most epic California surf video i've ever seen. no disrespect to the Mavericks crew, but this is just perfection. great job to all the wave riders in this. this is the next level of California surfing.
This might be the best OB footage ever- the combo of clean big swell and surfers able to handle it. They're making it look easy here but make no mistake getting in position to those peaks is a war against the sea. Nonstop sprint paddles, endless white water on the inside, and XL top to bottom waves out the back ready to detonate on your head and hold you down in very cold, dark water.

Possibly the heaviest beach break in the world at this size. Okay, there's Puerto which is very similar, but this place is freeeeeezing cold, breaks way further out in much deeper water, (not a good thing here) long long sets, super shifty, and sharky... just saying.

Coz Vicco in Oz gets big big swell and Gerry Lopez even said one of the heaviest scariest waves in the world as it's dark cold heavy and a mile offshore with great Whites everywhere.

This was so sick! Brought back the early 90’s vibe! OB at this size is effing Heavy! People underestimate how much cold water Fuchs with you! Traveling for surf makes for such amazing memories. Black wetsuits and white boards 😂 Nailed it! Seriously, can we get some color in the damn lineup? I loved that about the mid/late 80’s to early 90’s. Bright color wetsuits and painted boards! I rode a boog in the 90s. I'm from San Diego. I charged every big swell I could for 10 years at places like Black's Beach, Big Rock, The Wedge, Steamers, and all over the Bay Area , including Ocean Beach. Ocean Beach was by far the scariest and most dangerous because of the shifting sandbars and relentless white water cold enough to give you an ice cream headache. It's the only place I ever didn't make it out. It only happened once, and I'll never forget it. The likelihood of getting caught inside on a XL top to bottom wave is high.
It was always worth the risk to score clean, fast, powerful waves with no next to no crowds. Much love.
Never saw OB looking so good 😳 Last time I went it was cloudy, mushy, my car got broken into and I believe a shark was stalking me the whole time 😂 Sick session for you guys though 🤙

Ya, the theft of shit left on the beach was even a problem in mid 80s, and I'll put this break against any in the world, notice miles of peaks, not like Mavs when 50 people put waiting on one peak...

Growing up near Bolinas we'd drive to OB near seal rock, it caught every storm swell wise there, cold af, and the current being closer to the entrance to the bay was brutal, had a friend have to get towed in by me and another random guy, I think he never went back...
I never surfed before but love it and zeke has a way with presenting it and getting you excited about , huge waves this is amazing footy

Having surfed that spot several times in my day. It's way heavier than it looks and some serious holds downs at that size those boys did amazing performance out there. It's very easy to miss judge the wave there. The off shore wind nearly blind you on the take and once you made the drop you soon realize it's way bigger than you thought. Everybody says that about the place.
and while you were figuring that out, someone broke into your car, you got a meter maid on your ride, and they raised your rent for a 500 foot studio to 5k a month

I came from Florida and had no idea how to surf... I learned at Ocean Beach over a couple of years. The bicep burn is the worst in the world. I took 100x times more waves on the head than I surfed. Ice cream headaches all day. It was miserable, but I loved it.

Super rad vid! 🔥 I’ve seen OB a little bigger, possibly cleaner, and more barreled during a winter swell in the early 90s… it was easy 20-30’ and all A-frame barrels. However, there was so much longshore current, the lone guy that was out never caught anything. It was all paddling just to stay in one place fighting the current, trying to push him south. I was parked on a lunch break & don’t recall if I was at parked Sloat or more up by Lincoln. I looked away for a brief moment, only to realize he was already pushed several blocks south. It looked like a cross between Pipe and Outer Sunset. It was straight bonkers. Never seen anything like it at OB or any Cali beach break.
