The cost of the 2010 Soccer for South Africa was enormous. We are still paying for it today. Money that should have gone to culture and museums went to the world cup. Thereafter projects could not be funded. Government budgeting in one year has a knock in effect for the planning of another. The effects are still felt now in 2022.

I don't agree with the corruption and bribery but the world cup doesn't belong to Europe. It was the right decision and only a small convenience to the rest of the world as opposed to Europeans who think everyone has to cater to them.
Messi did not win the World Cup. It was handed to him. They were given a penalty whenever they needed one.

1. Saudi Arabia - Argentina was given a penalty in hopes of saving them.
