The japanese band Reach, covered "i just threw out the love of my dreams" for the cd, Across the Sea - A Weezer Tribute. This is a music video I made for a digital video project in november of 2005 for my COM 355 class. The acoustic guitar being played in the video was given to me by =w= on October 6th of 2005 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Very fresh, original interpretation of the song. I love the drumming and new swung rhythm. Can't say I love the vocals, though.
All in all, a great cover.

despite my initial eek! reaction to the shitty "japanese" accent, I actually like it. captures the spirit of the song and it's funny and the animation is clever :) Well done! But Rachel's version will always melt my heart. Also, this video is way old! I wish I'd seen it back when I listened to Weezer.

I only know of one other band that has covered the song, and that is Velcro. They appeared on the "Making Noise: A tribute to Weezer" record. A different girl is signing.
The Video Capture Device DVD has 30 seconds of Rivers singing the lyrics. Thats all though.
It's weird seeing this knowing that this was before the deluxe edition of Pinkerton when the song became available.

I like this. And I can tell this band is not really from Japan. I like the sarcasm of putting in Helsinki, Japan, however, as Finland and Japan are two very different types of places.

this is a video of the band "reach" except they aren't actually Japanese, the lead singer is putting on a Japanese accent.
the band is japanese, this is just a video of american guys miming to a recording. you can find reach's albums on youtube very easily

awww. i wish i was up there. i would have played the opening of "pink triangle". i heard someone at one of the shows got up and sang one of the songs from the black hole songs... i wish there was some video of that.
anyway, it was a decent show, but i wish i was on the floor or that i had seen them back when they were good and in a smaller venue. van andel arena sucks :\ kaiser chiefs were much much better in a smaller venue, too.
