On the mainland you should try the route from Competa to Velez Malaga or Competa to algarobo, both hot, 1st is mostly downhill, quite scenic but not super steep 2nd has a flat, slight uphill 3rd of way down that you'd need a car for but when it is downhill is very steep and winding.
