- Aurelion Sol, Queen of Space! Well, I decided to come back and do a full reaction to our one and only Targon prisoner to get a fuller picture of his lore. I'm really curious to see what Riot ends up doing with him once he becomes free from Targon's hold, cause we all know its not going to last forever. A huge trivia/fun fact that wasn't mentioned: Riot originally teased a dragon champion called "Ao Shin" on the old forums, who would have thunder/storm powers. They revealed him early in development, and a bunch of other champions started to get released before him. I believe it was like radio silence for a few years, he was essentially iceboxed. Until Aurelion Sol came out and we learned that Ao Shin's concept ended up as a whole other champion in Aurelion Sol.
Just a few years ago, "Ao Shin" was finally really released in a way, in the Storm Dragon skin for Aurelion that even mentions in his bios that his worshippers knew him as Ao Shin (and just a little while before that they released a mini Ao Shin as a little legend on TFT -and in this case the star design of Aurelion's base is there as a color variation).
Diana, Leona and Soraka haven't been updated but they have good lines in LoR, plus LeoDia have a great story about the two of them when they were younger.
Still a shame that the execs vetoed them being lovers.
This is your answers to your questions :
- Aurelion wasn't really popular except by pro players with his old spells, this is why he hasn't much skins.
- Yes, he has new voicelines for his new spells.
- The rework had changed all his spells except his W. The old one was kinda boring, playing around his stars and using his moving skill (W) to gank others lanes from his mid lane.
- Minions with Draven head was for April Fools and the release of the Draven's skin : Draven Draven, Draven is wearing a mask of himself smiling.
The new updated version was really strong on release because like Kayle and Kassadin, he was a time ticking champion meaning as long as the game gets to a certain point, it becomes almost impossible to win against.
Kayle gets to lvl 16 and she has long range, aoe autos and insane amount of Ad and Ap damage meaning it's extremely hard to build against or even tank properly in fights due to her doing both types of damage.
Kassadin gets to lvl 16 and his ult becomes 2 to 1 second long, his ultimate allows him to blink to a location near him and do Aoe damage. He can blink to a new location every 2 second dealing 25-40% of your health, meaning it's game over and you're never outrunning him or locking him down unless you have a hard Point-and-click crowd control ability or lockdown heavy team.
Aurelion sol on the other hand gets infinitely stronger because his stardust stacks do not have a clear limit. So if you don't end the game in time his black hole can be the size of the dragon pit, making it impossible to even fight him or his team because he can lock down the entire river or lane with a single E ability. And his ultimate will be impossible to dodge because you either get hit by the lane sized knockup or the map AOE that follows. Not to mention he also builds a bit bulky and an item that slows whenever his ability hits you, making it really hard to run away or chase him when his abilities get to a certain point because they grow in size and also linger, such as his E. Aaaand his flight is reset whenever he kills anyone, it doesn't have to be mid flight, and so he can keep chasing down people by flying with his breath attack which is constantly slowing due to an Item call crystal scepter(slows enemy damage by your abilities for a couple of seconds, but it's constant due to his breath being a constant damaging ability), kill someone, and fly again using his breath to chase another person, making him an insane chase down and clean up spellcaster. He was a bit broken because he built a lot of HP items that gave him damage still so it was hard to lock him down consistenly, after many nerfs he's back to being alright early and mid but still really good late, the hype has also die down a little so Asol mains can now rest a bit.
51:50 The Scourge is the celestial being that "made" or "bore" the physical being called Baron Nashor. A "Boss" type Monster in League of Legends that you can defeat with your team after 20 minutes.
They reworked old Aurielion since he was incredibly powerfull and incredibly hard to play at the same time. For this reason his numbers had to be very low so he is not overperforming. His difficulty level made him unpopular so he didn't have many skins. After rework every ability was completely changed. Now he is much more simple, and powerfull but not right away. He needs time to get strong. That makes him much easier to controll in terms of performance.
he is one of the arrogant characters, and in my opinion the one that deserves to be arrogant the most, qiyana is a princess and she is just arrogant because they belittle her achievements so much before, ezreal is hiding his insecurities but aurelion is a massive dragon
He was released just after I started playing so the teaser was so hype. To this day he is in my top 3 of favourite champion conceptually. His original gameplay though was unique but inconvenient to play against assassins and mobile champs. That's why they gave him a first of it's kind Comprehensive Gameplay Update because as they stated, Aurelion Sol was consistently loved by everyone in terms of visual concept and story according to surveys but most people ditched him after couple games. So they changed his abilities entirely without changing his visual concept or story. Now I believe he's decently more popular and after you get used to it the new ASol is so much fun.

