But this video has me thinking in a big way, thank you so much, When I started on Etsy in 2008, I sold banners and Etsy shop tools that I would customize in photoshop. As you know, there was no Canva back then, people needed designers, my designs were different from anyone else's. And at first, I didn't know who my customer was going to be, I was experimenting with a style that I loved. I came from an advertising background, so I was proficient in coming up with designs for many clients and styles. But I settled on a design style I know would be for a specific Etsy shop customer. I found my target audience and repeat business... I was not selling to everyone, but it was fun, not passive as I had to add personalization and do a couple of revisions occasionally, but It was when I was most successful on Etsy. I do agree that all of the topics covered in this video are profitable, and I may decide to pivot and hopefully engage with your course at some point.

It's inspiring how you're able to creatively reposition items to cater to different customer needs and markets. Now, I'm curious, for someone who's just starting out and looking to apply these strategies, what would be your top tip on effectively identifying the right target audience for their repackaged products? It depends on who you are targeting! We choose our customers first and build the product mix around them using the 7 types of product framework. But it depends on who you are targeting so I'd want to chat with you about your customer first. Feel free to reach out if you want to chat more!
Interesting video! Question though: But how about the importance of having clarity about who the "target constumer" is and having consistency throughout the stuff sold in a shop (as opposed to a hodge podge of items, as you coverered in previous videos)? Rebranding like this means changing the target customer, doesn't it? Wouldn't that cause inconsistency and lack of clarity on who the target customer is? Would this mean that if one post is brebranded like this then all posts should be? Thanks!

a few ideas popped into my head after reading your comment: wardrobe for boudoir shoots, costumes for saints & sinners parties, wardrobe for theater/film productions, rocky horror picture show fans (or any popular thing associated w lingerie). i wouldn’t mention trademarked names. i’m sure you can think of many more!
