it or something in recent years.
+Sam Kent I'll be buying the Dual+ for 300USD from Alibaba . com. Can't quite say if it's trustworthy as I haven't ordered yet, but from the research I've done, it seems to be a trusted (by the website) retailer, they've been in the business for a while now (aprox 11 years), and they have a great deal for the board. They can get it for low prices like this because they get it straight from the factory. They also ship internationally, so if you're not located in the US, this is an extremely cheap way to get it to your house. (Shipping cost included in 300USD)
This should cost no more than 500$. Who is it made for? People who want to learn how to skate? Because real skaters are not going to waste 1500 on this..
+Deebo Guwop Just the bare board without wheels or anything costs $200. It's not a crappy Chinese "hoverboard". I have one and I don't even want to drive my car anymore.
+Deebo Guwop The deck, trucks and wheels alone cost around $280........ could thing you aren't in marketing. It is made for people who want an electric long board.
+Deebo Guwop You are right, not many real skaters buy this, as evidenced by every video being a noob saying something to the effect: "everyone turns their head and looks at me when I come down the street"; some guy even saying: "oh yeah i like to leave the board out in the open and when it starts to attract attention I make it come to me" .. these "skaters" think they are entitled to a fucking magic carpet and will make just end up making it strictly illegal for everyone
+nerdexproject I don't blame you... I skateboarded for years, could drop into 12 foot half pipes, ollie stairs and do manuals etc. but I still don't feel fully comfortable. I almost crashed on the Boosted board here just fooling around :P
ElectricRideReview.com Ohh yeah man, im getting one! Im actually debating on whether i should get a marbel board or boosted board. The marbel can go 16+ miles on eco mode and 10 on unlocked mode and like 7-8 on the full power mode or something like that. The boosted board definitely wins with looks though and looks are a big thing for me
+adza botchway I got the boosted. Marble looked cool until I saw their blog with horrible customer service and technical problems. This board is the best most durable board available. I recommend you get it too.
Poor people are often unhappy. Don't hate on BB because current Times don't have this Tech for the masses. Do your research on the components of the BB before you critique. Quality engineering often costs big bucks! BB minimally explains the boards deck type and purpose. How you define a board of purpose is yours, but the creators at Loaded and their intentions already did so. Just accept that dual brushless, Li, and Vanguard costs $1500, yeah... that's not an outrae you poor mass. Our world is not the Jetsons yet people. Also understand reasons of conflict minerals and Li slave mines, and boasted American values of intelligent property. My dual+ is a marvel.
Two more coming this year to keep an eye on: www.indiegogo.com/projects/bolt-the-world-s-most-portable-electric-vehicle#/ and www.carvonskates.com/store/p31/CARVON_Emc2_--_Electric_Mini_Cruiser_with_Dual_Hub_Motors.html
+Scott Edwards I'm not sure if it will break but it did slow me down... just the weight of the board with the batteries and stuff, it didn't feel like a regular skateboard and it took me some time to get used to it, I missed fast kicking like on a regular long board.
can you carry your car in one hand hop into a train, drive it without gas or a drivers licence? I mean I'm sure you could but that would just be a really good acid trip. They'er two different things apples to oranges. This is obviously for people with extra dough :(
I know this was a long time ago but still... they are NOT direct drive motors. They are belt drive motors. Don't spread wrong information. At least you could do some research before uploading something which with the intent on spreading knowledge. Fail.
+ToCute_757 Williams if you said that boosted is ugly then yeah cuz err body that's ridden my board loves the looks and feels. But I guess it's all opinion
WHAT? ! Been watching your bike vids for some time now! Just discovered this page. . Awesome!
How's the braking on hills, can it stop you eventually?

Ker Plunk there are also videos of professionals using them and saying similar things... people are so judgmental.
wish they were more affordable, not really affordable when your a 17 y/o lol
I'm just going to convert my arbor catalyst
That's really cool but I never felt comfortable on skateboards so not for me! ^^
+nerdexproject I don't blame you... I skateboarded for years, could drop into 12 foot half pipes, ollie stairs and do manuals etc. but I still don't feel fully comfortable. I almost crashed on the Boosted board here just fooling around :P
it used to be 2,000 dollar! now its 1500! Wooo
+adza botchway Nice! Glad they're lowering the price, hopefully they're selling a lot and the company is doing good, are you going to get one?!
+Just BringIt really?
damn, I'll get the boosted I guess, the marble looked like it was better.
I got mine about a month a gin and New Years Ima do a reaction video showing what people do when they see it
Man you driving wiht a Biker Helm lol

Two more coming this year to keep an eye on: www.indiegogo.com/projects/bolt-the-world-s-most-portable-electric-vehicle#/ and www.carvonskates.com/store/p31/CARVON_Emc2_--_Electric_Mini_Cruiser_with_Dual_Hub_Motors.html
those motors aren't direct drive
goood video mate! (y)
The belt will break if you push off!
+Scott Edwards I'm not sure if it will break but it did slow me down... just the weight of the board with the batteries and stuff, it didn't feel like a regular skateboard and it took me some time to get used to it, I missed fast kicking like on a regular long board.
dude for 1500 i can buy a fucking car!
poor
can you carry your car in one hand hop into a train, drive it without gas or a drivers licence? I mean I'm sure you could but that would just be a really good acid trip. They'er two different things apples to oranges. This is obviously for people with extra dough :(
of course, but buying a car is not the expensive part of owning a car
Chris S. very true 😕
+Chris S. (ChrisFPV) of course not gas and insurance is
I know this was a long time ago but still... they are NOT direct drive motors. They are belt drive motors. Don't spread wrong information. At least you could do some research before uploading something which with the intent on spreading knowledge. Fail.
anybody what to buy me one?
+Jahnu8 get a job scrub
