The ZVE1 arrived today, and it is the most amazing camera I have owned. Easy to hold. 4K 120 is so beautiful. Sigma 17 F4 fits the body perfectly. I keep going between F4 on that lens and 2.8 on the heavier Sigma 16-38, and the difference is minimal. I can slide it in my sling bag no problem. I don’t think I need to go back to APSC. When you blur the background with full frame, and have better low light footage, I don’t know if you can go back. Thanks for the awesome videos.
@@DianaGladney No. B$H had a black one for $1800. I snatched it up. 10 condition. I can get a white silicone shell maybe. It’s discreet and perfect. The 11 mm Sony lens also looks good in dynamic zoom. I’m determined to vlog more. It makes me scared but it helps me be more real. A guy told me I look like a dog in the comments of my last video, but it did good for my views.
@@AprilClayton That’s an awesome deal!! Black or dark gray is usually my go to but I definitely broke the mold getting an all white camera lol As far as the comment that guy left, some people are trash human beings and straight up keyboard cowards. I’ve had awful comments left on live streams and regular videos and unfortunately, those kind of people exist and spew their ignorance online. Those kind of people amount to nothing in their lives and the devil don’t bother nobody that ain’t doing nothing. Keep pushing past your fears and Vlogging and making your content. You got this!
I need to get back into using my camera…I’ve just been using my phone lately out of quickness lol. But I want to get back into vlogging and need my camera. I love the features of this camera!
Using your camera is the best way to get comfortable with it lol Do a simple test recording and make sure it looks and sounds fine (review it on the computer), then if it does, go ahead and record a video. If you've gotten into a flow with your phone, do two videos on your phone and one of the camera. Keep those on your camera short and you can progressively weave it into your workflow. You got this!
Nice! The more I use mine, the more I love it! Fun, versatile, and light! I saw on your channel the recent addition to the family!!! I always like to see who I'm talking to, so saw the baby, congratulations!
4:38 there is a yellow/orange battery icon with a line through it. What is that? I've been trying to figure it out. The internet tells me it means the battery needs to be recharged but I've shot with this icon on for quite a while without the battery dying.
@analog_astronaut lol Yep, that's exactly what that means, the battery is drained and you're getting the recharge symbol. Unlike most cameras where you maybe have like a 1-3 minute window to be notified, I've noticed the same thing. On this camera, I can get like 10+ extra minutes that I've noticed once that icon pops on, even while in 4k. Idk how long you might get depending on what you're recording in, but a basic 24p or 30p, you probably have a solid 10-minutes before it hits the battery exhausted notification and the battery then is completely drained.
Awesome! You convinced me to buy this camera and this will also be my first full frame camera! Do you have an affiliate link? I’d love to support you and use your link!
I no you told me every camera is different for our everyday use, you just sold me with this zve 1 i had to buy it and add it with my fx30 and cannon r50 and im starting to like sony more, thanks for your hard work ms Daniel
Nice! Congrats on the new camera! I love using the Shot Marker and the anti-flicker is so helpful, it's crazy! I haven't found a way to digitally translate the shot markers from inside the camera to an editing software. That'd have to be something Sony updates hopefully at some point. Right now, I'm just taking note of them once I'm done recording so I know what's what when scheduling video edits. I'm not sure Sony realized it'd be dope to see those in the actual editing software.
Hi Diana: you’ve mentioned the great 1080p coming out of the zv e1. How does it compare to that in the a7cii? Am wondering because I have an a7iv, really like its 1080, and am thinking of sometime getting either a zv e1 or a7cii, occasionally (just occasionally) for 1080p footage.
Hey Diana, I just bought one and am new to this type of camera, and I have Vegas pro 14 for editing, but being a amateur I find media player cannot play video files, and on Vegas pro they are green, ( card extreme pro 128gb v30 ) any ideas for this nerd.
@jungletiger1900 Ooo, I honestly have no idea when it comes to Vegas Pro. I haven't even played around with the software. It may just be a playback issue since it's version 14 vs 22 or whatever their latest version is. I'd suggest checking what the max file types are acceptable for Vegas Pro 14 and see if that includes all the ZV-E1 can do. That may give you some leads. If you can open and view the file in the camera and lets say another program or editor can see the file just fine, like Davinci Resolve, then you know your file is fine. It's likely just a playback issue with the file type. Try recording some other types like 8-bit 1080p vs other modes and see what happens. That's the best I can muster up not being familiar with the software.
No, Sony doesn't really do firmware updates to add in new features. If it wasn't something announced with the release of the camera, it's not coming if it's not already in there. I'm still trying to confirm certain features in that camera but so far it appears some things are intentionally left out.
Shalom Diana! I’m new to the ECamm fam and use it to broadcast or ministry services. I’m currently using a video camera as a webcam but would like to get a mirror less camera under $500. The question I need an answer for is this, when using a mirrorless camera as a webcam, is it subject to the 30 minute cutoff? Appreciate your tutorials!!
Hey there! I would suggest at least starting with a used Sony ZV-E10 that’ll put you in that pricing ballpark. No, it won’t have any live-streaming limitations like cutting off at various timeframes but if you shop based on price only, you’ll likely run into some limitations in one area or another.
lol No worries! As long as you see the camera has Clean HDMI out and/or USB Live Streaming in the camera natively, you won't have to worry about any time limits while streaming. For any recording limitations, that's a per camera type thing but almost all recent cameras in the last couple of years took care of both of those concerns.
I've been using the Creator app to control mine and really love the functionality it provides. That anti-flicker tip though - I must have missed that one. Thanks sis ✌🏾
Yeah, the new app is DOPE! The anti-flicker feature is AMAZING! Any hotel, event spaces, or even airplane footage where you usually see if heavily is so easy to fix now. It works really quickly too.
To be honest, you don't need any special gear to record any vertical videos. As long as you have a tripod, a microphone, and good lighting, you'll be fine. All you're doing is turning the tripod head vertically and you're recording the same way you would for a regular video and still need to use same accessories like a memory card, etc.
No, I don't run into any overheating issues while recording. At various times I'm testing for overheating and pushing the camera beyond what I'd normally do to see if and where it'll overheat, but normal everyday content creation, it's good.
Tks for this video, Diana. Some of this features i didn't know. ;)
You’re very welcome! There’s a lot more in this camera that I’ll be sharing soon.
Hey Diana, love your channel, great content!

That's awesome! Congrats on the new purchase!
How is the rolling shutter? Does it have the jello effect if you move it too fast?
Nope! No jello effect as you’re moving the camera. It’s the same sensor and performance of the Sony FX3 and A7S 3.
