Tony Yazbeck is simply unbeatable in this valentine to New York City, as it was one spring day several years ago. It is a wistful glance backward at a New York that no longer exists. No crowds on the streets, no hugging or dancing with strangers, no riding the subway without fear. Or so I imagine. One looks at this vision of New York and can only hope NY will recover when the vaccine is universal. But such a heartfelt evocation of springtime in New York, one fine day long ago. Tony exudes warmth and sincerity.
I am not a theatre person in the slightest but man can Tony sing and dance. Born with two left feet and the voice of a mule in heat, I could only wish to have the talents that he has.
Heaven on earth - the entire cast and production of this On the Town. Than k you to all concerned for giving us this beautiful gift to Broadway. I was so happy to see it. Run to see this one. Dancing extraordinaire, costumes wonderful in the highest, cast all great - funny. This is the On the Town I have been dreaming of and waiting for all my life.
This Is Wonderful! Tony Yazbeck, You Are a Great Actor, Singer and Dancer! In my humble opinion, You Deserved to Win the Tony! You Are an Incredible Artist! I wish to you the Greatest Success! ¡Saludos desde Monterrey, N.L., México! :)
He wuz robbed as were all connected with this show. It should have won Tony's for everything. Where is Great Performances? Why don't they put this show on television?
What a great number from "On the Town" done in a a real setting. Thank you for sharing this and very much hope to see this at the Regent's Park Open Air Theatre in London in Summer 2017.
Wow, I am dazzled by Tony Yazbeck, INCREDIBLE, a perfect Broadway fit, it is making me want to book tkts for the On The Town from someone who's not necessarily a Brdwy girl (but i do luv this musical). You should have a Tony, Tony. This is the first time i looked to re-input the video just to see the ad promo again, FANTASTIC JOB TONY, don't know why all those people were shy with u, almost all the places in vid were places i frequent.
Tony Yazbeck was born in the wrong era. In the Golden Age of Hollywood he would have been a mega star, singing and dancing in Technicolor MGM musicals. He could have given Gene Kelly a run for his money.
GABEY: I used to think it might be fun to be Anyone else but me. I thought that it would be a pleasant surprise To wake up as a couple of other guys. But now that I've found you, I've changed my point of view, And now I wouldn't give a dime to be Anyone else but me. What a day, Fortune smiled and came my way, Bringing love I never thought I'd see, I'm so lucky to be me. What a night, Suddenly you came in sight, Looking just the way I'd hoped you'd be, I'm so lucky to be me. I am simply thunderstruck At the change in my luck: Knew at once I wanted you, Never dreamed you'd want me, too. I'm so proud You chose me from all the crowd, There's no other guy I'd rather be, I could laugh out loud, I'm so lucky to be me. CHORUS: What a day, Fortune smiled and came my way, Bringing love I never thought I'd see, I'm so lucky to be me. What a night, Suddenly you came in sight, Looking just the way I'd hoped you'd be, I'm so lucky to be me. I am simply thunderstruck At the change in my luck: Knew at once I wanted you, Never dreamed you'd want me, too. GABEY: I'm so proud You chose me from all the crowd, CHORUS: There's no other guy I'd rather be, GABEY AND CHORUS: I could laugh out loud, I'm so lucky to be me.
This song, so New York, is perfect for Tony Yazbeck. Tony Yazbeck is a creature of New York.
What a beautiful city with beautiful people and beautiful Tony.
I look at this every do often to remind me how much I love New York

A love song to New York City! Needed it now!

I love all of the people that are looking at him in each scene. Only in a few scenes there aren't any people at all.
Such a great voice
they could easily turn this into a movie, shot on location.
I want to dance with Tony Yazbeck.
So effing adorable.

Other than the zombies on their phones giving him a stank eye, the reactions are priceless.
ROFL this video. Reactions. So New York. And 2:32 "Ew. Ew." just like in the show! LOL.
AMAZING!!!!!!! Loved it!!!!
Poor NewYork after COVID-19! Hope you recover soon.
Saw this when it was playing in New York. Megan Fairchild played Ivy Smith.

He wouldn't have . . . Probably would have had to have had a nose job and a name change to Tom Sloan.
Or certainly Tommy Rall.
I'm happy he's here now.
He belongs here, now.
I feel like this kind of misses the whole message of the song😭
I would never turn away. Who wouldn't want to dance with Tony Yazbeck?
The best DILFS of DILFS!
If we ruled the world!
looking back at this now he looks like a sexy Wall Street businessman from a lifetime movie but with talent, passion and beauty.
Someone should mention that Lucky to be Me was composed by Leonard Bernstein.
You can more or less tell who's a new yorker in that video and who's a tourist.
Tony went to my school for a few years lol

Someone's campaigning... lol
Dancing on cement? Can anyone say shin splints?
pre-pandemic New York . . . . . a look at what was lost.
Eww!!!! Shaking all those people's dirty hands! 😖
Downstate showoffs...
He's a bit jowly
Jealous?
@@paragod333 of having jowls? Uh, nope.
Go away. You are not wanted here. He is heaven on earth, that's all he is.
