Best ride of my life back in The 60s. Caught wave on the outside point it lined up with inside section for an Amazing ride. Took 45 months to paddle back to outside pt. Now that’s a long ride.

same as 50 years ago overcrowded and territorial to the maximum. i remember Rincon as a place of cover pics on mags, fist fights, slashed tires and a few stabbings and shootings, even a sniping if my hazy memory serves.
Funny, I surfed Rincon growing up in SB and I don't remember slashed tires, etc.... I heard about these things happening at Hollywood by the Sea and down south but for the most part everyone knew Rincon had massive crowds from everywhere especially on weekends, which the locals always avoided. You want territorial, then try the Ranch--good luck there! But the Ranch---ahhh00what a purely magical place.

I feel so lucky to be born when I was. Got the height of surfing. Surfed Quarra a million times with no one out, had Ti Tree bay empty, D-Bar with 1 guy out, Ozi pipe with 2 guys out, Diamond head with no one out, Bali was pretty much empty, boat trips would yeild weeks of epic waves all around indo with no one out. I recently went to West Timor and there was 8 guys out when we got therer. Surfing is fkd now

@@lovegunn22 Rincon and the other points around SB don't get good very often, there's no surf within an hour drive all summer and only a handful of west swells each winter that produce quality waves. Couple that with the fact that more than half the people in the water are blow ins from all over the state and yeah, you're gonna have some salty locals when they can't get a wave to themselves in their own backyard.

Hey Zeke!!! Real quick, your attitude after the heat is so admirable and something younger kids should 100% take note to appreciate. Its clear how much you put into, and care about your surfing, and even when it looks like you'd win the heat, you have to deal with life's vicious uppercut. Leave it in the water... Italo could even take a lesson from you on that!
Also, grew up in Carp, Santa Barbara, skated and tripped in La Conchita, and almost died scuba diving that pier>island just south of rincon.

Hey Zeke. Get yourself a finasteride prescription and start applying topical minoxidil twice a day. If you really want added results you can even buy yourself a few hundred dollar red laser therapy device or a microneedling device. I was losing my hair about 5 years ago I'm in my mid '30s.
Now my hair is as thick as it was when I was 1920. The s*** works and it doesn't take all that much time to do it. Applying my minoxidil morning and night takes a total of 20 maybe 25 seconds including washing my hands. The red laser therapy doesn't really take any time out of my day because it's a cap that I put on So I wear it while I'm doing chores around the house. Microneedling is the only thing that takes a little bit of time and accompanies a very minute amount of pain or uncomfortability. However I do it twice a week at most however most people do it once every week or two and it takes about 6 to 8 minutes out of my day once or twice a week.
I'm telling you this because I see guys that used to have very long hair and full hair for that matter going bald and it's completely unnecessary and avoidable And it doesn't take very much money or time.

I've judged plenty of pro and amateur competitions over 35 years and if you rip harder than everybody else as you say your going to get results.

I grew up surfing Rincon since I was a kid…That’s so embarrassing people act that aggressive and make it more dangerous than it already is. That dude was trippin.
When I was a Kid Stan chased me out of the water. I to grew up surfing Rincon in the 80's After school my friends and a rode are bikes there. we grew up just off Bailard ave. Fun times back then. I have not surfed Rincon in 15 years. I can't deal with the people anymore. To many clowns in the water that think they are locals LOL. Not sure you can call anyone at Rincon a local. Even us Carp people I wouldn't consider locals out there.
@@jgmopar as a young surfer (19) who grew up in Carpinteria, there are no locals at Rincon. Even if you live in carp, as soon as you get in the water at Rincon, you're nothing but another wetsuit.

I'm 45 and stopped comp surfing at 15 after only 4 years of it due to corruption in bloodlines of surfing and locals get favour over unknowns city slickers or personalities they don't want in surfing.
We're similar as we live our lives our way hurting no one just having a blast and sponsors don't want a true free spirit as we're way too unpredictable to big companies.
We just like to go with the flow.
I hope someone starts giving you better scores at comps and luv ya energy and hussle.
