I cannot comprehend how someone can compose something like this and then someone else centuries later execute it flawlessly. I mean, I understand the mechanisms, but for me is like a miracle, seems to bend the limits of reality.
It's not so hard to get the notes and rhythm correct (sheet music ). Then to make it sound decent, that is hard. Next is to make it into music. After that is what Mr. Sato does which is really tops. On the repeats he is adding ornamentation, correctly matching the harmony. Don't know if he is improvising those ornaments or if he carefully planned them out ahead of time. Either way it is genius on Mr. Sato's part. He takes a lot of guff in the comments on his videos from people as jealous as me but not as nice.
imagine being such an absolute chad you memorized ALL of Bach sonatas and partitias perfectly, and executed them with flawless technique and musicality
I have played this Partita many times but your interpretation has reveals many new faces of this music. Fantastic execution! Thank you very much M° Sato
I just love hearing Bach with all of this ornamentation! It turns the music into something entirely new for me. And as I understand it this the manner in which it may have been performed back when it was written? Just amazing.
Although I’m more familiar with partita #2, this performance has opened my eyes (ears!) to the beauty of #1... Bravo Bach! Thanks Sato for your dedication and talent, and for sharing yourself in cyberspace! ❤️😍🎼🎵👏☘️🇮🇪😇
Greater still is the guy who TAUGHT him, and inspired those 1000's of hours of dedicated practice and study. And I notice he doesn't need the sheet. Now 90, when a student in the 1950's I would play all 6 busking to the West-end London crowds in a shopping arcade, eventually all from memory. I made a FORTUNE!
Wow he's got everything ! Good to hear a violinist playing the fiddle on Bach, very very good but great to hear at the same time a fiddler with three hundred years of romantic violinistic arsenal in place ...polished. This was quirky yet always absolutely in the best and most sophisticated of taste. Sato is a new name for me but I shan't forget it easily. He shows us what he can do only when absolutely necessary and always the weapon chosen is a surprise and far more apt than we feared. Devastating in fact. Inspiring. I'm off to practice delighted to have so many great new ideas to try on my Bach., Thanks very much to all involved.
Perfect timing. Meditation. Into someone’s internal world, vast, delicate, waves of the ocean 🌊, sometimes stormy, a forever topic, life and memory. Back to harmony. Never tired from listening, not sure why though.
Gosh I love that courante so much I think it’s my all time favorite Bach Courante, part of me wishes that Bach is watching how much we appreciate his music today, because he didn’t get much love for his music while he was alive!
Absolutely great in all dimensions! I haven’t heard about Mr. Sato yet, and i wonder how... Love his freedom of creativity paired with mastery. Realy an up to date contemporary approach to bachs music.
This is my first time I've been hearing variations made on a Bach piece, and I have to say that I've found them marvelous. Also, I love the way you interpret Bach in general 😍 I'm listening to the music while I'm folllowing the score and it's wonderful! Thanks!
It's so wonderful & exciting to see all the new releases by NBS. Thank you to all involved in this marvellous & ambitious project. Hope JS can see just how much admiration he still commands after all this time!
What I just witnessed was so pure. The tone of the violin, the skill of Mr. Sato... This is what the word Sublime means! Would love to know if I could get these pieces (the same rendition) in Hi-Res. Wouldn't mind paying for them...
Thank you! For this moment we only publish our recordings via RUclips and our website (allofbach.com) in this format/quality. We are exploring other (hi-res) options, but we haven't yet decided on this.

The performance is magnificent. If I could ask one thing it would be to record in a small space with a rug and a tapestry to damp the echo.I would really like to hear without the echo. Mr. Sato is a revelation to me - Bach was a madman for the violin.
Yes, definitely "Tempo di Borea" is the winner!!!.... Sarabande, I like Sarabande... and... why is the second " Double" so mysterious.... (i am missing Gigue...
NBS, I have to ask, what is this venue? At the beginning there's a quick glimpse of a church, but this particular room looks more institutional. Wherever it is, the acoustics are beautiful. Just now I went to "Show More" and found lichtfabriek.nl/.

I disagree: I think the echo adds to the music, and it was recorded this way deliberately.
