  • Can you draw on your phone? What is it like using a drawing tablet with your Android device? Is it a worthwhile option if you are just getting started with digital art?
This Deco Pro drawing tablet from XP-Pen has been my main tablet for the last couple of years and it's been a total pleasure to use. But I've never really bothered much with its Android compatibility and drawing on my phone. It's long past time I tried doing a digital painting with this combination.

The app I'm using in the video is Sketchbook, available on the Play Store.

**NOTE: XP-Pen did not sponsor this video in any way. The purchase of the Deco Pro was done out of my own pocket a couple of years ago and it became my tablet during that time.

Just picked up the Deco MW and tested this out on the iPad Pro (totally unnecessary but my only Apple device). Worked well. I will do a video about it soon enough 🙂

Hi m8, great video! was wondering, can a pen mouse be used for drawing? can you do a review on that?

Hey Photography5. As far as I know, a pen mouse doesn't have any pressure sensitivity, so you'd only get lines at whatever the opacity, size and flow is set to in your software.
I THINK pressure sensitivity might be less important for vector drawing, but I'm not experienced with that front to say for sure.
You could probably also use one for creating in Blender to a degree.
I'll keep it in might for a future video perhaps.

If you thinking about buying one or the other, I would rather just go for a pen tablet that will give you the control, accuracy and pressure sensitivity like a normal pencil would.

Let me know in the comments if you are using a drawing tablet with your Android device (and which ones).
Also…remember that issue I was having with my Deco Pro during my main review video? Well it seems to be less of a problem now, somehow. No idea what’s up with that, but it was barely noticeable when testing between the phone and my computer for this video.

Does it connect to Samsung galaxy s22? I would just like to know before I purchase one, I've been wanting one for my phone for a while as it's one of the only ways I do digital drawings (as my laptop is broken) and I just wanna know if it's compatible

The Deco Pro should connect to the S22 without any problems. It's not listed as an incompatible phone on XPPEN's website: www.xp-pen.com/drawing-tablets-for-android.html
The Deco Pro is maybe a bit too much for using with a phone because the buttons and wheel lose functionality. So I would look at something like the Deco M for half the price. Unless of course you will be getting back into working on a computer soon and want those extra functions for that time.

Hi! idk whether youll see this comment, but heres to hoping! i tried connecting my small tablet with my phone, just so i can have something portable i can draw on, since my main tablet is a big one hat has to be connected to my pc! and it works, actually, BUT: my phone doesnt show an actual mouse cursor on its own! so i can never tell where my pen is at on the display, so ibasically cannot use it ): do you know how to fix that? did you do something specific to make your phone show the cursor? thank you , and great video

      Hi Janne.
I know exactly what you mean, I have the same issue on my phone. I don't know if there is a way to fix it.
Which app are you using? In some, you can go to the settings and look for something like Show Brush Cursor. Infinite Painter has this I think, ArtFlow, and Clip Studio Paint.

Is using a drawing tablet on android better than using pen and paper?

    • @EyekooDrawsStuff
      @EyekooDrawsStuff  2 года назад

I wouldn’t say one is better than the other. it depends on what you want to achieve. if you are learning how to draw though, I still think it’s better to learn with pen and ink on paper. If you have both types of tools available, then no reason you can’t work with both mediums in tandem.
A lot of my digital paintings first start out as sketches on paper, and the same with the stickers I’ve done.