When I saw that Asol trailer 7 years ago I was in awe. Sooooo hype. -Yeah it sucks, many new champs dont have nearly as many fun interactions anymore
A bit late to the video I know, but someone suggested the tattoo quote may have to do with Ryze's rune prison ability. I think another possibility might be the sudden realization that he himself is imprisoned by the targonians.
I don't know if you have those, but in Portuguese, we have that history, twin stars I think, red by the voice of aurelion sol, its mesmerizing to listen ❤
He doesn't have that many skins because he was one of the least popular champions. A lot of people liked his lore and aesthetics, but not the gameplay. Which is why Riot decided to give him a full ability rework - most reworks, either midscopes or even VGUs tend to keep at least half of the abilities the same or similar, but with his the goal was to completely remake his kit from scratch. They added the Q breathing fire to make him feel more like a dragon, and then the ult and scaling replaced the stars around him when it comes to showcasing his cosmic power. Now he's one of the most played champions.
The "magic prison" line is actually a reference to Ryze's ability that has the same name
1:11:14 , Shyvana is a veeeery old champion, but she keep getting the second place at the votes they do with the community to decide on the next champion to rework since a couple of years now.
she appears a lot in others champions story as a side character (saved Jarvan, The ruination event, Sylas Mage revolution event and so on) but her own story and voiceline didn't get updated since 12 years (2011)... However Riot said they wouldn't put her in the next votes because they will start working on her soon for a full rework so no point in asking people their opinion anymore.
My advice would be to wait until her rework to review her, probably 2 or 3 years to wait but there's still plenty of champions in the roster for you and more keep coming each years.
10:30 -ish i believe he is not a celestial since Aurelion technically created the sky/world they live in aswell. Aurelion is THE creator of the the universe.
Even in Legends of Runeterra he has subtype "dragon", not "celestial"
well... Illaoi's god (Nagakabouros ) has been retconed once. before Nagakabourous was the existance itself, contain everything, include Asol, now it's just a normal spirit god like volibear and Ornn. so the illaoi line make less sense now.

You should check out Neeko. She is a pretty unique champion and so differnt personality wise from all the champions you have been doing. She has lots of voice interactions in both LoL and LoR, even has a LoR Song devoted to her and Nidalee called "Shine On"
at 40:30 , the Visor on his face is actually the one he pulls out during it's taunt. he spawn a little sun in front of him and put the sunglasses on. but it seems bugged on the model viewer, he doesn't wear it all the time ingame
If they ever canonically "free" aurelion sol, they'll either do a visual update and turn his base skin into a "classic" skin, or they'll create a skin for that change in lore and call it "unleashed" or something

the skys descend can be a very interesting thing, because it has such a huge radius after the initial impact it can catch some people offguard and get them killed if they are low

I knew league of legends since de beginning because of my brother, but I only started playing because of Aurelion Sol, when I saw his teaser.
Aurelion is currently a deck with a new card that halves the cost of celestials everywhere.

He got released around the same time as Kindred, Jhin, Camille, etc., basically what is imho the golden age of new champ releases. It's hard to believe that was 7 years ago, I had just started playing the year prior, and those new champs delivered such an insane amount of hype. They're still "new champs" to me, but they're not - they're all 5+ years old. Now when I see actual new champs I just sign, which makes me sad. It's just not the same. Aurelion Sol was one of the all-time greatest releases, kit aside (not quite living up to the hype generated by the trailers and stuff).

When Asol was first teased it was so hype and his lore and personality were so cool, but once his kit was revealed and we got to play him in game he was so underwhelming. He was honestly a joke and quickly became one of the least played champions in the game.
His new kit now is so dope and fits him but unfortunately, he's an infinitely stacking champion thus making him oftentimes OP in the game and hard to balance :/
he was very unpopular when got released because how different his gameplay was. His kit got reworked earlier this year.
I liked him the old version too, now he is even more op 😂

Bard is a very interesting character, both in the lore and in the game, but he doesn't speak - he only makes chime/horn sounds. Hence the "flat personality" comment.
And you missed some voicelines. For example the Shyvana ones arent even there. Or Zoe. Maybe you have a too old video
