    Great footage cestrian81, really enjoying watching your uploads. Bryan Robson was my childhood hero, shame injuries restricted him in 86 & 1990.

    As an 11 year old in 86, some matches were very late on a school night. Always remember my anxiety and trying to sleep on the night of that Poland game

      Yes,I remember staying up long past midnight to watch England's group games with work to go to the next morning,and crashing out on the living room sofa before or during one or two of the other late kick off matches because of tiredness. Half finished drink by my side,cat on my lap probably. Luckily,England's matches in the knockout stages were not on so late (weekday evening v Paraguay and Sunday afternoon v Argentina).

    They chose robbo and it didn't work out unfortunately. Who knows how far we would have gone in 86 with a fully fit Bryan Robson

      Look England did not have a settled team going into the tournament..they fell on the right team in the last game..I believe it was here or pre tournament that Bobby Should have experimented with a 4-2-3-1 system...Waddle/Beardsley/Hoddle behind Lineker and Wilkins and Robson behind the two..

      @jamesmcgrath578 3 года назад +2

      We were dire in the first 2 games, including Robson and Wilkins in the first game, and only picked up and qualified and progressed once Bobby Robson had his hand forced and got the backbone of the best team in England at the time together on the pitch ( Everton, Reid, Stevens, Steven and Lineker )

      Yeah, Not knocking his ability, just that he now has one of the most valuable shirts, from one of the most talked about games & players in World football, plus Maradona scored those 2 goals in it, One of the Greatest, and the "Hand of God"

      They're all online. We dominated possession and chances v. Algeria and Spain and could have had 2 wins on a different day. We were outclassed by Brazil and 0-3 was fair. However if we had scored 1 more or conceded 1 less in either of our other matches, we'd have played Argentina in the second round instead of Uruguay, who were thumped 6-1 by Denmark and had a bad goal difference.
