I love these raw recordings, as well as the video. Thank you. One note: John was not a "prisoner" there. He was truly happy caring for his son, happy I think for the first time in quite awhile, as witnessed in these songs. All the more tragic...
This is very interesting actually. It gives a listener a small little clue as to how the man wrote and composed. Especially with the "Real Love" song......you can tell that he is not concerned, at this time, about the lyrics (which he is experimenting with all the while) He's concentrating on the melody, in my opinion. It's just too bad he wasn't able to complete the song on his own, I bet it would have been very different from what was released.
I've also heard many conflicting stories about John and Yoko possibly separating?? John was sent to Bermuda to get away. If John was? was the best decision Yoko made.. John come back to The Dakota armed with many songs which would be From Double Fantasy also Milk and Honey. May Pang has stated " she saw John several times on occasion from 1978 thru 1980?" As far as Yoko brainwashing John?? or the Dakota being his prison?? John spent 5 glorious years with his son Sean during that span. There will always be a conspiracy about the Lennon murder and who was behind It?
It is a dubious question. Obviously, he was happy to make Sean grow and everything that was part of fatherhood. But, I red many times that his wonderful relationship with Yoko was more fanciful than real. Fred Seaman knows a lot about that...

Linda Gayton Wow, you really believe that concocted, mythical fantasy of the househusband period.
Interesting to hear this rough draft of Free As A Bird by Lennon. Thanks for sharing!
John should have stayed in England, he would still be alive 😢
He did.
And he is 👍
