Oh sweet, look! There I am! Right at the very end of the video! I think I bought every item they had in the merch booth. Long drive, but god it was worth it!
I've seen them play this track live. While the original is a classic track, this is actually superior in my own opinion. ESPECIALLY live with the energy they give off.
I like the energy they put forth into their music. Sharona wasn't a good choice for their style, but they didnt kill it. I think it is just above average.
it's not that complicated really :P basically the vocal frequencies picked up by the microphone modulate the frequency spectrum of the synthesizer which gives the synth the texture of words and phrases. The synth itself tells you the note being used. Oh and I think she's using one of the Nord Lead series for the bleepy synth, but I could be wrong XD
Here is an analogy for you...with comparing this to The Knacks version..A brand new cathode ray tube TV To another identical one that has been dropped 10,000 feet onto a stone floor and putting the results side by side...no comparison!!!!
Of course it's not singing, but still it's an instrument. Like voice is considered an instrument when there's someone singing. The vocoder sounds un-natural but it's the purpose. Y'know, synthpop influence, synthetic sound. But I can understand why some people don't like it. Oh and I think it's way too mad and hysterical for teletubbies, unless you're watching teletubbies on acid and speed.
tiene k ver en el sentido de k pues ven la vida distinta..!! Ademas, todos somos lokos en cierta forma no me digas k tu eres mui centrado? de k parte de alemania eres???
They did this on their last US show with Kayo. It was in Washington, DC a couple days after Doug Fieger died, and they did it as a tribute.
The contrasting energy levels between the guitarist and the keyboardist is hilarious.
LOL love the girl on the keyboard!
that is an incredible interpretation of the original song. Amazing
LMAO THE END: "i spent eight hours, driving..."
Oh sweet, look! There I am! Right at the very end of the video! I think I bought every item they had in the merch booth. Long drive, but god it was worth it!
it's my first track that i heard from this guys...
awesome!
super mega in pastaaaaa sti giappiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
figata!!!
Given that the song came out in 1979, it would truly have been fresh and new in the 60s.
Best cover ever.
Fuckin' a right it is! Here's a reminder that you listened to something amazing 15 years ago.
I only heard this 2 nights ago, it is amazing.
Only the Polysics can take my Sharona and make it techno!! Too cool!!
These guys rule from orbit - they have the DEVO esthetic down PAT! All hail our new devolved masters!
When the singer started to singer in the robot voice...i knew it was going to be awesome.
best cover ever
they didn't play this when I saw them so this is a pretty cool treat!
The Knack's song done as if it were Satisfaction done by DEVO! And what a bass player! You go, Fumi!!

YES! They ROCK!!!
wtf!!! That song it's a classic, they killed that song
thats amazing lol very cool.
This is awesome! This should be played on MTV instead of that other crap.
In a perfect world the order of bands in that tour would be flipped. Hell, I've heard of people actually coming just for Polysics.
Clap your hands everybody and everybody clap your hands. We're Lambda Lambda Lambda and Omega Moos.
I've seen them play this track live. While the original is a classic track, this is actually superior in my own opinion. ESPECIALLY live with the energy they give off.
At first I was like, this is going to suck.
But then I was like, that ruled.

Oh man!
Fucking love themmm!!
They have SO much energy! love it :]
10数年前にRUclipsで初めて観た動画。
very good cover
cool stuff!
Soo awesome
Agreed. ( to the max!!!)
vocoder. combines the keyboard with the vocals, to put it simply though its a lot more complex than that :P
I like the energy they put forth into their music. Sharona wasn't a good choice for their style, but they didnt kill it. I think it is just above average.
WTF!!! awesome!
Anyone who thinks this cover is too "out there" needs to listen to Oingo Boingo's cover of "You Really Got Me". :-)
I spent 8 hours driving. And it was worth it polysics rule lol X D
this is just cool!

that was kind of awesome.
Genius.
these guys are so cool
Kick major ass Polysics do :D
My Shalona!
They know the word. They're using a vocoder. A thing where you speak on a monotonous voice in a mic and use a synth to pitch the notes.
godlike!
アメトーーク!
Yeah!!
hahah great!

i like.. but what is the keyboardist usiung???

I spent eight hours driving; the only thing that made it possible was POLYSICS.
DAISUKI!
i agree
I gotta admit, I'm not saying that I like this better than The Knack's cuz that would be a lie. But I like this song.
fair enough.
Here is an analogy for you...with comparing this to The Knacks version..A brand new cathode ray tube TV To another identical one that has been dropped 10,000 feet onto a stone floor and putting the results side by side...no comparison!!!!
LOL!
DEVO-TEES!
lol @ the guy at the end who spent 8 hours driving
I SPENT 8 HOURS DRIVING.
Yeah, here in America we don't waste our time with BANDS. Seriously.
what the hell is thats things they puts in the eyes?
The song sounds better on CD than live, I assure you. .-.
@Manusturbo
75 people's pick-up lines didn't work on Sharona.

ARE WE HUMANS?
perhaps. still a plebeiian though :P
killer
there are many ways to puke on a 80's classic song .... there will always be
different but nice,in a weird way
So... do you think that I should claim that it sucks without watching it?
@JagoReedJones Compared to your very realistic playing?
best part: she-male at the end
What, mtjurek, you've never seen a live rock show? Stuck under a rock all your life?
a cross between devo and greenday...
dude he spent 8 hours driving!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hate the song but they rock it anyways. "One, two, sree, fo!" that makes me laugh everytime.
tiene k ver en el sentido de k
pues ven la vida distinta..!!
Ademas, todos somos lokos en cierta forma
