Hi Josie, former student of costume history here:) The photo in the middle in your downstairs bathroom is from 1900, when women wear long sleeve high-neck blouses, long skirts, big hats and corsets to conform to the then popular hourglass silhouette. Beautiful photo❤ from The Netherlands.
Fascinating history, Josie! Thank you for sharing! I enjoy the diverse & homey nature of your vlogs. It’s a pleasure to share the delights of the Cotswolds & your other trips all the way from the State of Maine, across the pond! I dream of staying in Strawtop Cottage one of these days!
I get such a kick out of the time you spend with your Mum. My daughter is far away in Lisbon, and here I am in Canada...we can't get together for girlie outings so I live vicariously through you both:). May I also say, I think you and Charlie have done an A-1 job in decoration/landscaping of your home-especially for such a young couple. You have exquisite taste. Love your vlogs.
Cookies look amazing. Your home is full of history and so interesting. Beautiful hair styling. How fabulous to do a Jack the Ripper tour. Very interesting Thank you for sharing ❤
Josie, Pumpkins are great for November home decorating. Those pumpkins will look fabulous through Thanksgiving. Use them in your Thanksgiving table decorating. Add some of your foraging colorful ,leaves, fruit, berries, and nuts. Please extend your beautiful harvest bounty through Thanksgiving. Thank you for sharing so much with all of us.
Precision is important with baking, you can free style measurements with cooking but not baking, especially not with baking power and soda, so you might have more consistent success with measuring spoons.
Josie, I’m so impressed with your cooking with each vlog. You are such a delight to watch. I never miss a video. I live in the USA in Alabama, you and Freddy came on one of your US trips. I live along the Gulf of Mexico, you didn’t come that far South. Love to visit the Cotswolds. Don’t want to leave out your special Charlie, he is such a gentleman. I use pumpkins in November also. 🌹
In the States, pumpkins are not just for Halloween and October. Pumpkins are very much in the mix with Thanksgiving being a big holiday around the last week of November. Pumpkin pie is a popular dessert for Thanksgiving, pumpkins and all things to do with Fall are in until....the day after Thanksgiving. That's when the Christmas trees and the Christmas decore comes out. That is also Black Friday, the biggest Christmas shopping day of the season. I guess it is different in the UK. I understand that Fall decorating is not that much of thing over there.
Wow, that was an excellent Halloween vlog; exceptional. Glad there was some beautiful things to see too though especially at The Orangery how wonderful
I love all your vlogs 💕 The photo of your house with the cricket luncheon looks to be during the Edwardian time frame. Historic Costume was a big focus in college for me studying fashion merchandising. Also I love all the additional cooking and baking you’re doing!
Loved your input to celebrate Halloween.. I was really taken with the photos in your downstairs bathroom of people in the past living and visiting your house soooo much history if only houses could talk I bet they would have a tale or two to tell, I find past & present so interesting yet melancholy at the same time if that makes sense. Please please show us the pic of the ghost you captured on film this is the only time of year you can do so 😊 I was expecting a male tour guide would have been more atmospheric especially if he was dressed in costume of the day. Love it when your mum joins you, and the cookies looked lovely might give them a go 🩷
Thank you for the short history lesson of your wonderful home. I would like to hear more. Also I enjoyed the Jack the Ripper tour I would have enjoyed the full version of the tour. It was a wonderful video Thank you.
Josie, you are delightful. Love your vlogs. Also they are relieving some anxiety- I live in the US, and an election that will impact generations to come is days away. Love and light to you and your family.🙏🏻
How do I convince my husband to pack up, grab our shihtzus, and move to Spellsbury because it sounds like my kind of town! ☽😂. Also I'm such a fan of historical stories, that's so fascinating your home was in the book! Happy Halloween 🎃
I love history, especially if it's spooky. :) I also took a Jack the Ripper tour years ago when I was in London. That was so interesting, Josie! and btw, love your nail polish!
Hi josie wondering if you and Charlie like reading as just watched the Stratford on avon vlog, I love old books, definitely would love to go and a Christmas shop, always love a Christmas shop 😊
The spiral was seen as a spiritual doorway ,portal to life itself or life beyond life . I'm no expert just a google Queen ,but its strange bucuse you have the flower of life there to, so my guess it's that it's a doorway to life itself ,not trying to scare you ,or it's to keep certain life out ,just like they said . Anyway it's very interesting have. Is there a 3rd marking there ? Maybe it will tell what kind of life it was keeping out .
You can also use Graham Crackers like you use when making smores, if you make smores in England, I'm not sure if that is an American thing! Love the videos!!❤❤
It would be so fun to invite a medium to your home to see if they connect with any spirits that are present in the house. I've been absolutely loving your content lately. You and Charlie are killing it!🧛♀️🧛🎃🍂🍁
Josie, I’m already so excited to see this vlog based on the title only 😱. I think you should do a spooky vlog every year-so much fun! Also, as you probably already know, our (America’s) pumpkin season continues through November due to Thanksgiving, so please continue to share all those pumpkin recipes.
When you're doing the videos in front of the mirror, it would be nice if you looked at us (you) in the mirror rather than looking at your camera. It looks like you're talking to someone in your hand rather than to your audience. Hold the camera down and look at yourself in the mirror and talk. That way you're looking at us.
Always a pleasure to see you and your lovely mum together. It's heartwarming.
What a good mix of fun and interesting Autumn/Halloween and murder content 😱!
The tablescape at The Orangery was so divine. So pretty. 💐💐💐
Josie what a fun, interesting and spooky vlog, loved it! 🎃
Love all the history of your house and village. 🥰
Such a wide variety of interesting content! Love your vlogs, thank you for sharing!

