We are excited and eager to start our seeds this year, and we wanted to start more so decided to upgrade and enlarge our indoor seed starting set-up. In this video, Lucas shares with you EVERYTHING we purchased and how we modified a basic 48" shelf to accommodate seed starting lights to make growing healthy seeds easy.

Our Liberty House is a gardening lifestyle channel. Lucas & Beth live in Zone 9b, Sacramento, CA, (with their dog, Liberty!) and garden in 6 raised beds in our backyard garden. Together, we garden year-round and share what we are growing and what we are learning along the way. Our gardening strategy is to create a garden full of diversity. We intermix vegetables, flowers, and herbs to create an ecosystem where beneficial insects thrive. We avoid all pesticides and instead plant things that will take care of pests for us. We compost and try to live a sustainable life where we can 'eat what we grow' from our backyard garden. Thanks for joining us on our journey!

Lol omg. I am making a RUclips video on my seed starting setup as well and you have the exact same grow lights, rachets and shelf. I know where you got them :p

Very nice setup. Did you consider adding a thermometer, and/or a soil temp probe to control the heat mats in addition to the electrical timer? It would be interesting to see how many watt hours you are actually using with one of those plug -in kilowatt meters that plug into the outlet. My rough calculation is you will be using 0.5-1kwh while everything is on. In CA at ~$0.31/kwh the electricity might start to add up - well, a much cheaper hobby than golf😀. I'm also in CA 9b. Great project, nicely done.

Thankful that math isn’t my strong suit so I didn’t calculate it haha! I did consider running a soil temp probe but ended up not wanting the extra expense at this point. The heat mats will only be on for 7-10 days until everything has germinated. After that it will just be the LED lights. Thanks for watching!