Britain doesn't have a Thanksgiving Day; there are harvest festivals, but I've forgotten when (I had thought August).
We don’t celebrate thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is an American holiday

A really interesting vlog. But also I want to say that also you are lucky living UK because you have the chances of so many activities and events. ❤

Happy Halloween Josie xx
The middle photo is probably from the Edwardian Era - early 1900s. :)
Please more reading!!! So interesting and relaxing 😊
I just realized the UK had the winter daylight savings change - I thought the videos were late!
Is eye measuring the best approach? CI test instead?
Super fun video 🎃

Yes there’s more!!! So interesting!

Speaking about spooky things, do you know anything more why the water was running from the taps in the downstairs loo a while ago???
Happy Halloween from Pennsylvania Josie! 🎃
Is F and EM S joining the festivities? Whenever they appear the views quadruple. Epic ;)
What a find with that old book Josie! Your hair looks glorious ☺️
Hi Josie, such great varied content and learnings as part of the Halloween treat ! 🎃❤️🇨🇦
I used to love licking the mixture from buns etc. but finding out raw flour has ecolie in ruined it for me now 😢 but I love all your pumpkin recipes x
Tell the Capital Hotel to clean their mirrors!!

I loved your Ripper guide! Mesmerized me.
Love you💋💋💋🧞♀️🧞♀️🧞♀️💫💫💫
Your nails look absolutely gorgeous. ♥
Happy Halloween from Chicago USA 🇺🇸
Hello Josie, just an idea you could do cookie and cinnamon ice cream sandwiches, a scoop of ice cream squashed between 2 cookies 🍪😋
You can also use Graham Crackers like you use when making smores, if you make smores in England, I'm not sure if that is an American thing! Love the videos!!❤❤

Eeeeek yes I’ll do that next Halloween!
Happy Halloween from 🇺🇸
Wow that guide speaks so quickly and hard to understand too.
Josie, what ever happened to your hanging herbs in your upstairs guest room?
47:35 Manicure? Or pre kerasilk treatment?
Spooky x 🎃
I think there is a new book out called Ripper and it solves the case, supposedly.
The case will never be solved!
The photos look Edwardian.
Such intriguing content! Well done!
Cool spooky cool vlog Josie marky Halloween 🎃👻🎃 io
Back to the hour plus vlogs sighhhh.
Your pictures are from the Edwardian era. Just before the great war.
New vlog❤🇨🇦

Yes! Love the pumpkin recipes! ❤
You should have put this on CC. Ask CI.
At around 14:06... WHAT!?!? 😬
Adopt Thanksgiving and then pumpkins are appropriate until Nov 30th. 🙂
Good grief! Don't tell me there's a pumpkin etiquette...
@@eshaibraheem4218 😂😂 that comment made me laugh 🩷

Totally agree. I follow Jo Good on here and she is the only one that looks at her virtual audience rather than the camera. It more relatable. 🇨🇦🌹
Josie, that was a bit creepy… but i enjoyed the vlog as always❤
Happy Halloween!!! 🎃
